- Ever wonder how hard each spec is in WOTLK Classic? I've played all of them to varying amounts so here is my personal opinion.

Nice! I think looking back almost a week later that is still my opinion after a bit more thought. The only real one anyone mentioned being moved that I think is reasonable is feral. But I really don't think it would go up by much if at all. Definitely gives a pretty decent picture of what to expect I think.

Good video, loved it! I agree with most of it, I might place a few ahead or behind a class but the tier for each was really good. I personally would probably combine your very hard and difficult category together. Since hunters don't have to deal with fake casting at all I just don't think they should be in their own tier, and it would feel weird to put rogues in a tier by themselves but I definitely agree rogues have an insanely high skill cap. Love the video though man! I agree with 99% of it!

Great info! I’m still going ele for wrath I haven’t seen anyone do any 5s comps videos. There’s seems to be an information black hole about it. I’d assume my 2 mains (ele and boomie) would both be good in that bracket though.
Oh for sure. Actually I think those 2 specs would likely go into one of the best comps imo (boomie, ele, destro, SP or mage, and Hpal) I don't know enough about 5s to make a solid tier list... yet but I might play more 5s when wrath S5 is here we will see. Your playing two very fun classes imo
BM Hunter same tier as Feral... Meanwhile Skill Capped have put the Rogue and Feral at the most hardest bracket among the melee specs.
Feral has a very high skill cap, I think that's correct. MM hunter is difficult along with Rogue. The easiest melee has to be enhancement and DK. Warrior in the middle. I think Apex was correct, but Feral is hard tier.
Funny how skill capped promote arena boosting on their youtube chanel while they baned reckful and ruined his life
@Grimmjow I just don't think feral is on the level of rogue at all. I don't see that in this world of wotlk. If they mean just general rogue like assassination then I could agree. But Sub is far harder than feral imo also Bleach is coming out with it's final season soon!

I have a question btw man! I'm loving your guides they're very informative and thorough. Are there any comps that can counter Hpal and arms in 2s? I feel they're unkillable with gear or that's just the way it is?
Thanks glad they help! I feel like I have a informative speaking style so this type of video format seems to interest people. I would say nothing "counters" hpal/warr but the comps that certainly are 50/50 or close to would be things like Shadow/frmage(i think this is the hardest MU) and then after that DK/disc can sometimes win but the warrior really does crush the priest. Then enhance/preg can win by killing the pally after his bubble but if the warriors pve gear is really good like shadowmourne then it's extremely hard to live through the damage. I'll probably make a guide on it though at some point

Oh you definitely could put it higher, I think I've just played it long enough that it just feels like okay, I just run over these people with insane pressure and near unpeelable defensives. And it just feels very easy compared to some others but then again I've played DK quite a bit so that definitely goes into forming my opinions I think. Unholy is certainly the hardest spec for DK's

I aim to main rogue for pvp in wrath, even tho its considered so difficult. The thing you said intrigued me, what exactly did you hear about rogues that makes you suspicious of picking the class?
If you're a longtime WoW pvp player rogue is one of the easiest class, because the gameplay is scripted. For newer players its a bit much, because you have to track so many things.
@Fireleaf X Well two things in particular are the reasons I won't play it most likely. In particular sub rogue is is very hard to gear, just like hunter, feral, warrior. So I'm likely going to avoid those classes or only pick one which as of right now I'm leaning warrior. But also, they are very unforgiving and after playing this game for so long almost nothing bothers me more then losing to people who I think are worse than me. And when I play rogue that sometimes happens just due to their very squishy nature as well as melee being able to hit you so hard such as warriors/ret/pregs. But rogues are also very satisfying when played well and in particular 2s they feel alot better since 3's it exposes their weaknesses a little more imo.
@@apexanalysis8348 Thats right, hunter in particular is very frustrating to learn, rogue is a bit easier in my opinion because you have extremly good defensive cd's and can easily lock your target down with stuns. Gearing is another thing, i wouldn't call it hard, its just timeconsuming and you have to do alot of PVE.

