  • hello!! thank you so much for watching. the full written recipe:
    300 ml warm milk
    2 tsp instant yeast
    80 g sugar
    1 egg
    2 tbsp melted butter
    420-500 g all purpose flour (don’t add all of it, start gradually until a dough has formed, the dough should be a little sticky)
    1. In a bowl combine together warm milk, sugar and yeast. Let the yeast bloom for 10 minutes.
    2. Whisk together one egg and melted butter. To that add in the bloomed yeast mixture. Start gradually adding in the flour, till a dough has formed. The dough should be a bit sticky. If it’s too sticky to work with, you can add more flour. Knead the dough on a well floured surface for 10 minutes. (you can also do this with a mixer on low speed, using a dough hook)
    3. Place the dough in a floured bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a towel and let it rest for 1-2 hours or when doubled in size.
    4. When the dough has risen, take out of the bowl and roll out into a rectangle. Cut into equal sized squares. Let the beignets rest for 20 minutes.
    5. While resting, fill a frying pan with a neutral oil, like canola oil or vegetable oil. Heat up the oil to 375f/190c and fry the beignets for 30-40 seconds on each side or until golden brown.
    6. Drizzle on honey and sift on powdered sugar. They taste the best, when they are still warm. Enjoy!!

    •80 grams sugar (2 ounces)
    •2 TEASPOONFUL of yeast
    •one egg
    •2 tablespoons melted butter
    •420-500 grams all purpose flour (14-17 ounces)

    This looks amazing! Great video editing too :)) I was wondering if we could store the rest of the dough and if so, where and how long it will last?

      hi, thank you!! i’m not sure, if you have already made it, but if you haven’t, you can do all the recipe steps up until the rising part and then place the dough in a fridge. it will still rise in the fridge, just a lot slower and last about 4 days.
      if you have already made the beignets, you can freeze the squares, just make sure there’s parchment paper in between them, so it doesn’t stick together. the beignets will last about 1-2 months. when you are ready to make them. take out of the freezer and place in the fridge to thaw them for a couple of hours or overnight. once thawed, place in room temperature for a hour or two. and then you can fry them.

    do you have any tips on how to reheat beignets? i was planning on taking them to an event but im worried that they won’t taste as good cooled down :(

      just on a stove in a pot, but remember that it should be warm (around 38c) if it’s too hot, it will kill the yeast
