Oh my god..Oh my god... as a Recording and Reaper Noob I thought I was completely going insane for not being able to record with my multi effects board and when I managed to get a signal, nothing would come out of my mac and/or my audio interface... Thank you so much, you saved my sanity.

Thanks again, Kenny! I've used this before, but you added more options and depth, as usual. ;)

Very useful Kenny, thank you! I was wondering why I couldn't hear anything through my Mac's headphone out after connecting to my Allen&Heath mixer. I've been learning so much from your Reaper 6 and Recording Your Band series.

This doesn't seem to work for me. I have the same set up with two USB mics but despite the input settings any sound going through the second mic instead comes through the first. No idea what could have caused this as I did have it up and running and haven't changed any settings.

I wanted to use my bluetooth head phones to monitor recording a guitar track. I tried this on my Mac Mini, but it added a huge delay from my guitar to my bluetooth head phones. Any suggestions?

@@renatomartins5901 Not sure if still a thing for you but as far as I know you would need the ASIO4ALL driver

@@renatomartins5901 Ever find an answer to your question? I used ASIO4ALL with two interfaces; SSL2 and Zoom R8 (configured as an audio Interface). For the most part it has worked but on occasion, some tracks get corrupted with static, which were recorded through the R8. Been thinking it's the R8 but not sure and wonder if there needs to be some type of Master-Slave setup between the AIs?

I think you can do it with Asio4All but there's no drifting compensation so after a while you need to reset the devices to avoid latency.

RME audio interfaces can be used up to 3 at once within ASIO Hammerfall driver

    • @mediocrefunkybeat

Not built in to Windows itself. You can chain audio interfaces together if you have ADAT I/O on the interfaces but Windows itself won't operate them together.
Use case. I have an Audient iD14 but I needed more microphone preamps. I was able to use the ADAT input on the iD14 to plug in a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 (from its ADAT output) so that I had 10 channels of input (and more outputs). You also set the master clock to one of the two interfaces and the other to slave so that they are in sync. You can use this scheme with any interfaces with ADAT I/O. I also use the same Focusrite 18i20 with an AVID HD I/O as a front-end for some DI inputs in my studio at work, with the HD I/O set as the master clock.
With a Mac, it's possible to link devices without the ADAT I/O if they're plugged into the USB sockets the computers regardless of the hardware that you're using and the computer will compensate for any clock drift. Windows doesn't have clock correction built in - which is the most important part of this working!
