How much do you get paid at Basic Military Training or Bootcamp? This is one of the biggest concerns people have before leaving as many of you have bills and responsibilities that you have to pay for monthly. This video is a generalized answer and the actual amount might be a little more or less depending on taxes and other factors while in the military. #sponsored #ad

Airman Vision is run by Kyle Gott. Kyle is an Air Force Veteran who served 6 years and honorably separated as an E-5 Staff Sergeant. He started making videos on this channel to document his journey joining the United States Air Force back in 2013 and continues to help set future Airmen up for success.
The videos on this channel represent the individual opinions of those speaking and do not reflect thoughts of the Air Force, DOD, or US Government.
I ship tommorow. Couldnt be more perfect timing!
I shipped tomorrow as well. There is a GC on Snapchat if you're interested in joining.
@@champagnealec what’s your sc?
Same!
I like how you keep it simple and give people the knowledge to do it themselves.
Yeah, that's one of our goals this year, to not overcomplicate things 😅 haha.
Graduating in June I’m a Eagle Scout and have completed. 4 years of jrotc I’m going to enlist your videos are so helpful even the ones going back 4 years
Can you do a video about the Space Force? What do they do? What is the propuse of the new branch
A flawless video from an awesome person. You're really are changing the game
If your spouse is also in the military, do you both receive BAH, or only one of you? I’d love to see a video on dual military (pros, cons, benefits, dependents, etc)!
Hey Kyle I am wondering where I can get that hoodie from and if you are selling them
Hi Kyle! First and foremost, thank you for your (and Makenna's) videos! I am awaiting my ship date to basic for the NH Air National Guard and I couldn't feel more prepared thanks to you both. My question is, will I still receive BAH since I have a son but am not married?
I am not for sure how that works, do you have to temporarily give up custody of your son while you're in training? if so, then I would assume you won't get BAH. I'm not really sure how that works though, you'd have to talk to your recruiter and they may not even know because it's not a super common situation. sorry I don't have an answer for this.
i ship out Feb 1st wish me luck
video starts at minute 3
Unrelated but are there waivers for tattoos in the airforce?
Are the monthly amounts after taxes or is it gross?
shipping in february
Good
Hey kyle, where did you get your numbers from? The military pay app estimated E-1 pay to be around $1,833 per month.
before taxes, health care, GI bill, social security is taken out, yes you make $1,833. This video was to tell you how much will actually go into your bank account.
So someone who's single and has about 20% taken out for taxes would get about $2,880 for the 8 weeks of bmt before equipment and stuff being taken out
You will receive your money by direct deposit, correct 🤔
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought if you signed a 6 year to put on e3 you wouldn't get e3 till after tech school? So through bmt you'd still be paid e1 rate?
Correct.
I leave for basic on the 11th of this month
Same
Don't worry it will go by fast
Why is your numbers different then online says for pay?
Because every year the pay changes, it also depends what deductions were factored in
OMG 1,400 for E1! When I went in it was $501.40 per month
Yeah I was making just over $600/month when I joined. Everything increases overtime though so it all evens out, sort of... because military pay increases still don't keep up with inflation. haha
must have been a long time ago
@@AirmanVision this is true!!
How do i go in with extra rank ?
College credit, JROTC and a few other ways
bo BAS?
When you’re in training, they give it to you and take it right back. You get it if you aren’t on a defac plan.
If married with kids, do you still receive BAH while at Tech School?
Yes
Is 25 a bad age to join
you have to do what's best for you, it's not about age. it's about if you want to or not. I joined at 27
$15hr minimum wage still makes more a month sadly assuming they work full time 8 hours a day for 5 days a week is 40hrs so $15x8=$120x5=$600x4=$2,400 a month after taxes is less than that amount of course but that shows that military needs to give higher pay.
Buttttt you’re missing that the military is providing them with food 3 times a day and a place to live. Someone making minimum wage has to pay for that stuff after they get paid, while in the military what I just showed is how much you get after you’ve already got housing and food covered.
@@AirmanVision your right
Yeah ok not every state as minimum wage at 15 remember federal is 7.25 and then that 2400 is ate away quickly with rent and other essential bills
@@librarianrose4472 yea Ik
@@davontawilliams3958yea cause I def make less than 15hr😭
This isn’t correct. The pay has changed and all ranks are making more now just so y’all know
This is a generic answer, pay fluctuates based on taxes as well. Some states have high income tax and some have none. There is no 1 answer. These numbers were also calculated with the 2022 pay charts.
@@AirmanVision Could you provide the source?
Ahhhh man you cut ya hair😭😭 and the beard I’m lowkey sad
It was time 😆
First
Congrats
