This is what today's Slavs have to know and feel about theirs origin and roots. As a native Czech, I've been seeing really stupid conspiracists lately who say that we Czechs are Celts or Germans and that we aren't Slavs and similar nonsense. Is important to remember that it was Slavic society and culture that built the foundations of the future nation and state. Without the Slavs, there would be no Czechs, Czech lands, Czech language and Czech identity. Sure, today there are already no pure-blooded Slavs anywhere and influence of other cultures that resided in ours territory totally makes sense. But this is the case with all Slavic nations today (and not only Slavic of course). Some of us are more influenced by Germans, some by Turks, some by Greeks, some by Asians and some by Illyrians, but the root and the origin is and always will be Slavic. Sláva rodu!

@@ctiradperunovic no, I'm not. Czechs are genetically Celts, even you admited that. Yes, you can say that western Poles, Slovaks and Hungarians are Celts, because they're.
Czech are directly related to Serbs, and in my opinion are one of the kingdoms that existed in Europe before Roman times. Kelts and Slavs/Serbs where integrated and sharing cultures and genetics. There are many proofs for that. Biggest rivers in Serbia carry Kelt names "Morava", "Sava", and "Dunav". There was a mistake in the video. Baga the Indo-Iranian word for God is a cognate of the Slavic Bog. The ancient name Baghdad, Bagdata comes from ancient Iranian meaning Given by God (Baga).
I'm Russian and I study traditional Slavic clothes with an emphasis on Russians. Our slavic clothes carry very ancient symbolism. For example, married women wore horns (remember the goat or cow mask worn during christmas during kolyada singing? 😉) to symbolize fertility, women were associated with water fowl, and the colour red symbolized beauty and health (Slavs love wearing red). Also, a LOT of proto indo european symbolism was preserved by the Slavs. Considering all Slavs have this deeply engained culture, we know Slavs are a lot more ancient and complex of a society than people think we are!! Peace to all ❤️

The Slavs are the original Indo-Europeans who formed a community back in the European Neolithic era. They are divided into a northern branch (dominant haplogroup R1a-Z283) and a southern branch (dominant haplogroup I2-L621). one serious note cyril and methodius weren't converting pagans, they were invited as a geopolitical move as the vatican refused to give greater moravia a bishopric, keeping it under the heel of east francia's bishops
Cyril and methodius did not invent Cyrillic script. It was allready present as Etruscan script. A few corrections in regards to slavic mythology, Perun wasn't the supreme God, just the most wildly worshiped one, same goes for Veles. More likely ones were Svarog or Rod (Rod, whos real name is lost and just means family, is an older deity who got replaced by the worship of the individual Gods, while Svarog, being the blacksmith God is sometimes interpreted as in literally smithing the world into being, often from Rods corpse). Slavs being farmers and hunters, their main gods being one that controls the forests and one that controls weather just makes sense, seeing as those would be the ones most people prayed to. Veles himself was never portrayed as an evil God, just the guardian and personification of nature. And since the Slavs viewed the universe as one massive tree and the underworld as endless forests and meadows, it makes sense that he would be the guardian of the underworld aswell. In a lot of places in Eastern Europe the tribes would venerate Veles as their chief diety and protector (usually tribes who lived more of off hunting and herding cattle than farming), this isn't something thats done for an evil or trickster God!
I think if we want to find the core of Old Slavic religion, we have to compare it to the Satem branch people and culture. I think the Supreme God was Triglav, the three faced deity of Hindu religion is Trimurt. What Slavs believed was probably similar to ancient Vedic beliefs where one Supreme God, manifesting as Non-Being, Becoming and Being, and all God's are his manifestations.

At the start of the expansion phases, there were therefore at least three major groups that were genetically distinct and homogeneous : on the one hand, the R1a-M417 carriers of Corded Ware, and on the other, two more closely related groups of R1b-Z2103 from the Yamna culture and R1b-L51, who are still poorly represented by ancient samples but are present in Bohemia to the south of the Corded Ware. The descendants of R1a-M417 are the Balto-Slavic and Indo-Iranian language branches, while R1b-Z2103 would have given rise to at least Armenian and Greek, as well as Tocharian languages and possibly Albanian. Finally, descendants of R1b-L51 would have formed at least the Germanic and Italo-Celtic branches, as well as the Lusitanian language.

