Human Rights Watch has documented ethnic cleansing in the West Darfur region of Sudan by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and allied militias against the Masalit people and other non-Arab communities. “These allied militia and the RSF then, from April until June, conducted a rampage of killings, of lootings, of torture, of rape,” says Belkis Wille, associate director with the Crisis, Conflict, and Arms Division at Human Rights Watch. She says international actors must cut off the flow of arms to all warring parties, but adds there is little “political will” to enforce an arms embargo in Sudan.

It's a power struggle between the most powerful 2 Sudanese military generals: Al-Burhan (leading the SAF) & Hemetti (leading the RSF i.e the troops of the SAF) ... They collaborated with each other in the war in Darfur, the war in Yemen and then in the crackdown on protests in Sudan. After dealing with their common enemies, however, each one of them wanted the throne for himself, which eventually made them turn on one another.

The indigenous Sudanese, who are Nubians, example the Masalit and Fir ethnic groups, had been pushed west into Darfur over the last thousand years and are now being wiped out there too or pushed into Chad, South Sudan, etc.
The Arab-Muslim militias conducting this genocide against non-Arab indigenous groups should be receiving way more attention.

The interviewer brings up Iran as a funder of RSF and Belkis Wille nods her head, despite having absolutely no eveidence of this. When Has the United States ever done anything positive for Africa? The US assinates demcratically elected leaders, props up dictators, sell weapons to fuel wars, (they often sell weapons to both sides of a conflict). Look up the 2 articles "US sanctions ex-Israeli general [ Israel Ziv ] for $150 million in arms sales to South Sudan" and "US lifts sanctions on ex-IDF general accused of arms sales to South Sudan" which appear on "The Times of Israel" website. Isreal sells weapons to both sides of conflict in South Sudan, but denies it and claims it was helping the country with its agriculture. I could not find any articles about how Isreal has actually helped South Sudan with agriculture. Its a shame Westerners turn a blind eye to the role thier governments play in destroying countries, not only in Africa, but also the Middle East, South America, Asia, plus Haiti

As a Canadian, I am shocked by the scale of what is happening. This is way bigger than the war in Ukraine or Gaza yet it is never ever covered here. It doesn't even sound like we are at fault this time. Why would my news media keep this hidden from me?

I used to teach at a school here in the Netherlands. Once, during a class, I brushed the subject of the same sort of killings in Sudan, and one of my pupils, a muslim girl from Sudan flew into a rage. I think she even reported me to the principal

I remember watching videos last year of Dafur civilians fleeing to chad many were shot/killed trying to run into chad. Some of the lucky ones survived and only got shot in thejr butt leg or back. Sad!! They assumed 150,0000 Darfur were murdered last year i couldn't Imahine whay that number is now.
That is a wake up call. It’s hardly ever in the news.
Some commentators have forgotten that Darfur was once the largest protest movement in the U.S. and Europe under the Save Darfur movement in the early 2000s when many college students, speakers, analysts and media reporters came out in their thousands to call for an "end to the war and genocide in Darfur" beginning in 2003. RSF in Darfur have become a death squad. The current conflict in Sudan shares some surprising similiarities with Myanmar's civil war that gets overlook too.
If you want to know who is arming them all you have to do is look at what resources the region has and whos companies are invested in them.
Dont be surprised when you find American corporations w ties to the area... Im sure theres others as well and they will be the ones that pal around w America.

This war shouldn't have lasted as long as it has. Many of the Arabic news channels have actually been providing coverage on the Sudanese conflict since it started last year April. It's just a challenge that the Arabic news isn't subtitled or translated into English as much. Also keep in mind, Sudan is a geopolitical strategically located country on the Red Sea, near the Bab al Mandab and bordering Egypt and Ethiopia. Sudan has relations with several Middle Eastern countries Yemen, Saudi, UAE and Iran and African countries Egypt, Libya, Ethiopia, etc going back decades.
Hope the world pays attention because what’s happening in Gaza is far less than what Sudanese are experiencing.
