Marc Martel is who they used for Freddie's vocals in Bohemian Rhapsody. Well they used a mix of Freddie's actual vocals and Marc's.
This is my favorite reaction to Marc because you truly understand the beauty of his voice and talent and were able to put it into words. He is truly incredible and it is great that you have such a vast appreciation for his talent :)
The first time I heard him cover Mercury: I just closed my eyes and said: "Thank you for coming back and gracing us once more, darling."
It's a lot of fun watching someone else become a Marc Martel fan. ;) Marc told a story, in an interview, about Freddie's mother Jer Bulsara. She came up to him at Freddie's 70th birthday party in Montreux, and thanked him for keeping Freddie's memory alive.
2:36 - The difference in the voice is actually because Marc takes care of his voice. By the time Freddie Mercury sang this song, he had been abusing his voice for years. Marc can actually do things in concert, night after night, that Freddie could only do in the studio, with multiple takes and post production. Frequently, Freddie would have someone else sing the high notes in songs. Also, Queen always sang with a backing track where Marc sings all on his own. In this video, Marc is not trying to replicate Freddie Mercury's performance, but kind of give a "best of." There are quotes from Queen's drummer, Roger Taylor, in which he compares Marc's voice to Freddie's with terms such as uncanny, scary, and spine-chillingly identical.

Marc also has a long history with his Christian rock band, "downhere." He now sings with "Queen Extravaganza" (Queen's official tribute band), "Ultimate Queen Celebration" (his own tribute band), as well as "Black Jacket Symphony," and in "Symphonic Queen" in Mexico, and in solo appearances. i really like marc and of course Pavarotti is unique, with is color of voice and delivery. thank god we live in an age were artist are recorded and we can hear them. :)

I was just a little kid when Freddie died so I never got to hear or see him live. I’m so thankful that Marc is here now so I can experience a fraction of what it would be like to hear him 😭 😭 😭

Every weekend growing up, my parents would have records playing all day. I literally grew up listening to Freddie's voice. He died when i was 11, and i was still too young to know about any of the things surrounding his life..and his death...but i was certainly old enough to realize something beautiful had been taken from us..from me. Seeing these videos, and hearing Marc sing reminds me of those feelings, and i genuinely enjoy every one. I love that it seems to universally unite the masses. Possibly the only thing any of us can agree on these days is that this man is fantastic, and a wonderful reminder of Queen and Freddie...

You my friend are bang on. I am a little older than you but we are old school. We do listen to the music but the important things are the lyrics and the emotion the song conveys....real emotion. I wish we could go back in time but it isn't gonna happen. Then along comes Marc, a fellow Canadian. History does indeed repeat itself. And if so I found the fountain of my youth..lol.

Being a huge Queen/Freddie Mercury fan myself, my jaw dropped to the floor as well after hearing Marc Martel perform with Queen Extravaganza. He does have an amazing voice! Also, I just wanted to let you know that you need to do more covers as well. Your voice is quite soothing! 😊
Marc is truly gifted and amazing. But he's not with Queen Extravaganza anymore, to avoid confusion. Their lead singer is now Alirio Netto. Marc tours with Ultimate Queen Celebration these days.

Marc Martel was used to lay down the soundtrack for the movie. Adam Lambert wasn’t used.

Frank I love your reactions. You are a fan like millions are. We know what Marc does is so genius. God-given ability both in voice and physical appearance. So uncanny that he makes me think...Hmmmm Queen was in N.Y. in 1976 and Marc was born in 1976 in Montreal. And from what I read his Mom went to the concert. Begs the $64,000 question...…..
Not only Marc Martel sounds a lot like the great Freddie Mercury, but also he resembles him by features slightly. Adam Lambert who? The Queen chose who? Oh no!
I've posted this on other reaction videos so people can consider talking points about Marc's performance. Chime in as I'm sure other performers have so much more with which to weigh in here.
What people have to remember is that in order to refine and stick this performance, Martel would have had the awesome opportunity to hear multiple instances of Freddie's raw studio tracked performances for this undertaking-- a phenomenal job, to say the least! It's not easy to hear, say 5 or 6 (possibly a boat load more), well-done tracks by a great singer and then put together an amalgam of the parts you're going to emulate in a single track for a very demanding fan audience from concerts, videos, and now film! Well done, Mr. Martel!

People really need to remember what they are questioning or assessing in terms of an original here. How many people have heard every single take of this song that Freddie did prior to performing it? How many times had he sung this in his concerts? How many vocal tracks did he lay down in the studio? Were they all EXACTLY alike???? The clear answer here is-- "No!" Marc has to work with a vocal amalgam of every known performance he could reference in order to create his own vocal composite of multiples from Freddie.