When you mention word for god. There are some theories that the word "bog" was adopted by Slavs from Persian language. Original old-Slavic word for god was "div". You can see this word still been used in modern Slavic languages. For example: Noun "div" - meaning giant Adjective "divan" - meaning magnificent, godlike, someone who has a pure heart
Polish "Bóg"="God", "div" do not exist in forms that you selling here and to me it sounds like English(Germanic) divine, the closest by sound is the Polish word "dziw" (w=v in Polish) ->wonder/strange/weird. Bogdan =Bog+dan=gift from God -> it is old(pre christian) Slavic name... Persian language is Indo-European -> so there is conection and basic words like God are often very similar in many Indo-European languages because they are one of first words that you learn how to pronounce as a young kid so are less likely to be modified by adults.
@@Bialy_1 I'm not selling anything here. it's just and interesting theory that I read in one book about Slavic history. I can't remember the name of the book, if I find it I'll post it here. It made sense to me, because in south Slavic languages words with "div". "Div", "Divan", "Diva" are used to describe someone/something worth admiring. Now that you say that western Slavs don't have anything similar, I question it. Also the guy in the video says that BOG doesn't have equivalent in any other Indio-European, but the writer of the book that I was reading draws a parallel to Persian word.
phonetic processes in proto-Slavic are close to Baltic and Iranian, most probably proto-Slavic hybrides appeared independently to each other on Baltic/Thracian/Scythian borderline (rather Scythian spelling of proto-Baltic, loss of suffixes and K to Č), to join later, maybe get standarized, but for sure there was no one place, from which Slavs originated, also the name Slavs was extended from one tribe to all the rest using similar languages, next they were standarized again (Cyril and Methodius) Pripyat area was inhabited rather by proto-Baltic people, who could mix with Scythians, but as we know, proto-Baltic language was a dialect of Thracian or very close, and it is not exactly proto-Slavic, so it is hard to say
The great migration of Slavs didn't happend. There are genetics research which shows that people who lived in 2-5 century in what today is Poland and east Germany had the same genetics as people who lived there in 11 century. All modern historians in this topic says today that "Slavs migration" was a culture and language spread, not a mass migration of people.
It certainly happened for South Slavs, but yes, there is evidence from Tollense River (Eastern Germany) battle that some of the participants had haplogroups typical for Poland.
@@Zulkuss Yes but to Balkans migrated not only east europeans but almost everyone because back then it was part of the wealthy East Rome. That was only "genetic" migration, not necessarily a spread of Slavs. At least on linguistic side scholars don't know how it was possible that slavic language spread so much and kept similar form across so vast number of people and distance without any political entity. I heard the idea that it might evolved as lingua franca.
Group of 3000 men speaking Swahili or Chinese can not impose their language in vast area as it is Illyricum, Pannonia and Thrakia with Makedonia (or just Balkans today) to the population of 2 million people. So, or the language was spoken here before or the numbers of invading groups of settlers were much bigger. Vandals just walked through Italy in 410, general Odoaker came to Italy cc. 470 AD with his army made from different nations (among them were Germanic and Alans, possibly some others), Ostrogoths invaded Italy and killed Odoaker; Byzantines invaded Italy with large armies and fought against Ostrogoths (among them was 1600 cavalry men made of Huns, Slavs and Antes), then in 567 AD Langobards arrived to Italy with population of 100 000 people (among them were also Saxons) and 20 000 of them were warriors. in modern Vojvodina were living Germanic Ghepids and for some time Heruli (later defeated by Langobards). And all these Germanic people coming to Italy didn't impose their language, but with time they accept Roman (vulgar Latin) language of Italy. Same thing happened in France with Germanic Franks and in Spain with Visigoths. To make a switch from one language to other (especially if they are not very closely related) it is necessary to have big numbers.
@@krunomrki That's not true. Take Hungarians for example, they change their language to language of completely differen familly because they were conquered by Magyars warlords at some point. They were more than 3000 men probably but still not enought to made any significant impact of population genetics and Hungarian population genetics is very similar to Czechs, Slovaks and Austrians. And those 4 nations speak 3 different language belonged to 3 different language families. That's because in one case people adapt and switch their language to language used in the region they migrate to does not mean it always a case. As I shown you sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. Sometime languages of overlord and population mixed and creates the abomination we now call english. Also as I mentioned before, we do know that at some point people of nowdays east Germany and Poland changed their language to slavic and in case of east Germany they changed it back to germanic again without any significant migration event. From what I learned, scholars don't know how slavic language spread so much without any significant human migration but we do know that it did spread.

