You should mention that warpal is mostly dominating the high MMR because Scripts/Hacks are used a lot. Warrior is the easyiest scriptable class and paladins can have a file to make their sacred cleansing avoid almost any spells.
Warmane is full of nonlegit scripters, nolifers that spectate the que 24/7 and only snipe.
I was rank 1 multiple Times myself without any abuse, it works. But those warpal Teams you showed in the ladder are all nonlegit delusional idiots.
As a warmane Veteran i wanted to point that out so your viewers get some Insider informations.
But those things only affect you on higher MMR than you need to get bis gear.

Same, up until ~2.7k it was probably as legit as it could get. After that I started noticing literal 100% perfect gameplay over the span of 10 minutesxlike frame perfect spells. Kinda sad it is like that, sad that people do anything to get an advantage in a meaningless game.

Really corrupt server, like battlegroup 2 ist almost complete wintrade in soloq and reporting those guys just shows they got gm friends that protect them.
Even malaco once confirmed on stream that shinta for example hacked/scripted for to long without being punished and they were aware of that.

@@MEYTRIX well DK did get a pretty hardcore face slam set of nerfs shortly after release and I don't think blizz really brought them back until like close to end of mid or early end of expac and by then most people moved on to other stupid op classes, leaving DKs to those who stuck around. I went Frost from UH and by end of wrath frost was my favorite and I remember priests especially hating on me with the tunnel obli rape spam on cloth lol

Hey, i started playing on warmane, as aholy paladin, but my character doest show that buff display when infusion of light is active i only know through the sound or by seeing my flash of light getting a critical hit or by the announced words on screes "infusion of light" but nothing like like that icon displaying over the head of the palading nor holy light buttong flashing :(

yes, feral is a good choice in PvP on pretty much every expansion, but it is one of the classes that is harder to master since it has such a wide toolkit of what you can do, and hence, just as you said - also more potential to outplay other people, but you will have to invest a lot of your time to be really good at it
I'm a feral druid player... it's not as difficult as it seems and you have a lot going for it... cyclone, "instant" healing, bear stun, mobility, stealth, bleeding... knowing when to go from tiger to bear to normal form (heal) ... that's how I got to be full wrathful
It's very squishy, both for melees and casters. It relies on running around pillars and kiting your opponent. If you like this playstyle - go ahead.

I remember I was just minding my own business waiting for raid to get into ICC when ret paladin walked out popped wings and went ham with 10-14k crits and deleted everyone outside then bubble hearted. Good times

I can definitely imagine it being really strong playing around DRs and kitting inbetween (if not one-shotting on the opener), but haven’t played against it myself, it would definitely require very skilled players with spot-on communication or great understanding of the tactic and CC chains in the specific games

@@LLLL-un8le it is probably at its strongest ever in TBC, since both classes are so OP even solo, so it's really hard to compete with that, but RM is still one of the best comps in the game on WotLK, especially on the earlier seasons it's often at the very top
Rogue was bad in wotlk. My prot pally could take on 2 rogues at the same time and still winning before patch 3.3.

One dk in the first 50 pvp teams on laddder !It sure is a good pvp class but lacking the mortal strike effect makes it less viable in higher rating it's very good in duels and aoe team fights as pressure. Top pvp classes that can go way up to rank 1 are: Frost mage , Spriest, Hybrid Ret, Destro Lock, and Rogue and as heals Hpala followed by Disc( in limited comps) . As comps: Hybred ret( the 1H spellpower + shield build)+ MM hunt or ele sham , destro lock+ ele sham = god comp , Spriest +frost mage= god comp , Arms warr+ hpala= god comp, Feral+disc and Rog+mage. These mostly can go way up on the ladder without any issues.
yep, I've noticed DKs are not a very popular choice on Warmane for some reason, but also in the earlier PvP seasons they tend to be more prevalent and DK's a beast for 1v1 and world PvP, so I consider that a lil bit too...thanks for your input, I will definitely try some of these comps myself! 😏
Funny that Hybrid Ret and Destro lock can make it to rank 1 with ele but ele is not in your list to make it to rank 1 :D
@@timotaglampe5979 ele is not so impressive in 1v1 and 2v2, it gets better the more targets it faces, that being said - it can still get very high on the leaderboards in any bracket, there are just generally better choices
@@timotaglampe5979 Never seen Elem anywhere near top ranks in Wowcircle in 2s. However they seem to be in like every top 3s team in Thundercleaves or LSP. For DKs Disc priest, Holy Pala or Ret Pala seem to be the best choices for 2s, MM Hunter or Arms warrior +Hpala for 3s. Also strong with Affliction warlock in 3s.