I always enjoy these videos even though I won't be reaching the highest level. I'll be happy to hit challenger or rival.
I feel like some classes will carry you up to a certain rating easier because pressure alone will win games up a certain point, or maybe setups are so easy that teams will drop in the opener. But that's kind of a separate thing that's impossible to quantify vs what is required at the highest level.
True, that's pretty much the case with fotm melee cleaves that can run over people
@salamimeister The comp can be really faceroll but it definitely plays a little differently than what you would expect. It feels harder than it looks usually
@Csquared Yes that is definitely true. It's like playing a gambit at the beginning levels of Chess you will absolutely crush probably everybody without a chance at losing. In this case drawing an analogy to wow a turbo cleave comp can easily beat a LSP/LSD of equal skill level even though the second comp is just objectively better
Once i learned grounding totem is OP i felt a weight come of me,i play enhance shaman, for the longest time i did not fully understand grounding totem,it gives you a buff,the buff lingers on you when you leave the totems range,and it does not need LoS with the totem,it will be removed after a few seconds of breaking LoS or totem range,but will be reaplied as soon as you come back to the totem range,you can essentialy dance in and out of the totems range keeping it safe behind a pillar,but this is not half of the part of why its in my opinion OP in wotlk,firstly all totems ignore 100% of AOE dmg,secondly you can place grounding and then stoneclaw so that grounding gains a 1000hp shield that will often absorb the 1 trash attack people use to destroy grounding,like a paladins,hunter,enhas autoatack,BUT ALSO SPELLS like ice lance,if the spell targets grounding and not me,it will be absorbed by stonelcaw shield and keep grounding alive,so now you have made someone spend 1 attack on the stoneclaw shield,and a spell on grounding totem.
BUT mostly why grounding is op is it will eat some of the strongest CC spells in game,
PSYCHIC HORORR,SILENCE,STRANGULATE,DEATH GRIP,HAMMER OF JUSTICE,DEEP FREEZE,POLYMORPH,HEX,FEAR,CYCLONE,
FREEZING ARROW(grounding will absorb the effect the moment you walk over the trap a hunter shoots at your feet).
Finaly grounding is a 11.5 to 15 sec cooldown depending on talents and gear,but its duration is 45seconds,so you can place it on the ground,stoneclaw shield over it,and if it survives for 11.5 to 15sec,you have it off CD while its still active!,
so you can grounding twice in a row if people let you sit there before opening on you (like vs rogue priest in arena).

Sub has and always will have the most potential to outplay than any class this game has ever and will ever have.
I've put a big chunk of time into hunter in wrath and I still feel like I'm maybe playing the spec like 80-85% properly most of the time. It just feels like there is so much you can do and maybe even many mistakes made a game. But SOOOO satisfying when played well
this list combined with the 3v3 tier list makes me think rogue is the wrong choice for a main in wrath! It's going to be difficult, but hopefully I can still get high rated.
They are good the first season and taper off. I mained rogue every xpac duelist xp and wotlk is my least favorite. Playing sub and only doing damage during shadow dance window feels bad. I don't like having to kite and reset waiting 1minute till my next dance is up. Shadow dance in cata is better, your consistant damage is higher & let's you use dance as a cc tool instead of an ambush spam.
"Difficulty" is obviously a subjective term. Im learning Unh.-DK now and I played rogue, frost mage, r-shaman, feral druid and s-priest and I would put unholy DK to intermediate unless u have great keybindings and the routine to use everything at any time. Furthermore u need to have good add ons to give u an overview of your cooldowns. Comparing the water elemental of the mage to the DKs pet, I find the ghoul waaay more difficult to manage. So in my opinion the unholy Dks "difficulty" is highly dependant on the visibility of your cooldowns to manage both of his ressources efficiently+ an effective keybind-routine (obv. not comparable to hunter but its still quite a bit).
DK's are pretty intuitive in general and u dont have to worry about running out of mana, which is refreshing. But managing which ability requires which ressource or which particular rune definitely requires a good "set up"+HUD and experience.
It is certainly. I think there is some objectivity to it as well though. But in the grand scheme of things I think all of them are "difficult" to play well. Just to varying degrees. When I was first learning DK way back in the original late wrath, I thought they were extremely hard and complex. Then after enough repetition and trying other classes I think they aren't as much. But again just my opinion. I will be playing one quite a bit nonetheless and I love the class.