@user-le4sb8is4i before Atilla Slavs did not live in Balkans all the way to modern Greece. They lived in the small area where Atilla later had his headquarters. Then Atilla conquered Balkans for his people and Slavs settled these regions. Who were Atilla's people?
@@Lenny2012S Huns aka Funs came from land near Ice bound Ocean (Ammianus Marcelinus 31) meaning they were Kvens from Scandinavia. Real Cimmerian Bosphorus is Kattegat and land of Kimmerians is Himmerland in Denmark. Utiguri were Jutes. Homer placed Kimmerians at the Northern Ocean. Herodotus placed them on so called Cimmerian Bosphorus, but also he explained that climate in which they live is extremally cold and icy - not matching hot lands about Black Sea at all. Procopius tells us that Huns crossed that so called Cimmerian Bosphorus, but in reality it was Kattegat. Thus Saxo Grammatic's tale abut Frodo III ruler of Denmark fighting Huns was not so far from truth. Attila and Rugila are just as scandinavic names as Wulfila and Swintila (gothic names). So Huns began to live among Slavs near Ister (like Oseriates who are known to Pliny, later Ezeritai, means lake people in slavic, lived near Balaton), and among Slavs who lived near Rhine, where cities Soest and Paderborn are slavic according to al Gardizi, but in scandinavian sagas Soest became capital of Hunaland. These western Huns brought teutonic language to Germany, because up to times of Charlemagne, as Einhard relates, all the people to the Rhine spoke the same language as Obotriti, Serbs, and Bohemians. So yeah Cherusci and Armin (Arminius) and Siegost (Segestes) were slavic-speaking and genetically slavic too, Slavs. According tio Procopius Sclaveni (Danube Slavs), Ants (Danube Balts) and Huns (Danube Scandinavians) together attacked Illyria and Thracia. Because Sclaveni were dominant, slavic languages became dominant. Lands around Danube + Slovenia were already slavic form ancient times. There was also a migration from Medes to the Danube lands which was outcome of scythian (=slavic, these Scythians were from central Europe) three attacks on Asia.

During the early Middle Ages, pre-Christian Bulgaria (680-864/5) was one of the most important powers of Southeastern Europe. Historians have commonly explained its survival and success in terms of a particular ethnic symbiosis between Slavic commoners and Bulgar elites of Turkic origin, who ultimately gave their name to the Slavic-speaking Bulgarians. Bulgar khans, archons, or kings' ruled over territories that are now within Bulgaria and Romania. In Romanian historiography, which has traditionally viewed Romanians as a Romance-language island in a Slavic and Hungarian sea, the Bulgars play no serious role in national history. Archaeological assemblages that can be dated between the late seventh and the late ninth century are consistently attributed to "proto-Romanians." By contrast, the Bulgars are the quintessential part of Bulgarian national identity, a marker of distinction from all other histories of Slavic-speaking nations. As a consequence, studying the Bulgar (or, as it is commonly known in Bulgaria, "proto-Bulgarian") archaeology was an essential component of Bulgarian nationalism, especially in the interwar decades, as well as recently. It is only in the years after the Soviet occupation of 1944 that the emphasis in Bulgarian archaeology was forcefully shifted to the study of the Slavs."

