I'm a semi-retired massage therapist but wanted to say - don't be afraid to communicate with your therapist if you ever experience discomfort- we appreciate our clients doing so!
For the TLDR version, lol - keep reading 😁
It's understandable the reasons why many choose not to communicate, but the benefits for both parties will have a positive ripple effect if/when the communication is given.
When the choice is made not to speak up & the client ends up feeling sore or sick afterwards, they may not ever want to get another massage, which is so unfortunate (for many reasons). The other side of the problem here is that the ripple effect also works in the negative. The therapist missed out on a potentially huge learning opportunity - maybe they were just having an off day & needed to recenter. Or perhaps they hadn't received proper training or gained enough experience on how to interpret the way the muscles are responding. There are many more potential variables, but wanted to point this out because I don't feel many think it all the way through. And in the end - life is an ongoing learning experience to which we are all capable of teaching & learning from one another in process. Communication, understanding, & love are all keys in life's beautiful song!❤

When I see your mom she’s always happy and it’s so pure and raw and I would love to be able to make my mom smile so much. You inspire me so much you have no idea.