Nice vid, though i'd like to mention Frost Mage that is one of the strongest classs for dueling and the best caster against Warriors and Palas. Also ferals are really strong and when bis geared and skilled can kill Warriors, Dks and Paladins and at the same time can kill any mage or warlock with 2 bites.
Thanks for mentioning those classes! They are definitely very viable, being ret paladin main, I know the pain of fighting a frost mage 1v1 😓

Destro lock was for sure insane on wotlk. In arenas - me (frost mage) and my destro lock partner were enjoying absolute CC domination with almost no DR share. In 3v3 with a resto druid the same where cyclone (AFAIK) didn't share the DR with fear/seduce, neither with sheep. Sweet old times of 2.4k rating
Exactly, I just faced destro + frost mage yesterday and the 10 sec fears/seductions combined with polys and crazy dmg were too much 🤯
Even tho destros can play with hpallys, they really enjoy a more supportive healer in terms of purge + cc + interrupt, mostly fitting would be a resto shaman (also bringing bloodlust).
And while paladains are very strong healers, they are much less versatile than a discipline priest that can literally no joke play with ANY other class in the game successfully
What do you think about resto shamans?
They are solid, way better on other expansions (Cata for instance), but it is still even rank 1 viable if you can play it well enough
They can't dispel friendly targets, so you better play with those who doesn't need it. Resto Shaman are good with Destro or Affli Warlock, Feral Druid, Retri or Prot Pala in 2s, and with caster cleaves or Ret-MM in 3s.

I remember carrying this raiding girl who played unholy dk and had shadowmourn real early in 2s her damage was crazy I just had to slow her target and cc at the correct time and we would usually win we hit like 2150 and that was her first time doing arena with some one for real not just random skirms

You forgot the “Boomkin” or the Moonkins for Druids. They absolutely wrecked entire battlegrounds, especially Wintergrasp!

They are insane for AoE with Starfall especially, but outside of that, just a good class with good offhealing and big AoE burst, there are more impressive classes and specs on WotLK IMO

@@horatiolaine930 holy paladin is bad in 1v1, it does low dmg and most other classes have some sort of a heal...you wanna avoid priests mostly since they can dispel your bubbles, and overall holy paladin is the best healer for most situation, and also the easiest to play (r sham is also super-powerful on Cata), ret on Cata is also amazing - one of the best times to play the spec ever, so whichever you play - holy or ret, you can be competitive with both easily

I don’t think I’d have an addon for combat text, maybe it’s in the footage from other players that I included in this video
Holy & Arms are on an entire different S+++ tier as long as Shadowmourne exists.
Ret/Preg/Prot don't really fill the same power description. Just look at any non season 8 wotlk pvp ladder and you'll see classes presented way more evenly.
It's also kinda weird that you speak of "easy rotations" as if we were playing PvE. Preg Paladins might only have a few offensive damage spells but you do actually need to cleanse, heal, shield, sac, freedom yourself and teammates and the right time. I personally find it way easier to play rogue where I can't use spells on my teammates and just need to worry about damaging and ccing enemies. It's just not as black and white as you make it seem.
I agree with you, but I also take into consideration how easy it is relative to other classes to win in PvP, you don’t have to be a perfect supporter to still perform really well as ret or preg (it is necessary on high ratings ofc), also the point I am making by putting paladin specs so high is that it is 1 class with so many different yet still viable spec options, that’s what makes it so amazing, but alone, arms would be better
Preg is 100x easier than sub rogue