Bog in slavic. Bagvan in Indo-Arian. Indo-european split into a western and an eastern branch. The eastern branch moved to the Aria river in Turkmenistan. When the warm period started around 1500 BC Central Asia became desert. That caused the Indo-Arians to migrate to India and the Traco -Illyrians to migrate migrate towards Balkans and Southern Russia. The Baltic-Slavic population moved northward to the taiga areas around Tobol. When the cold period started around 1000 BC the Baltic people moved westward to Northern Russia and the eastern side of the Baltic sea. In the same time the Iranian people started moving into the Iranian plateau. When the next cold period started around 300 AD the Slaves started their migration towards Europe.
What do you mean the Slavic word for god has no Indo-European equivalents? The Iranian word for deity is Baga. Baga-data -God's gift, the capital of Iraq founded by the Persians. This is one of many proofs that shows the Slavonic ppl were influenced by iranic steppe nomads since antiquity if not earlier, proof that the steppe was indeed partly responsible for the ethnogenesis of Slavs, you would know if you have researched Chernyakhov culture (Sarmatians were part of it) from whom Slavs emerged alongside the Kiev culture which was neighbouring Chernyakhov from the North on Pripyat. Russian linguist Turbachev distinguished the so-called Polono-Iranica, i.e. Iranic loanwords attested only in Western Slavic languages Polish, Czech and Slovak, but not in Lusatian. In addition to general Slavic loanwords from Iranic such as "Bóg", "Święty or "Topór". Only among the Western Slavs do we find the word PAN. Old Czech Khpan (what leads, moves out) and Igran's gałpan - shepherd, guardian of the herd. We also have verbs - "baczyć" (i.e. observe, look out for, guard, keep an eye on), "patrzyć" (look for, track down, follow), "satrzyć" (understand, comprehend) "satrzyć się" (be considered, be careful). All these words fit into the hypothetical scope of so-called field work, i.e. attacking and robbing or guarding others against field work, and may originate from the Palan sociolect of the heroes. There is also big linguistic similarities of BaltoSlavic to the Iranic and Indic languages because they both stem from Eastern Corded Ware group the Satem. and Slavic languages are in same super-group "satem" with Iranian & Indian languages (from word "sto" - 100). Satem linguistic group was brought to Asia by Aryans who came from Russian steppe (Sintashta, Srubnaya, Andronovo cultures the protoindoiranians or the so called Aryans). That is how European languages came to such alien far away people in Asia.

