Whilst I accept that this demonstrates great skill on the part of the respondees it also demonstrates not only deviousness but also panic as they consitently demonstrate their ignorance in the very subjects over which they have nominal control. They wanted to pass a motion that would exclude staff and members from voting on any issue. This a recommendation from an “independent” study at huge cost never put to members. Turns out the board chair previously worked for this firm. Effectively reducing control to just 6 board members. I refused to vote to allow it. They assured me a year later there would be huge improvement. A year later all emails have been ignored and they have blocked minutes of meetings. They have co opted new members and out voted any who oppose them. The chair sounded exactly like this woman all talk and no substance.

My own experience in providing information and analysis to the British Main Board of a large international company is that they do not understand what they're looking at, don't understand their business and certainly don't appreciate their staff at any more than one level of separation. The performance of the Establishment during Brexit proceedings is pretty much in line with that experience, which is why the reality falls so far short of both hope and expectations.

As soon as you move into the public sector you come across this simply poor quality who would be fired in the private sector. Of course the main issue is that the public sector is their for its staff - not the public and as long as they get a nice gold plated pension who cares.

If it is the taxpayer paying them, then when do we get a vote in the EHRC?
Representative government has fallen into an abyss in the UK. As the numbers of politically homeless (those without a Party that shares their personal and political values) grows, elected politicians are ever less representative and those they appoint to well-paid jobs even less so.
