Hey bro what time are we coming coming
Hey man. Any videos on building patio tied into rooftop?
Never buy pre made
I'm shocked that you guys actually pointed out your mistakes. That's awesome not a lot of people do that. And for that I give you two thumbs up
Appreciate it!!
I lost my fence in Hurricane Beryl on july 8th and I just found out that the insurance company is a waste of time. I had doubts about building a fence but after watching this I feel confident now that we can do this. Thanks man.
I followed your instructions and absolutely nailed it. Crushed it. Doing this myself saved me possibly $3,000 or more.
No pun intended
Thanks for putting this video together, Andrew. I will be using this to tear my current fence down and build a new one. Nicely done!
Glad it helped, Paul! Good luck with your project!
Amazed you took on this particular project now with the astronomically high prices of lumber. The costs are prohibiting me from doing lots of needed renovations. I enjoy your videos!
Fortunately, I took on this project last summer before lumber prices exploded. However, I am looking to build a shed in the coming weeks and the lumber prices are killer...I appreciate you watching and thanks for the comments!
@@AndrewThronImprovements Thanks for responding. Economic Ninja predicts lumber prices will come down by this summer. Maybe you should wait a few months on that shed. Might be worth it. Continue tiling and painting for now!!
Lumber is supposed to be getting super low soon just fyi July 10, 2024
@@AndrewThronImprovementswhere is the shed video!?
Thank you Andrew my son and I will be doing this your video has made me confident that we can accomplish the job and do it right based on the expert guidance that you provide in your video thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and your time it's so appreciated and has removed the fear from a test that was totally overwhelming but needed to be done! ❤️
Glad it helped, Tanya! Good luck with your project!!
My daughters and I will try this before winter starts. Good video, thanks for sharing.
Getting ready to repair the privacy fence at my house. Thanks for the tips. I feel a lot better about the upcoming job now.
By far my favorite fence installation video that gives me motivation to DIY.
Love this! My husband & I just bought a home in August & 2 sides of the fence need replacing. It’s the same Dog ear type, but I think all the posts need replacing too. I’ll be excited to try this in the spring!
This is awesome! Very clear instructions. Definitely coming back to this video when I go to build my privacy fence!
Thank you for sharing the cost $ I’ve been quoted $10,000 & $6,000 glad to know that you spend less than $2,000 I just need to put in the time and LABOR! 😅😎
When you mixed the concrete before you put it in the hole.....i liked the video immediately. Great job lol
Appreciate it! It’s the right way to do it haha
Great video, and looks like you're doing a bunch of manageable weekend projects. Looking forward to catching a bunch more of them while I'm on my own project list.
Appreciate it, William! Thanks for watching 🤙
You make it look so easy I want to try this myself. I need a fence but I got a few quotes ranging from 5k-8k.
Thanks for watching! Goodluck with your project!
That sounds accurate
Thanks for your video...im building a privacy wall and now I have a better idea thanks to your video.
Thanks for watching! Good luck with your project!
Hey man, my name is Robert. And I just wanted to say, you doing a great job helping us out. Gray job ,I love it. Thanks again.
I appreciate it! Thanks so much for watching and good luck with all of your projects!
When i built my fence, only thing i did differently was to use 16' 2x4 for more stability and strength. Its redundant, but very satisfying when its complete.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Looking to replace our low pickets to privacy fencing to block out our neighbors. Needed to see this as a refresher.
So detailed I feel like I can do this myself. Thanks Drewskiii!!
I am going to use this video as a reference when I build my fence this week!
Very nice video! I gave you a thumbs up and I liked the attention to detail. You’re definitely right about dropping the perfection of square and using your eyeballs to ensure it is esthetically pleasing. Something about foregrounds and backgrounds will cause perfection to not look so perfect. Great video!
Great tutorial, easy to follow and absolutely done correctly. Thank you!!
Congrats and thanks for taking your time to teach others.
So this video super awesome and I love glue you showed the price we all needed this thank you
Best video yet. Production values are great.
I appreciate it Alexander! Thanks for the continued support 👍
Just built something similar and something to consider is the cost of staining the fence is insane. I did this instead of a pvc fence because I wanted to save some Money but to stain both sides it was another $800 to the cost. Unless your planning on letting your hard work turn grey something to consider if your budgeting this project.
Great video, you can probably multiply the lumber prices by 2 with today's inflation.
Excellent video. You make GREAT suggestions and tips!! Thanks!!
I subscribed after the backflip - Well Done!
Fantastic finish!!Good work for weekends!!!
Good stuff Was thinking of buying Fence Panels which would be a bit more expensive compared to the Pickets
Your giving my guidance in life brother ❤️
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
Love it, I plan on doing a fence like this to my new home ☺️
Good luck!
Commenting to improve your algorithm results; and I learn something new each time.
You are good at explaining thank you for this video.
The one thing I don't see anymore nowadays for wooden fences, is white picket fences, or any painted fence. Everything is bare wood or stained. I like the look of a painted fence to match the house. Unpainted wood fences I think in my area just fell out of fashion for some reason.
I just bought a house and there "fence" was 2 cinder block stacked on top of each other with the fence post sat in the holes for rails. SO being a good neighbor I painted the cinder blocks in multiple bright colors!
Man Glitter is huge!