Also, Veda in Slavic means 'knowledge', same in Sanskrit, Budan means 'to be awaken', same in Sanskrit (Buda) and Jebati means 'to fuck', the same in Sanskrit etc. In general, Balto-Slavic languages are the closest to Sanskrit. The Slavs and people of northern India also have haplogroup R1a.
By viewing the comments below, it is easy to see that this "history" is the most complicated and uncertain of any I know of. And thereby there is justification for numerous autonomous states throughout Eastern Europe. Conversely, there is no reason for "Empire" with so many different societies.
@@Krispy1011 Yes, like let's say... reading scientific works. For example, modern scholars have long since abandoned the idea that Slavs were related to Lusatian culture.
Regarding those who, for whatever reason, are still entertaining the long-refuted premise that I2a1b-Din isn't Slavic in origin, 12a branch among Serbs, South Slavs, and Slavs, in general, is of the Din-CTS 10228, Y3120 (and all its downstream) variety, and wasn't present in Southeastern Europe before the invasion of the Slavs. Furthermore, Slavs have dispersed this Y- DNA to non-Slavic peoples, and the oldest historical samples of 12a1b-Din are found overwhelmingly in West and East Slavic lands, like KRA008 from Saxony, Niem6, and Niem13 in Poland (Stolarek et al. 2018; Zenczak et al. 2017), VK542 (Gleb Sviatoslavich) in Ukraine, and VK53 in Sweden (Margaryan et al. 2019), Sunghir6 in Russia (Sikora et al. 2017), KEII/16, KEII/52, KEIII/11, K2/16, K2/52, KR/12, and MH/9, MH/15, and MH/16 in Hungary, former Great Moravia(Neperáczki et al. 2019; Fóthi et al. 2019), and the Kuline twins (Olalde et al. 2021). However, we also have Early Slavic samples like POH36, POH41 and POH44, Byz3 (Lazaridis et al. 2022) and Medieval South Slavic samples like UHR3, Knyaz Batinic-Mirkovic, and Knyaz Mirko Radojevic, (Džehverović, Kalajdžić, et al. 2021.), and the sample of King Stjepan Tomas from Bosnia and Herzegovina." Although it is dominant among the modern Slavic peoples on the territory of the former Balkan provinces of the Roman Empire, until now it was not found among the samples from the Roman period and is almost absent in the contemporary population of Italy.[16] It was found in the skeletal remains with artifacts, indicating leaders, of Hungarian conquerors of the Carpathian Basin from the 9th century, part of the Western Eurasian-Slavic component of the Hungarians.[16][29][34] The modeled ancestral genetic component of Balto-Slavs among South Slavs was between 55 and 70%.[54] 12a1a2b-L621 is typical of the Slavic populations, being highest in the Southeastern European regions of Bosnia-Herzegovina and South Croatia (>45%),[3][13][14] in Croats (37.7-69.8%), Bosniaks (43.53-52.17%), and Serbs (36.6-42%) often called "Dinaric".[15] It has the highest variance and concentration in Eastern Europe (i.e., Ukraine, Southeastern Poland, Belarus). [16] According to YFull YTree it formed 11,400 YBP and had TMRCA 6,500 YBP, while its main subclades lineage is I-CTS10936 (6,500 5,600 YBP) > I-S19848 (5,600 YBP) > 1-CTS4002 (5,600-5,100 YBP) > I-CTS10228 (5,100- 3,400 YBP) > 1-Y3120 (3,400-2,100 YBP) > I-Y18331 (2,100 YBP)/I-Z17855 (2,100-1650 YBP)/1-Y4460 (2,100 YBP) / 1-S17250 (2,100-1,850 YBP) > 1-PH908 (1,850-1,700 YBP). Initially, a Holocene expansion of 12a in Southeastern Europe is supposed,[15] however Dinaric is descended by several 'only child' subclades and it is suggested that its most recent common ancestor is aged only 2200 years[16] making it the youngest and most common micro-group. Many authors claim that the higher ratio of 12a1b over R1a that is observed in the Balkans today was present before the Slavic expansion, owed to indigenous tribes,[8][9][17][18] [19] while the most recent common ancestor of I-Y3120, to which all Bulgarian lines of I-P37 belong, is 2200 years old and refutes this suggestion.[20] Although older research considered the high frequency of this subclade in the South Slavic-speaking populations to be the result of "pre-Slavic paleolithic settlement in the region, the research by O.M. Utevska (2017) confirmed that the haplogroup STR haplotypes have the highest diversity in Ukraine, with ancestral STR marker result "DYS448=20" comprising "Dnieper-Carpathian" cluster, while younger derived result "DYS448=19" comprising the "Balkan cluster" which is predominant among the South Slavs.[21] This "Balkan cluster" also has the highest variance in Ukraine, which indicates that the very high frequency in the Western Balkan is because of a founder effect.[21] It is considered that I-L621 could have been present in the Cucuteni-Trypillia culture, [29] but until now, merely the Y-DNA G2a and non-12-L621 clades were found. [30] [31] It was found in the skeletal remains with artifacts, indicating leaders, of Hungarian conquerors of the Carpathian Basin from the 9th century, part of the Western Eurasian-Slavic component of the Hungarians.[16][29][34] According to Pamjav et al. (2019) and Fóthi et al. (2020), the distribution of ancestral subclades like I-CTS10228 among contemporary carriers indicates a rapid expansion from Southeastern Poland, is mainly related to the Slavs and their medieval migration, and the "largest demographic explosion occurred in the Balkans".[16][35] The earliest archeogenetic sample until now is Sungir 6 (~900 YBP) near Vladimir, Russia which belonged to the I-S17250 > I-Y5596 > I-Z16971 > I-Y5595 > I-A16681 subclade,[36] [37] as well I-CTS10228 and I-Y3120 subclades were found in two Viking samples from Sweden (VK53) and Ukraine (VK542) with predominantly Slavic ancestry of which the second belongs to Gleb Svyatoslavich (11th century).[38] According to a 2023 archaeogenetic study, 12a-L621 is absent in antiquity and appears only since the Early Middle Ages "always associated with Eastern European related ancestry in the autosomal genome, which supports that these lineages were introduced in the Balkans by Eastern European migrants during the Early Medieval period."[33]" The 2006 Y-DNA study results "suggest that the Slavic expansion started from the territory of present-day Ukraine, thus supporting the hypothesis that places the earliest known homeland of Slavs in the basin of the middle Dnieper".[56] According to genetic studies until 2020, the distribution, variance, and frequency of the Y-DNA haplogroups R1a and 12 and their subclades R-M558, R-M458, and I-CTS10228 among South Slavs are correlated with the spreading of Slavic languages during the medieval Slavic expansion from Eastern Europe, most probably from the territory of present-day Ukraine and Southeastern Poland.[57] [58] [59] [60] [61] [62] [63]. One more thing, the Slavs who conquered and colonized Southeastern Europe were predominately the Sclavenes and the Antes, and they arrived through the Lower Danube (further supporting the abovementioned), the sole exception to this rule is the White Serbs and the White Croats who arrived somewhere northwestern and northeastern of modern-day Slovakia and Hungary. In terms of autosomes, the modeled ancestral genetic component of Balto-Slavs among South Slavs was between 55 and 70%.[56]. In terms of IBD-sharing and distance: South Slavs in their turn share a similar number of IBD segments with East-West Slavs and with the "Inter- Slavic Romanian, Hungarian and Gagauz populations. Notably, South Slavs share significantly fewer IBD segments for length classes 1.5-3 cM with their immediate geographic neighbors in the south - the Albanians and the Greeks, than with the group of East-West Slavs. Altogether, the analysis of IBD segment distributions revealed even patterns of IBD sharing among East- West Slavs-Inter-Slavic' populations (Hungarians, Romanians, and Gagauz)-and South Slavs, i.e. across an area of assumed historic movements of people including Slavs. The 2014 IBD analysis comparison of the Western Balkan and Middle Eastern populations also found negligible gene flow between the 16th and 19th centuries during the Islamization of the Balkans.[53]