I have seen many opinions on Warman, but since there obviously is no concensus to find about it... Imagine you got a free Shadowmourne, which class would you give it to, where it would fulfill the most potential? That being for PVP and PVP, or both :D
thanks Jesper, I guess giving any kind of BiS gear on warriors is the most beneficial, since it's the class that has always benefited from the gear most - at least in WotLK, Cata, idk about the more modern expansions...and Shadowmourne also gives you Armor Penetration, which warriors benefit from the most out of all the classes that can have it + the Shm effect cleaves which goes hand in hand with arms' great cleave damage
How's Shadow Priest in pvp? Both arena and BGs?
Very good, WotLK is one of the best expansion to play it - it is one of the top picks in all kinds of pvp, even including world pvp and 1v1
In later patches affl. lock is best even for wizcleave
And DK would one-deag anything at first, but was nerfed and was per 3.3.5 one of the worst classes in arena

I´m not a big fan of Twinks so i just need 1 class which can do(and being good at) PVE(semi progress) + PVP(Arena high rating and also BG) + Solocontent // with Dualspec

If dps then go warlock for ranged or rogue for melee, they both have specs performing really well in both PvE and PvP, for other specs definitely druid where you can cover all roles and it’s also probably the best choice for solo content too

Druid and Paladin have a lot of different and playable specs in PVE and PVP. Warlock, Mage, Warrior also can be very strong in both PVE and PVP.
Priest can also be a good choice if you're willing to master it in PVP (it's hard).
of the classes that I will mention below how would you classify in a top 5?
- War arms
- Warlock Destro or aff
- Priest Shadow
- Dk Unholy
- Pala retri
these are all really strong picks - awarr obviously top in 2v2 with H pal or disc priest, TSG in 3v3, solid even for 1v1 and does insane damage...both destro and aff lock are playable on high ranting, I personally prefer big hits so I would go with destro, both specs have insane CC, aff is usually better the more opponents you face - 3v3, BGs, mass PvP...SP is like a warlock that can also support with dispels and healing, great for 1v1, in 2v2 with a rogue or frost mage...Uh DK is a pretty straight-forward class, usually gets outshined by awarriors though, great in all aspects, but usually not the best...I love ret's playstyle on WotLK - sustained healing, amazing support, dispels on your partners, especially good in 1v1 and 2v2...overall you won't go wrong with any of these classes, it's even hard to rank one above the other because all are viable and you are literally able to hit top ranks with any of them
Awar is insanely strong with BiS gear, including ShM. But he is also kinda vulnerable to caster cleaves, cannot do anything in novas, requires right positioning and a fair amount of experience and skill to really shine in PvP. In comparison, DK has a ton of defensive and offensive cooldowns, hard to stop and to CC, has a gargoyle, a pain in the ass for any caster, not so hard to master.
Retribution is about not only damaging and controlling, but also supporting your teammates with dispel, heal and defensive abilities.
Destro Warlock is extremely powerful in BGs and arena 2s, he can kill targets within seconds. You need to learn how to land your controls and how to manage your Succubus. He doesn't have like any defensive cooldowns other than maybe health stone and relies on Soul link to stay alive, so if your demon is killed, you will die next.
Affliction warlock is very strong in arenas 3s, for it's multiple DoTs of all enemies. Less tanky than Destro.
Shadow Priest is really hard to master. You will need to learn how to survive, control, damage and dispel targets, dispel and heal your teammates at the same time. And surviving is the hardest part of it. Any melee class can tear you apart in seconds and you can't run away from them.

Sham ele or resto both very strong
Arms war
Walock aff or destro
Spriest during end patches (apply vampiric and watch people die) its just stupid really, against some classes
Frost mage etc..
Dont even think about ret being top, high res rating = sad ret noises

They are both amazing in wotlk, with destro you can run double dps comps with an ele sham or a frost mage, with aff you will want a healer by your side, both warlock specs are extremely viable in arena so you wouldn’t ho wrong with either of them

play affl in fist 2 seasons. believe me u will have a smoother time because of low resilience gear. destro has less haste rating, less crit and less resilience which makes him crab to play in arena unless youre ultra skilled

even the SHM classes do big dmg without it, depends on the kind of match - ele shamans/boomkins do insane AoE - good for BGs and 3v3, ret paladins do insane single target burst damage, DKs with Gargoyle are destructive

