I kinda doubt it will. I bought a 22 taco because my old Ford Ranger rusted out. Yes the base sr5 is reasonable, but you need 4wd wear it snows. And if you have 4wd, you want the more powerful engine. A couple other options like floor and bed mats and poof. $40k truck.. New cars are honestly getting priced out of the American dream anymore it seems.

true story... back in the Air Force in the late 80's I had a mate from Hawaii. NOZAWA! James! He told me it was vw bugs and toyota pickups in Hawaii. I drove an 88 all the way up to about 10 years ago. Dang thing would climb a tree if you could point it that way. (moment of silence). Drive a 2013 limited now on 33's. slight lift. And she is sweet. I have been waiting patiently though because the Pros were just not getting me there.. I just had a feeling if I waited a bit.. (Lets face it, there is no rush). That they would go and bring the mother load. NOT disappointed from what i see. And looks like it was worth the wait. Meanwhile.... Chevy, Ford are scrambling to fight their way back into the market. I had a friend jump on that band wagon and bought a 100,000 dollar Ford Raptor... I took one look and said, broski, its a Ford. Put it in any wrapper you want. He was like its awesome! I said, lets see how that statement ages... wasnt three = 4 months after owning it. I asked him hey hows the Raptor? He replies, I hate it! The dame mechanic at Ford has literally had the truck more than I have! Last issue some god awful noise was coming from inside the dash.. he called, the tech was like ugh... i know what it is and we have to tear the whole dash apart to fix it... he said, nope... im done. take the truck back. We cant do that! Yes you can or you can talk to my lawyer... tru story... now we have the Bronco. Again, it looks ok. But poop is poop in any type of package.
Dont tell me you cant make a reliable rig either. We all know about planned obsoletion. We live in a country that made the farmall tractor for crying out loud. Do BETTER.

I like tacos, but what this really has me excited for is the 4runner. I want them to copy and paste everything about the taco into the 4runner...maybe minus those god awful vertical tail lights.
I would pay infinite money for a 4runner that has a nice interior (vented seats, digital guages, usb-C ports, a good infotainment center with good surround cameras) and gets at least 20-22 city.
I bought an F150 powerboost hybrid and it was ungodly expensive....but I'd drop that in a heartbeat and then some for a 4runner. They're my favorite looking vehicles ever, but they are absolute dinosaurs. Wouldn't take a free one in its current iteration.

I watched a video by TFL where they interviewed the chief engineer and he said it was the top priority for them to keep the bumper to bumper length identical to the current model. That's why you're not going to see increase room in the backseat. Their reasoning for that is from polling customers they were adamant that the Tacoma had to fit in the garage. So they had to maintain that length that was a top priority for Toyota. You could go tundra crewmax get that space you need. I had a 2007 and I loved it. I have a 2018 Tacoma TRD off-road now and I love it the mid-size is a better fit for me and my family than a full size. Have a good one 👍

Increased government requirements, increased government regulations, and inflation have caused many things to become unreasonably expensive.
The added features and quality of these trucks will also cause the prices to increase. I love a lot of the new features, but they will all increase the price.

Great cars, but how do we get a toyota to stop lying about price? You see the MSRPs online but when you want into a dealer it's suddenly $10k over msrp.

I wish, that, Toyota made another more extended version of this cab, which will have regular short-bed - however - with more leg room for travel, on this frame. It will be, I think, an absolute another hit as people will like its utility roominess and balanced-weight on back wheel. Tundra in many cases is too wide creature for Overlanding. Also add a variety of bed shapes as integrated factory raised frame on short bed, camping-collapsable-stackable bed and many other repair-man beds with side-tool shelves for easy access. Also there are many ideas on bed utility out there as extra-utility camping origami-stackable and plain delivery boxes for personel reshapping. It could be very popular in third world countries for many missions.

Glade they fix solved some of the problems from the gen 3
Also now made a good reason to buy different trims
I just bought a bare bone tacoma and bought aftermarket parts to fit my needs
But let see if the aftermarket community can compete with gen 4 factory parts 😅

Can you add the 6-speed manual to the XtraCab variant and offer a XtraCab TRD Off-Road model? I don't need the Double cab and would love the option of the stabilizer disconnect mechanism (DSM) on a TRD Off-Road Xtracab offered with the 6-speed manual. I'll take what I can get but bring back the TRD Off-Road Xtracab.