I2-PH908 descended from I2-Y3120 which is found in west Ukraine and east Poland with TRMC 2200 years, but not found in the Balkans till 6th century AD. That means that I2 was brought to Balkans with Slavic migration. I do not want to say those people with I2 were 100% Slavs. Some scholars consider that Slavs assimilated and involved a huge number of non-Slavic peoples in Carpathian basin during Slavic migration. So Slavs could assimilate some unknown ethnic group 2200 years ago (maybe some Thracian or Illyrian tribes) and then those groups moved to south in 6th century with Slavs.

Who is interested in the origin of Slavs, check out the IBD method developed by geneticists. The Identity By Decent method shows clusters of relatives among individuals from archeological sites whose paleoDNA was successfully extracted. Unfortunately, cremation burial practice widely spread in Eastern Europe doesn't help geneticists. But, some results are obtained and published. So far, based on the paleoDNA database available, the common "oldest" back in time ancestors of all Slavic people are located on Baltic shores and very close in genetics to people from Imenkovskaya archeological culture. But it's pretty late, IV-VII century. Research continues.

Macedonian troll. Stop stealing Bulgarian history. You use the Bulgarian language, don't forget. Macedonia is a geographical region of Bulgaria. Ohrid was the capital of the First Bulgarian empire.
I don't believe in these versions, especially when it comes to south Slavic nations. All large demographic migrations were from south to north, so why this will be exception? It is more logical that, like many nations, they have roots in Balkan peninsula and later spread from there to north and east.
Slavic is a language and cultural term, not genetic one. Slavic mean the speaking people, the people who use a common language, who share a speech. Тhe language they use is called Bulgarian. Romanians and some other modern made countries separated with an artificially created language several decades ago, before that they spoke Bulgarian.
The statement that the Slavic word for god, bog, has no equivalent in other Indo European languages is incorrect. "The concept of a Macedonian ethnicity, distinct from their Orthodox Balkan neighbours, is seen to be a comparatively newly emergent one. The earliest manifestations of an incipient Macedonian identity emerged during the second half of the 19th century among limited circles of Slavic-speaking intellectuals, predominantly outside the region of Macedonia. They arose after the First World War and especially during the 1930s, and thus were consolidated by Communist Yugoslavia's governmental policy after the Second World War. The formation of the ethnic Macedonians as a separate community has been shaped by population displacement as well as by language shift"

This is history created in Rome. Its a western story invented to portray them selves as indigenous and Slavs as if they came to Europe in 7 th century. There are not proof for this story and are many proofs against it. I researched much of history on the matter i found that many educated historians have compliantly different picture. Serbian writer Ranka Kujic is describing tombstones from 2 century with word Serb/Slav on territory of Serbia Tombstones had Hebrew, Greek and Serb words on it. Mavro Orbini in "Il regno de gli slavi" from 1601.iz describing "slavic" kingdoms during Rome in Illiria, Dacia, Germany etc. Many Roman Noble families had Serb origins. History is very much tampered and rewriten when it comes to Slavs and Serbs. Kelts where also very much erased from history. We have much archeological proof that Kelts and Serbs lived in peace integrated and sharing culture. Many rivers in Serbia carry Kelt names as "Dunav" and "Sava" and "Morava" and Kelt ambles can be found on royal Serb graves. Today Czechia was called Moravia few hundreds years ago. Much of Slav history has been erased. Like for example Austria bombed Serbian national library in ww1, and Germany bombed it in WW2. Countless medieval manuscripts where destroyed, of purpose. Why? To hide the fact there was no migration of Slavs/Serbs to Europe and that we have been here for unknown thousands of years.
The word for God - Bog or Boh is indoeuropean. Bhavat, Bhuva in Sanscrit. Most of Slavic words for foods, family, home, fire, water, wind, stars and planets have Indo-european roots.

