About dowry, I think here in Himachal things are better then other state. Urban people and rural people don't pressurize their family to give dowry compulsory. If bride family don't want to give it then thats all. I got married in 2018 December and gosh.. there were so many guests, like only relatives and family friends.. especially since my wedding was the first wedding on my gen from my side of family while for my husband it was last of his gen. Though there was definitely some extravaganza on my wedding, I had fun and loved every moment of it
