Who else is watching this during quarantine? 2020??
If you don't know the guy DO NOT STAND 8' AWAY FROM HIM, ESPICALLY DOWN CURRENT.
Last year I get on the rocks at 1am. For a 5am turn. At 430am 6 amigos show up 4 stand 10 feet from me, down current and the other 2 are 8 feet up current from me. I turn to the guy closest to me and I say , I'm going to hit you. He looks at me and says are you threatening me? I said, I'm using an 11 foot rod and you're standing 8 feet from me, I'm not threatening you, basic math is.
Is not that the crowds suck , it's lack of respect .
Great job highlighting good etiquette and catch and release. Very important topics these days with the state of the fishery and the impact of social media on a place like the CCC.
GIVE IT UP FOR THE EASTCOST CAPE FISHERMEN 👍 🇺🇸👊
Roy!!!! Thats a good dude right there... Ive run into Roy Leyva at multiple venues over the yrs from the trout ponds of Plymouth to the canal. Always quick with a smile, and quick to offer me some kind of advice to advance my knowledge. I gotta say its pretty cool to see him on OTW bc I knew him long before he got where he is today. I learned the old cast-a-bubble technique from him for picky trout at a tiny 1.5 acre trout pond in Norwell. To this day, one of my go to techniques. Thx Roy
Got my first ❤from OTW for this comment, but i couldn't help myself from editing it bc it had some juvenile mistakes in the grammar.... I didn't want to sound like a hack, so I edited it slightly..... I lost my ❤in the process.. 😥 Still, you guys at OTW are my heroes and I appreciate it nonetheless.... tight lines and screaming drags boys..... see yall on the water
@@afg-hf6zjYou got your ❤️ back, buddy.
On my way to Scusset beach tomorrow with the family for Father’s Day!! So pumped!!
Very well done video! I love the canal!
Gotta love the canal!
Great episode
Such a good video
Awesome video!
My home away from home! I mostly stay in the dark to avoid the crowds and take more big fish jigging the late nights! Some amazing blitz action in daylight but to many ppl for my likes! Not that u won't find me tossing pencils to them from time to time!
Shhhh... :)
For many decades I’ve witnessed many dear from both sides at change of seasons. A good sportsman could double his yield with the right equipment .Add a Remington to your tackle box. And a couple hundred in fines.
this is great..i have a house on the cape and always wanted to know about fishing the ditch
He's right. If you're respectful, most of the people are friendly.
One of my favorite places to be in the entire world.
Same here
Makes me want to come to The Cape
I have a love-hate relationship with the canal. I love the ditch because I’ve caught some really high-quality fish there. I hate it with a passion because I have left at least a couple hundred pounds of jigs on the bottom. I think if you combine my losses with the losses of everyone else there must be hundreds of tons of lead down the bottom.
Riddle me this though? how are you able to use live tasty tinker mackerel? You can’t be throwing a Sabiki although it might work but IDK. Did I miss you guys dragging a live well around with you. I have to imagine fish all day.
8 foot popping tuna rods would brilliant and shore Jigging rods
I thought this was about fishing the Cape Cod Canal, not two guys repeatedly saying "Nice fish, Steve" or "Nice fish, Kevin." I fished that canal years ago as a young kid, following none of the precious little "advice" they offered - and I caught fish. In fact, if you put bait (even worms) in the water, it's almost impossible to not catch fish.
Dwight Stewart idiot u are clearly they know more than u dummy
Thanks Dwight come on down and fish it with worms now!
@On The Water Media is this the Canal not to far from Hyannis Port MA? I go fishing up there at least 3 times a year.
Yes it is @Berto1313
@@OnTheWaterMedia yes sir buddy! be back up that way in July for fluke and sea bass
What is the best months in year catching bass there?
June and July
The pan Slammer 3 is sufficient the Penn long cast is sufficient
Is this in spring 2019 or 2018?
vsonic86 2000 YO MAMA
We filmed this summer of 2018
Yea etiquette and giving people space is everything especially with the current and please practice catch and release if we want to keep this fishery going. Respect goes along way, and it seems it has been lost among fisherman 🎣🎣🎣
Was there tonite. Nobody caught anything.
Nobody ever chunks baits there? I’m from Jersey and never been there.
Mike Barbee mostly not but l have seen some fishermen done from entrance.
No point when you catch slobs on every cast with plugs. Plus your just gonna loose all your gear. The bottom is all rock
Mike Barbee- there's certain holes you can bounce sea worms, chunking not so much. Beaches on bay side at nite for sure though.
I’m so very confused as to why this late summer fishing session was uploaded in February.
It turns out that a lot of people like to daydream about summer fishing during the doldrums of winter! Maybe, if we all chant loudly, spring will come soon. Everybody say "spring" on three!
One... two... three!
On The Water Media hahaha okay fair enough, you caught me doing just that!! 😂
Dont wanna tell bout them canal swimmers u throwin huh?😎
I’ve lived here my whole fourteen years of life and not once have I fished at the canal
Yea cause u probably know all the secret spots lol
@@pkhfdv exactly
Who else is ready for 2019 stripper action?!
2022 was the worst season at the canel. Many old timers blame it on the hot weather..
Why are no boats fishing the canal ..... are they allowed ? Don’t see them in video other than driving by
They aren't allowed
Thanks
Not allowed
That’s awesome!!
is it all possible the old fella was pinching a loaf while in the water. i mean ive been on the banks and theres not too many bathrooms available when you get far enough down the bike trail........just sayin
You're probably correct. It was about 95 degrees that day so we assumed he was just cooling off but perhaps he had to take care of other business. 🤢
@@OnTheWaterMedia lol its a story to tell at the least. great video by the way. I dug you guys getting roy to a spot in it always great to have a local tell you how its done right. and the focus on the canal etiquette, heard it was crazy last year with guys getting into fist fights and what not.
Thanks we appreciate it! It was definitely insanity there more than a couple times. We're hoping anglers, especially people new to canal fishing, take the pointers seriously which hopefully should prevent etiquette issues down the line. 🤞
Who’s here because of EPF?
divorced my wife of 15 years because of this place and zero regrets.