Why did you choose Lock over say Hunt or Ele?
because warlock (especially destro) sucks on many expansions, while hunt is literally always one of the top picks in any bracket, and ele is very comparable to affliction (viable almost always in BGs and 3s), but again - I was focusing on the fact that destro is finally not just viable, but kicks ass big time

Proc Pally hybrid w/ Holy Gear - just about unkillable - heals well enough to keep a 2-3 man team alive. When they throw their hammer it does almost 50% damage. The best flag carrier in WSG

@@MEYTRIX I've been looking. I can't find it anywhere. Remember this is 2008 and people were still using the Elitest Jerks blog to do specs. I got it from the WoW armory. I went online and looked up the top arena teams in my battlegroup to look at teams with pally. The top team in my battlegroup was using this. I had also read a blogger talk about this, but he just mentioned it and it got me curious.

I hated playing against a 3vs3 team in 2.1k who had a ret/prot paly. That shit was annoying.

Enh shamans are also underrated in my opinion. Spirit wolves are nice addition to your damage and pvp arsenal
True, prot warriors might be at its all time highest viability-wise in PvP, enh also does some crazy hits and has that heroism+wolves deadly combo

He was at 80% hp at 68 lvl
I also had a duel against blood and frost dks near honor hold when i was 62lvl

probably somewhere in the top 10, ele is really fking good in WotLK, especially in 3v3 and BGs is where it shines

@@janl5879 no, I haven't ever played WotLK PvP too actively until this year, but I have played couple hundreds of arenas on WotLK already and this is what I have noticed, if somebody asks MY opinion, I can give it, an opinion is not misinformation...you can also give your own opinion if it differs and provide a different perspective to the players that are asking, the comment section is not necessarily only for the interaction between me and others, but also between viewers themselves
@@LeXu48310 I've met some balance druids in 3v3 and I was like WTF IS THIS DAMAGE?! combined with the insane amount of CC abilities, it's a beast especially in 3v3 and BGs, and feral is a solid choice, especially in 1v1 and 2v2 with disc priest

Ele sham and frost mage??
Both amazing, ele is the king of 3v3 and AoE, and frost mage is one of the best specs for 2v2 double dps comps, huge burst and a ton of CC
I played on molten wow then to Warmane, had a 100% armor pen Hunter and would eat all there faces, I don’t care if they had shadowmourne , they would never get close enough to use it.

I mean its totally broken merely in bgs! The abuse of arp by hunters is turning any maxl lvl bg into a lvl19 huntertwink bg some odd high kill numbers will raise some eyebrows. Maybe thats the reason why hunters were nerfed extremely hard in Cataclysm as compensation.
But i think they are fine in controlled duels.
like u said 100 % arp. but u dont have that for about 16 months in wotlk classic :D
@@tarikhansen5966 Hunter burst/dmg becomes noticable with ulduar allready, but at launch with naxx not so much.
Too often when you search for pvp videos it's always about Arena and what's "best classes/specs" for it. Granted Arena *IS* fun to play but the game is more than just that. Having fun in (premade) BGs with guild/friendlist using voice and more is also ton of fun. When it comes to BGs ranged are usually prefered (MM hunter, Spriest, locks, ele shamans, arcane/fire mages etc etc). Don't mean to bash ppl here who may only play pvp with arena but be honest here, 90% of the playerbase ain't playing only to get rank 1 on the server, but a certain dedicated grp.
So what did we learn from this? Play what's most *fun* for you. The moment you stop having fun, is when those rerolling thoughts happens. Thx for the upload tho ofc.
That is a very good point! I plan on making similar kind of videos where I would go more through “what makes the class special and fun”, so that everyone can find the one he likes even without previously playing it themselves
I totally agree with holy paladin being number one most op spec in wotlk. I'm not so sure about the rest of the paladin specs though. Sure they deal a lot of damage, they hard to kill, easy to play etc, but they had a lot of trouble against any ranged magic spec.
I think you should have included shadow priest in the list. An argument could be made for bis subtlety rogue, but this was probably the hardest spec to play in the game back then, so it was crazy strong only in skilled hands.
I agree with you, an argument could be made for some other classes, shadow priest is rly good on WotLK, much better than Cata shp for instance, rogues are OP almost on every expansion so they are not as crazy impressive on WotLK IMO, and just as you said - the simplicity of paladin along with different roles they can cover makes them more impressive as a class overall rather than spec, otherwise a warrior would probably be ranked higher

