Marc had his own band when he first started, and people would keep telling him he sounded so much like Freddie. He's appeared on some voice talent shows and even made an appearance on Ellen. Roger Taylor (Queen's drummer) said that during the sessions to built the tribute band, sometimes when he turned back and listened to Marc he felt like he really had something of Freddie.
Marc just sounds like Freddy. They have a very similar facial, and biology. Like Freddy Marc has never been trained either, he is also a naturally gifted singer. Marc sang with the Official Queen tribute band, and did the vocals for the movie Bohemian Rhapsody.
He is a Canadian singer who had a band called Down here who were pretty successful. He won a world wide talent contest to front a queen tribute band put together by the band themselves. You should check out his audition tape from that, incredible cover of somebody too love
If you are interested in more of Marc's "Freddie" stuff - he has done recordings of We Are the Champions, Bohemian Rhapsody, and You Take My Breath Away (my personal favourite) - he has also done a recording called "The Mercurotti" - where he sings Nusen Dorrma and sings as both Freddie and Pavarotti. more marc videos! i have been traversing youtube asking reactors to take a look at him. he's truly something great, both in his own music and covers. also, the second song is a cover as well though, it's a tom waits song. my favorite covers (outside of queen songs) are his renditions of radiohead's karma police & the righteous brothers, unchained melody. hope to see you reacting to more of his music. he's also touring this year extensively, so if yr companion there would like to see him live he most likely could! i know i will be in july. :)
His interpretation of the late Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah and Whitney Houston's I will Always Love you along with his cover of some 90's songs will melt your heart, guaranteed!

Did you both see his Bohemian Rhapsody take? I've posted this on other reaction videos so people can consider talking points about Marc's performance. Chime in as I'm sure other performers have so much more with which to weigh in here. What people have to remember is that in order to refine and stick this performance, Martel would have had the awesome opportunity to hear multiple instances of Freddie's raw studio tracked performances for this undertaking-- a phenomenal job, to say the least! It's not easy to hear, say 5 or 6 (possibly a boat load more), well-done tracks by a great singer and then put together an amalgam of the parts you're going to emulate in a single track for a very demanding fan audience from concerts, videos, and now film! Well done, Mr. Martel! Freddie is the best male vocalist of all time, and Queen will always be one of my two favorite bands. That said, I really like Marc and while I can tell the difference between him and Freddie... There are moments where Marc sounds exactly like Freddie (like on many of his vowel pronunciations as you mentioned). Anyway, great reaction and really enjoyed your insights more than most of the voice teachers that do reactions!
Do you know why there are dislikes under this video (yes, I see them)? Because the guy does not attach any importance to this video at all and only grimaces (as if someone needs it). But I liked the video. Because of the girl's reaction.
