My drummer and I tried out his electric kit for the first time today. We don't have the means to record an acoustic kit ourselves, but this works a treat. Thanks!
Hi! I have been struggling with mine. I record it thru USB, with VST and some drum plug ins but it won’t sound as good but with earphones they sound great. But on my phone they sound crappy. But in my car they great. So idk lol btw plus 1 sub here!!!
Thanks! A great technique to know and use. However, I think I would try just turning down the guitar tracks a little first and rebalancing the mix. Heresy, I know! No one tells guitar players to turn down. Besides, this method allows you to play with more toys.
Thanks for watching. It’s really a question of balance. If the cymbals and toms are the right volume but the kick and snare are lacking, we can use this to rectify that 👍
Is there a tutorial for getting this set up with a USB cable? I've got a TD15-KV and although I can record the audio through reaper, I can't seem to see each channel individually.
If you check the waveforms you’ll see that the kick and snare channels are just duplicates of the original drums; the same thing as you’ll get through your USB cable. It’s just the EQ and processing that takes place that helps solo out the kick and snare and makes it so you can trigger them. Thanks for watching!
@@SamLoose I created a track and then recorded and it shows waveforms, but all on one track. I'm not sure how to break it down so that you can identify each drum/cymbal :(
If you duplicate the track you’ve recorded then watch through again as I separate kick and snare to replace with samples you’ll get the hang of it. Cymbals will be far harder though 🙂
Thank you so much. I have looking for a way to get my acoustic drum sounds on my recordings since moving into an apartment and I think this will do just fine.
Happy to help, thanks for watching. There will be a video in a few weeks showing how you can get even more in depth with this technique, and include different velocities in your sampling 😀
This video just changed my life.
😀 I’m glad I could help! Thanks for watching.

Hi 👍 How are you connecting? Through USB?