im a fury warrior... arms warrior is nice, but when i get into fights i always think to myself... why is this mages rotation 3 keys when i have to hit every last ability

enh is amazing, especially 2v2 with ret or preg, 1v1 also, ele is OP in 3v3 and resto is a decent healer, but most of the time outperformed by holy paladin

resto druid is amazing, sometimes even better than the almighty holy paladin, although it has a higher skillcap - tons of CC and so on, it's legit contender for rank 1, especially in 3v3
You are forgetting disc priest being super overpowered aswell.
Idk if I would call it OP, they are very squishy and they only work in comps where their teammates peel for them…but if they can get the upper hand and dispel spam from afar, then they are super dangerous

@@MEYTRIX I agree in a 1v1 against melee it’s strong but against anything that can purge you gotta get a lucky CS and kill fast I play frost mage and swapped my paladin to preg and got 1800 very quick because 90% of rogues on sulfuras are mongo and it’s just easier to find a dk I’m stoked for cata though

For me arcane is the best, always top killing blows (usually top 3 in damage) and its great in arenas too (more comfortable in 3s for me) in 2s I just prefer to go frost and find a srogue/spriest. But really arcane is amazing in BGs, definitely recommended. It's easy to play as well, just watch out to run away from hunters and mind your positioning and ur good to go (I guess you can say this for most classes lmao)
Disc priest is best pvp healer.
not if his partners leave him alone, warriors and unholy DKs would destroy it alone

Great list but I’d put mages and hunters there. They are better than ret paladins in arena. They got so much CC, damage and survability

thats not even true. look at S5 to S7 leaderboards. Pregs and Rets are way more present in high ratings than hunter or mage are. only in S8 with 100% ARP hunter gets busted. only BM in S5 is good. other Seasons except S8 they are pretty weak.

Frost mage? I can't believe you mentioned Destro Lock but forgot about master of controlling - Frost mage. Yes, it's hard to master, but Frost Mage - Shadow Priest comp is the only comp that can compete with Awar-Hpal even for the highest ranks in the ladder
I also took into consideration how the classes/specs perform on other expansions - frost mages are pretty much always top tier, especially on TBC, while destro lock is oftentimes a lackluster spec, also paladins have never been this viable in every single spec, that's why they go so high in my ranking

it is more balanced and everyone can have legendary cloak
better and slower pvp, no instant deaths
too slow for my liking, but it's still one of my favorite expansions nonetheless

nah rogues are legit good in wrath its just that you need to be a good rogue you can't just kill in 1 stunlock like vanilla all bad rogues will reroll come classic wrath

Most of the classes/specks in the list made it into the list just because of one single item... or item combination gathered from PvE.
I have always found it kind of sad, that to be "good at PvP" you actually need PvE items. I wish blizzard would "level the playing field" and simply block PvE items in BGs and Arenas (don´t care about world PvP that much). Then and only THEN we would get to see skill VS. skill (similar / same PvP eq) and not Shadowmourne + PvE trinkets VS. skilled players. By the way, there is no doubt in my mind that Shadowmourne + PvE items in WOTLK beats ALL and it was the GREATEST mistake that Blizzard has made in WOTLK PvP.
Just have a look at the state of Warmane PvP, with its in-game shop and the possibility to buy a Shadowmourne, 2/3 of BGs consist of melee classes with Shadowmourne. I hope it won´t be the same in WOTLK classic.
there are some private servers that ban the usage of PvE items in PvP, but I don't think Blizzard would make such drastic changes on any of their Classic era realms
