This has made me very sad, that this route may never be done again by this beautiful airline, it's a very sad day for the airline, I live so close to Gatwick, and loved watching especially their 777s come right over our garden, I love the noise of the engines

I'm confident that BA will be around and return to Gatwick (and hopefully Virgin to keep them honest) though possibly not in the same shape and form. We can only hope.

I love the sound and feeling of going from spooling up the engines to take-off thrust.
Gives me goosebumps... does that count as a kind of fetish I wonder?! Or maybe I just love planes.

@PALLEN8112 It's just you. On certain planes, the engine panels open up during landing to help slow the plane down, called 'reverse thrust'.

Nice to see British continuing the tradition of operating quality equipment to Barbados, from Concorde to this 777. Could the A380 be next?

You are, i didn't know that... and yes i noticed it but idk, because I know that some aircraft engines take some time before they engine shield (or what ever it's called) closes, about 3 - 5 or so seconds... but as i said idk

Not all, Barbados caters to all kinds of aircraft from the Antonov back down.
I could see my house at 5:07.
