If the government built the 340,000 property shortfall we have each year. This would gain gain over £14 billion in profit at least and the rest can go on building 340,000 houses the year after, and so on, taking the profits, reinvesting the rest. They could put them on brownfield sites, which would reguivinate the intercity and the high street. So win win. The issue is developers won't make lots of money (even though they don't build the housing in the first place) so under neo-liberalism you can't do something that is logical.

I’ve worked in the software industry for years. Part of that is giving presentations, and attending presentations. The best presentations are by people who’ve prepared well. They know their subject and can concisely and accurately answer questions. They’re confident and unfazed by even aggressive questioning, because, well, it’s their job to have the answers- to have worked out what questions need answering robustly and definitively. The worst presentations are by people who frankly aren’t very good at their job. They don’t provide anything concrete in the presentation itself, usually waffling to fill space which should be filled with hard information. Then when questioned they immediately are defensive, evasive and take off on irrelevant tangents without answering questions. The former know their sh1t and the latter know they’re sh1t. Braverman is without doubt the latter. It’s a total waste of time interrogating her because she just doesn’t know the answers.

Even if I want to give her the benefit of the doubt, it would be impossible because she is totally unprepared and often ignorant of her brief.

Would she still be in a job in a company? Company managers would dismiss her as incompetent! KeepSmiling 😊🌺

"I don't know the details " seems to be a much utilised phrase by the Tory front bench.
The phrase "the devil is in the details " appears to have bypassed this lot of politicians entirely.

Local authority housing cannot be used to house asylum seekers. This is for people within the authority many of whom have been on waiting lists for years. Even I know that Serco has the contract for housing asylum seekers when hotels are not (or before they were used), they do so by leasing private rental accomodation paid for out of Home Office funds managed by Serco. Some people may remember this as Serco painted the front doors of all these properties red. It made quite a splash in the national press.

Watching from Asia, I find it incredulous that she is your Home Secretary ! Don’t you guys agree that problems with current crisis can be partly resolved by deporting her to Rwanda for good ?