Sláva rodu!

@@GÓRAL-o2j So you are one of these conspirators. We have nothing in common with the Celts. No Celtic language, culture or mentality (maybe a little bit genetic, but that's the way all Central Europeans are mixed). You could say that Poles, Slovaks or Croats are Celts too. Absolute nonsense. Irish, Welsh and Scotts are Celts, definitely not Central-Eastern Europeans.

The Slavs are the original Indo-Europeans who formed a community back in the European Neolithic era. They are divided into a northern branch (dominant haplogroup R1a-Z283) and a southern branch (dominant haplogroup I2-L621). So there was no immigration because the Slavic community has been in the territories it still inhabits since the Neolithic.
Correct, the rest is colonial propaganda as other than Russia, Slavic countries were mostly dominated by another external force in relatively recent times (Rome, Turkey, Germany for the most part).

At least migrations of Southern Slavs into Roman territories is pretty well documented by contemporary sources so no, Slavs didn't always live where they live now.
one serious note cyril and methodius weren't converting pagans, they were invited as a geopolitical move as the vatican refused to give greater moravia a bishopric, keeping it under the heel of east francia's bishops
Cyril and methodius did not invent Cyrillic script. It was allready present as Etruscan script. Vatican invented the story of cyril and methodius to erase existence of pre Roman civilizations and culture. Myth is Cyril and Methodius managed to spread Cyrillic script to entire Slavic which was impossible task for 2 priests on a cart wagon. Its fantasy. Great Moravia did get its own bishopric, recognized by Rome under Methodius.

@gideonros2705 very possible, Svarog shares the multi head trait aswell, with 4 heads facing the cardinal directions watching over the world

When you mention word for god. There are some theories that the word "bog" was adopted by Slavs from Persian language. Original old-Slavic word for god was "div". You can see this word still been used in modern Slavic languages. For example:
Noun "div" - meaning giant
Adjective "divan" - meaning magnificent, godlike, someone who has a pure heart
Yes this is true
The word "Div" also exists in Persian, but it means Satan, not God.
My theory is:
The word Bog has the Sanskrit equivalent Bhaga, or Bhagwan, meaning universal God.
phonetic processes in proto-Slavic are close to Baltic and Iranian, most probably proto-Slavic hybrides appeared independently to each other on Baltic/Thracian/Scythian borderline (rather Scythian spelling of proto-Baltic, loss of suffixes and K to Č), to join later, maybe get standarized, but for sure there was no one place, from which Slavs originated, also the name Slavs was extended from one tribe to all the rest using similar languages, next they were standarized again (Cyril and Methodius)
Pripyat area was inhabited rather by proto-Baltic people, who could mix with Scythians, but as we know, proto-Baltic language was a dialect of Thracian or very close, and it is not exactly proto-Slavic, so it is hard to say
Dzenkuje Ci! Hvala! Spasibo!

Slavs did not run from Huns. They settled in the very same area, which was conquered by Huns.
This is strange. It is almost like Huns were Slavic people and they conquered land for Slavs.
In fact, the description of Atilla headquarters looks like Slavic settlement and the only 2 words from Hunnic language we know are Slavic words for Honney and Feast
Slavs lived before Hunns in their regions, Priskus says about local pannonian Scythians, not about Hunns, when he speaks about Medos and Kamos.
@user-le4sb8is4i Priskus yells about the "capital" of Atilla with his palace, houses of his nobles and palace of his multiple wives.
All these houses are not nomadic. They are typical Slavic houses and Slavic habits, like special lumber bath house we can still see in Russia and Ukraine.
So, Atilla the Un (there were no H in the name) lived as Slavic duke and his headquarters were populated by Slavs.
There is nothing from contemporary evidences, which would make him a Turkish, Persian or Mongolian nomad.
If he walked like a duck and quacked like a duck, what gives us the idea that he is a peacock from Mongolian steps?

The Slavic expansion is a riddle indeed, as the latest spread of an Indo-European family branch, similarly to the expansion of the Turcic people and at about the same time. There may have been some climatic reason to their expansion, as these were cultivators living in peripheral regions to where agriculture is still worthwile. Swings in the climate will displace people living on the edge.