Great video. Just gave me a reason to do it myself 🙏🏾
( : Awesome! Thanks for posting. I'll be sharing with my son who will be building a fence this summer.
Nice!! Big help for a fence I need to build! 🤟
This was awesome!! Nice job! 👍 Curious though. My yard has a bad slope to it. Suggestions on handling something like that?
Great Video , I will be starting a project soon and this was amazing information and very easy to follow. Fencing Looks amazing! Thank You
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Andrew I love the video thank you for explaining everything. If you have any leftover black paint I would paint the top of the gate to give it a nice accent and would match your other fencing. Great video like your others.
nice fence
nice job and nice adjustments on the fly!
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
Great video, thank you for sharing your work 👍🏼
I think we can do this, great instructions.
Good luck!
Great work! So helpful to see how you did this, step by step!
WOW looking at those lumber prices back then 2 years ago makes me cry
Thinking of replacing my fence soon.
What would you rate this as on 1-10 difficulty?
I'm not super handy but have a lot of the necessary tools to do this job
Excellent content. Succinct and detailed. Thanks!
Umm that old fence still looked great
Fantastic job really like how you did that. So I have a heel, not a s**** like a straight app heel in my backyard, and I want to put a fence app, but I'm so, yeah, I'm confused on how to do it because literally it just drops straight down and uh, I think this video is going to help me a lot with trying. To figure out where the put posts and everything. Do you have any more videos? Similar to this one, that explains just a little bit more in detail?
Good job, fence looks great 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
The only issue with using treated 2x4 as railing you’re going to end up with alot of warped and twisted rails. As a professional, I like to sell my customers pre stained sections already assembled. Pre assembled sections will hold up longer. From experience.
That’s a good point! Usually, I try to let the lumber dry out as much as possible before installing, but some twisting seems pretty much inevitable unfortunately
Well done. Why did you go with individual pickets over the pre-made panels?
THX MAN....NICE VIDEO. KNOWLWDGE IS FUTURE MONEY
How many bags of concrete are you using on each 4x4?
Great Job! I'm about to take on this task here soon. Did you get any volume discount at home depot?
Future proof house use by making g ir wheel chair friendly as it allows access for infirm elderly or wheel chair users
Nicely done!
Great video. What Nailer, nails and gauge nails did you use? I have a framing nailer and am having trouble finding nails less than 2"
Great tutorial, thanks!
Just beauitful, great job
How did you know how much pickets you needed?
Awesome video. How would you do a curved fence for a round garden?
Is there a wait time for the concrete to dry? Do you top it off with dirt. Ian just hit Orlando and I need to fix one side. Thanks for any help.
Thanks KEEP GOING!
Not perfect?? Looks perfect to me, love it
Awesome video I was just wondering with setting your fence posts in concrete is there anything you should do at then have pressure-treated wood I’ve heard of guys say that wood post in bconcrete will eventually rot from the moisture is there anything to do to prevent this?
Great video and I have a question.. how do you get a string line level and how do you know it's level?
How much did you actually save buying all the materials separate as opposed to prefab fence panels?
Great job 👏
Does rain/frost mess with the fence at all? Like does it Rot the wood away?
OVERALL IT TURNED OUT NICE, GOOD JOB AND THANKS FOR THE INFO, A FRIEND OF MINES JUST CALLED WANTING TO BUILD A PICKET FENCE AND YOUR VIDEO IS VERY HELPFULL..THANKYOU. I ADDED A LIKE ALSO,WELL DESERVED.
Great video! I have a fence company coming over to look at my rotted fence and give me a quote for replacement. Looking at the materials it might cost me close to 2k, so I'll see what the fence company quotes me and will consider doing it myself. I'm curious how long this took you to complete?
thinking about doing the same thing thanks for the help
Good luck!
You can more than double the cost for materials today. Good job on this video.
Honestly, that’s probably the unfortunate truth. Thanks for watching!
Quick tip fence would look a lot better if slats ran at the same height the posts are not above them. From the inside it won’t look good
I would put the pickets on my side so my family would see the beautiful side.
It’s common curtesy to put the “nice side” facing outward
City code where I live says the finished side has to face the public. It’s common here to double hang the pickets so both sides are finished. Costs more but…
@@RockforJesus777 I love that doubling idea!
So cool. Loved it
Great video man! Trying to do my fence this summer so this is a great tutorial to have handy!!
Glad it was helpful! Good luck with you project this summer!
Inspired. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Do you have plans for gates that need to be removable (2-3) to allow tiny home/trailer to exit if I sell my property. Thoughts? Wide width gate on one side with metal support in ground for stability?
Good looking fence my guy
Thanks
Will definitely use this
I appreciate it!
Beautiful 💕
Hey Andrew, how is the pine picket holding up after a year since installation? I am wanting to redo my fence but have heard the cheaper pickets from lowes/home depot arent the best. Would love to hear how they are doing so far. Thanks!
Hey Austin! Two years later and it is holding up great!
What about the 6x6x8 post as well?
Great Video! Thank you!
Nice! 👍
Excellent , Thank You!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome job!!!
Awesome video I was just wondering with setting your fence posts in concrete is there anything you should do at then have pressure-treated wood I’ve heard of guys say that wood post in concrete will eventually rot from the moisture is there anything to do to prevent this?
I wonder if dipping the ends in that flex seal stuff would work?
Pretty damn good! 🙌🏽
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video.