I play both specs and I just feel that warrior is less forgiving and has to manage it's positioning far better than a DK who has so many tools to not die. Not by a lot mind you and that's why I put them still close to each other
I leveled a hunter to 70 and grinded brutal gear. I can't do it. I had to reroll man, the class is insanely punishing. Especially vs the sheer number of DKs and warriors that are going around rn. You just get completely run over if you misstep once.
Hard to judge at 70. By 80 you'll have Master's Call, Freezing Arrow, Scatter as MM, and Kill Shot. Kiting Warriors and DKs is easier with those tools, and you'll have more killing power. Stick with it IMO.
@Blank Yeah that's how it feels in general and not just versus melee. If you don't avoid proper cc or big wizard burst windows it's also insanely punishing. Also, it's very hard to gear them optimally so it's certainly a big investment imo. You have to be a die-hard hunter to be somebody like homerjay. BUT you can still have tons of fun, do extremely well, and enjoy the satisfaction of playing well with it
another thing you didnt mention with hunter is that their aspects are off the gcd. so youre aspect dancing independent of everything else.
True and the mana management of aspect of the viper that also has it's damage reduction can mess up kill opportunities
Wrong. Changing Aspect triggers global cooldown, which weakens hunters But i agree that mana management adds another layer of difficulty to the class.

There is no possible way Druid healer should be on the same level as shaman and priest.
priests and shamans have more tools, but druid gets punished much harder which kinda evens it out. like if you dont prehot a hardswap you instadie.
priests can still shield themselves etc.

Fake casting, pet management, low burst meaning cc chains needed for kills… how is that at all comparable to beastcleave enha
I've played a lot of lock particularly as affliction and destro(more as affliction) I think you're overestimating how much they have to do a bit. Positioning does matter but port shores up alot of the skill in positioning since you can of course just hit a button and your not positioned great. If the hunter makes 1 mistake which is easy to do when everything is happening very quickly you might just lose. But with afflock you might just hit the wrong dot order or the wrong curse, or simply get kicked in shadow so you just start spamming searing pain or what not. I still put them in intermediate I didn't say they were easy. The CC chains mostly consist of just hitting fear which has no cooldown and an extremely fast cast, also it doesn't break instantly to damage like a poly so you can just hit it on almost any target at any time even spam it
Chaos bolt goes through deterence, and fire mage talent makes you immune for the next interrupt only, not for the whole 20 seconds, it's weird that a rank 1 player dosent know such things.
How is it weird? Your comment is weird... Knit picking through his video for what? He is a healer main, and doesn't play those classes. I am sure most rank 1 players don't know every little detail of every class, especially the classes that they don't play. The best players are constantly learning and improving, it is one of the reasons they are the best. This notion that rank 1 players know every little detail of every class is just asinine.
@@conjj17i have seen a hunter guide on this channel, if you make a guide on a class, it means you have to know it very well, not knowing something as basic and those simple two things i listed means alot, anyways, your obviously biased for playing the defender, so i wont argue further with you, by the way, i have nothing against the guy, just saying.
@@blayck8666 Could have just been the first spell that came to mind when he said it and not that he doesn't know but rather just said the first big spell that came to mind forgetting that it goes through deterrence. Not like it makes a huge impact on what he was saying or change the point he was trying to make. Seems slightly irrelevant to point that out in the scheme of things.

@Blayck You know, people make verbal flubs in small sentences. Try talking for 38 minute about a very complex game and remember every single minute detail. Also, the fire mage talent if you just think about it logically, the fact that it gives you immunity to an interrupt for SO LONG. It almost is a permanent immunity to kicks, as you can easily play fire mage where you never cast outside of a time when they are CC'd with DB/blanket/knockback/other teammates cc/etc.

Calling ret brainless could only come from somebody who has either never played them to a decent level, or just hits 6 dps buttons and thinks that's all a ret does. Also if you think prot warrior isn't the hardest warrior spec or at the VERY least close to arms, you have also never played it to a decent level. I say this knowing that the only way someone could call either of these brainless/faceroll is if they are completely ignorant or terrible themselves
