Two years later this motor is going strong ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBZWgzfpS2Jj7JqIHyaSZjyVHNUgCKCBf Just uploaded a video of it after 2 years. We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite
You got me almost sold, BUDD. However, what is the water retention on these boats. Is it going to be as much as my wife during her monthly visitor or the same water of the Edmund Fitzgerald? 😁😁
I actually work at Bass Pro Shops and get the Pond Prowler for 45% off!!! My girlfriend and I have been looking for a boat even debating on doing 2 kayaks, but the pond prowler looks like a perfect boat for us. Thank you for finalizing my decision on getting it!
@@CollinBeBassin I did, I had to unscrew it and switch the motor around. I’m working on a full boat overview soon where I may talk about that a little bit. Super easy to do tho!
Thanks. I’ll try that. They use a funny plastic or coat it with something weird. Keep up the good work. My Pond Prowler is new to me. I learn a lot watching you.
Yah, the trolling motor is charged by the battery in the back, which is charged after each session and usually never dies out. What do u mean by range?
@@humbugvideos thanks. I live on a 40 acre lake but also live 30 minutes from the bay. Would you think this would handle light Chop around docks in salt water?
I wonder what registration etc needs to be done to LEGALLY take one with a trolling motor all taken in the bed of my truck to a state lake in Pennsylvania? Do I need boat registration? Life jacket etc.I would like to be law abiding as possible. Thanks cool video
I live in New York and needed to get my Prowler 10 registered at DMV. I had Bass Pro fill out the certificate of origin and I took the receipt and pic of Hull number
@@Bj-vi3tq if I’m trolling all day with it (1-3mph) it starts dying out around 6-7 hours. If your just using it to steer yourself forward slowly while bass fishing I’ve done 2 day trips and been fine. It’s the constant run that really drains it down
Thanks! 1920x1080 with the wide lens for GoPro, 4k with the Sony. I export my videos in 1080 so the 4k is just condensed. I also boost the colors a bit on premier during post production, as I have noticed the hero 10 can have some really gloomy bland shots. Hope this helps!
@@humbugvideos I do have a truck so yeah good point I can just slap it in the bed , since my kayak is 9.5 ft so half a foot more would do just fine . Thanks for the reply
For a guy who don’t go fishin carp you talk about them every episode. Lol. Great vid and awesome setup. Look at Yolotex. They have great camera mounts for boats.
I love em! Just not sure my arms can handle them yet due to a tendon injury that messed me up big time. I just got back to a medium action rod two weeks ago. Yolotex are super cool, I’ll have to do some pricing and figure out what would work for me. Thanks for the support Carpman!

12:40 wow had no idea. Watched a lot of bass videos and still learned something today!
Wow, nice bass!😎👍
Getting ready to buy one of these tomorrow. Just subscribed to your channel so I can follow all your videos. Thank you very much.
Your gonna love the next few videos I’m dropping👍🏽

Like your vids, I subscribed. Good mix of equipment, technique, conversation, etc.
Thank you, appreciate it! Try to keep it pretty diverse
Favorite plastic jon boat? is it the pond prowler vs the other brands??
I’ve heard great stuff about the Bass Raider too, but it costs more. Both work great imo
That boat is a dream machine man🔥
I’m only just getting started🥵
What mounts are you using for the kayak paddles?
Links below to all the products!
How long is the trolling motor shaft??
I’m not sure on this one, but I believe the Enduras only have 1 size so I’d check online. This one is a 36lb thrust
Thanks for the video man, keep making content!! You deserve the views
Thank you! Appreciate it
How do you load it on the top of the car ? Is it safe
Do you think a foot controlled trolling motor could be mounted?
I think so, but space is limited! Would work better on the 10 foot imo

When I worked there I wish I had bought it as well! Would’ve saved me a ton of money lol. Luckily I got the credit card so I used some points
@@humbugvideos The points are amazing! Did you have to do any modifications to put the trolling motor on the front?

I’m humbled to have made a small cameo appearance! Great to have met you at there! Tight lines!
Haha I knew you’d like that. Stoked to meet u!
How did you get your registration numbers to stick? Mine don’t seem to want to stick.
@@jjp95136 clear tape over the top👍🏽

How did you register it? Did you need MSO?
Every state is different, mine was through Idaho Parks and Rec
I really don't understand how trolling motors work, what is the range and do you have to charge them?
Yah, the trolling motor is charged by the battery in the back, which is charged after each session and usually never dies out. What do u mean by range?
you put it on top your car? what kinda care you have and name of straps. then you attach all your trolly battery.
I put a blanket down so no dirt scratched my car, lift it on top, then strap it down with 4 ratchet straps and 2 cam straps
Where did you get your floor mat?
Amazon or Walmart both have em
What are you using to mount your transducer?
Just added all the mounts and pieces in the description. Thanks for reminding me👍🏽
@@humbugvideos thanks. I live on a 40 acre lake but also live 30 minutes from the bay. Would you think this would handle light Chop around docks in salt water?

Call your local DMV and they’ll give u all the information u need. In my state, I had to register through Parks and Rec

What kind of battery are you using for your trolling motor.
Walmart brand's 24 Group size. Been amazing so far with no issues!
@@humbugvideos how long will that 24 series last pushing that 8 footer?

What laws or regulations do you have to follow for this boat? Like do you have to register it or anything like that?I’m looking to buy one soon.
Yes, I registered it with Idaho parks and rec. Super easy. Other than that I believe you just need a life jacket, then your all set to go.
I'm actually in the process of purchasing, and building out a tiny bass boat..
Awesome video! Subscribed. Would you mind sharing what film setting you use for your GoPro? Your footage and editing are excellent.

How hard do you think it would be to paddle this around a small pond?
It’s not too bad as long as there’s not a bunch of gear. Trolling motor works WONDERS
I'm debating on the 8ft vs the 10 ft idk yet
If u have the vehicle/space for the 10, do it. I would’ve got the 10 too

Haha. You used my boat idea. Nicely done. Still waiting on my raider. Why are you gaving wind issues over 5 mph?
A little wind isn't too much of an issue, but its still a hassle with hand steered trolling motor
That's insane how cheap it is relative to say a top end kayak.
Is this good enough for an adult and a kindergarten age child?
