  • Have you been asking yourself if you should build a fence yourself or get someone else to do it. Well if you are not afraid of getting your hands dirty and like to take on a challenge, this project is perfect for you. I will show you how to build a fence from start to finish, from digging the first hole to the final spray when staining the fence. I will also show you a few mistakes I make to make your experience that much smoother.
    I saved approximately a minimum of $2000 from the labor alone if someone else built it. Sit back and enjoy the video & I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions or comments down in the comment sections.

      As someone who’s going to be building my own fence this winter, I agree. There’s another video on here about how to build a fence gate which I also love, but I’ve gone back to these two videos over and over. This video has answered several questions I’ve had with every other fence video. This video even has the added bonus of the gate and staining - things you also have to do on every fence project. So it’s great to have it all in one concise video.

Only thing with the neighbor she really didn’t want a fence so we moved our fence line 6 inches towards our side so she couldn’t say anything. She also did not help pay for the fence so its all mine. Im sure being a handyman you won’t have an issue with the fence. Your only enemy would be this heat🥵. Keep up the great work sir and let us know if you need anything. Have a blessed day 😁😎✌️

      As long as you try, thats more of a start than someone that called someone to build it for them. If you are able bodied, I believe anyone can do it. Get a family member or friend to help if needed. Im proud that the thought of trying at least came to your mind. So sorry for the late reply. Its been a rough couple of months. @@sabrinadessources1275 🙏🙏🥺Thank you so much for your blessing. I have been in need of prayers since September of last year. I will be making an update video and will release it as soon as it is finished. My faith has definitely been kicked up into high gear and it has helped tremendously. I currently feel 110%. You will be the first person to know what I have been dealing with, as far as RUclips comments go. Back in late January of this year and dealing with many neurological symptoms, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. An autoimmune disease that tells your own immune system to eat inflammation, which it is so supposed to, but it targets the nerves of your brain and spinal cord. It eats the inflammation but the body tells the disease to keep eating and it eats away at the coating that covers the nerves from your brain which causes neurological deficits. It’s actually more common in females. 66% compared to 33% for males. The percentage chance of me getting MS is 0.1%. I remain positive and do what I have to do in order to prolong my life and health. There is currently no cure for MS but I will be starting a monthly shot treatment once a month to keep the attacks from happening. I will be fine and I explain much more in the update video coming soon. Thank you for your blessings and prayers. Have yourself a blessed day😁🙏🙏🙏🙏

    My first video of yours I have seen and I must say, Great job Sir! IMO I would have put a small gap in between slats for a little extra wind draft, I know it’s only a 6ft fence and doesn’t block much but every little bit of wind helps on a hot day! :) Also, here in Florida we are required to have the “pretty side” facing outward even if it’s towards the neighbors house… Keep up the good work my friend! 👍🏻

    • @FunkyColdMedinaDIY
      @FunkyColdMedinaDIY  8 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you very much for the kind words. Yes I didn’t space the pickets since I knew that they would shrink as time went on. Currently there is a 1/4 inch gap in between the pickets. I tried looking up which face to have the fence but could not find anything here in Houston, Texas. BUT my neighbor had been giving me a hard time and she did not want a fence, but we did for 14 years. I finally said “enough is enough, I am tired of waiting”. So I said screw it and got my survey. I actually built the fence 8 inches away from her property line so that way it would be MY fence and she couldn’t say anything. Is that the right thing to do? I am not sure but I will not take it down. So far no problems and me and the neighbor are still on good terms. I hope you were not affected by the hurricane, if so, I pray everything is ok. Thank you for your comment and have a blessed day. Thank you for the Florida love😁😎✌️

    Thank you for the great video.
    You make it look easy and give me courage to do some fence building myself 🙂
    Do you think this gate design would work for a ~10.5/11 foot driveway gate?
    I am thinking about using 3 of the 12 in. extra heavy t-hinges (Harbor Freight), with a 6x6x8 pole, 2 feet in the ground like yours.
    And a Heavy-Duty Gate Wheel (Home Depot) on the unsupported end, for rolling on a level concrete driveway.
    Thanks!

      Hello Adam, I don’t see why not. The hinges are very strong and as long as the diagonal brace is oriented correctly, you shouldn’t have any sag. If it was me, I would dig the hole 3 feet. For my corner post that had the gate, I dug it 2 1/2 feet. Maybe a little overkill, but I definitely didn’t want any sagging and wanted a firm corner post for the rest of the fence. So far the fence is doing great and the gate has not sagged at all. Thank you for your comment and let me know if you have any other questions. Have a blessed day😁😎✌️Sorry for the late reply