2021.), and the sample of King Stjepan Tomas from Bosnia and Herzegovina."
Although it is dominant among the modern Slavic peoples on the territory of the former Balkan provinces of the Roman Empire, until now it was not found among the samples from the Roman period and is almost absent in the contemporary population of Italy.[16] It was found in the skeletal remains with artifacts, indicating leaders, of Hungarian conquerors of the Carpathian Basin from the 9th century, part of the Western Eurasian-Slavic component of the Hungarians.[16][29][34] The modeled ancestral genetic component of Balto-Slavs among South Slavs was between 55 and 70%.[54]
12a1a2b-L621 is typical of the Slavic populations, being highest in the Southeastern European regions of Bosnia-Herzegovina and South Croatia (>45%),[3][13][14] in Croats (37.7-69.8%), Bosniaks (43.53-52.17%), and Serbs (36.6-42%) often called "Dinaric".[15] It has the highest variance and concentration in Eastern Europe (i.e., Ukraine, Southeastern Poland, Belarus).
Utevska (2017) confirmed that the haplogroup STR haplotypes have the highest diversity in Ukraine, with ancestral STR marker result "DYS448=20" comprising "Dnieper-Carpathian" cluster, while younger derived result "DYS448=19" comprising the "Balkan cluster" which is predominant among the South Slavs.[21] This "Balkan cluster" also has the highest variance in Ukraine, which indicates that the very high frequency in the Western Balkan is because of a founder effect.[21]
It is considered that I-L621 could have been present in the Cucuteni-Trypillia culture, [29] but until now, merely the Y-DNA G2a and non-12-L621 clades were found. (2020), the distribution of ancestral subclades like I-CTS10228 among contemporary carriers indicates a rapid expansion from Southeastern Poland, is mainly related to the Slavs and their medieval migration, and the "largest demographic explosion occurred in the Balkans".[16][35] The earliest archeogenetic sample until now is Sungir 6 (~900 YBP) near Vladimir, Russia which belonged to the I-S17250 > I-Y5596 > I-Z16971 > I-Y5595 > I-A16681 subclade,[36] [37] as well I-CTS10228 and I-Y3120 subclades were found in two Viking samples from Sweden (VK53) and Ukraine (VK542) with predominantly Slavic ancestry of which the second belongs to Gleb Svyatoslavich (11th century).[38] According to a 2023 archaeogenetic study, 12a-L621 is absent in antiquity and appears only since the Early Middle Ages "always associated with Eastern European related ancestry in the autosomal genome, which supports that these lineages were introduced in the Balkans by Eastern European migrants during the Early Medieval period."[33]"
The 2006 Y-DNA study results "suggest that the Slavic expansion started from the territory of present-day Ukraine, thus supporting the hypothesis that places the earliest known homeland of Slavs in the basin of the middle Dnieper".[56] According to genetic studies until 2020, the distribution, variance, and frequency of the Y-DNA haplogroups R1a and 12 and their subclades R-M558, R-M458, and I-CTS10228 among South Slavs are correlated with the spreading of Slavic languages during the medieval Slavic expansion from Eastern Europe, most probably from the territory of present-day Ukraine and Southeastern Poland.[57] [58] [59] [60] [61] [62] [63].

One small thing it's not Balkans but South Eastern Europe because there are distinctive mountain ranges with close but distinctive populations and cultures on them like Dinaric mountain range, Pindic mountain range, Rodopi mountain range, and Stara planina or Balkan mountain. @jovisha2233 Haplogroups are just traces of the past, they have no function.
The origin of the Macedonian Mesolithic Proto-European I haplogroup Y-chromosome DNA is the Macedonian people the I haplogroup is born in Macedonia in the Vardar valley.
The genetic descendants of the Macedonians are the Swedes, danes, Sardinians, Romanians and the Serbo-croatian speaking nations.
This is not a Slavic DNA. The Slavic DNA is the R1a haplogroup and is Asian not native to Europe.
All Slavic languages are based only upon the Macedonian language:
''Church Slavonic language, Slavic language based primarily on the Macedonian (South Slavic) dialects around Thessalonica (Thessaloníki). It was used in the 9th century by the missionaries Saints Cyril and Methodius, who were natives of Thessalonica, for preaching to the Moravian Slavs and for translating the Bible'' - Britannica.

I don't believe in these versions, especially when it comes to south Slavic nations. All large demographic migrations were from south to north, so why this will be exception? It is more logical that, like many nations, they have roots in Balkan peninsula and later spread from there to north and east.
BLAGOSLOVENO .
