Starting your own perfume brand? I host my online store with Shopify: shopify.pxf.io/jryWdn
For me this note is in so many of my favorite perfumes and since I’m making my own, I feel like it’s something I need to know 😅 thank you soo much
My pleasure
I've been trying to find Parline from several Perfume suppliers. Thank you for this video. I really appreciate it.
My pleasure
You're a life saver. I needed help with this accord
Sam i just want to say that you introduced me to perfumery based on a video I saw randomly and i couldnt be happier your the best perfumer youtuber out their and your videos are amazing as they teach so much thank you so much for introducing this art to me.
Thank you, I'm honoured that I'm the one to have introduced you to it!
Thanks Sam, it was really useful
Glad it was helpful!
I think heliotrope also is very commonly used for getting an almond accord, sometimes coconut accord depends on how much and what other chemicals you mix it with.
That's true! Heliotropin smells pretty much like marzipan, you can actually feel the powderiness of the powdered sugar
Great point
Thanks for the video man! Keep the good work! What about a good Rum accord, Ink or sand accord? Those are the ones I’m struggling with 😅
Thanks Sam for the great vid! Can you maybe give some clues how you make boozy notes like rum, cognac?
I’d love to recreate one like Angels Share 😍
Ethyl propionate, Cognac Essential Oil
So many new releases list this accord as well. Never truly understood it myself. Nor could I even pick it out. But like you mentioned, it could just be dosed so low that it's tough to isolate. I'll definitely be looking into Filbertone. Thanks again Sam!
Thanks!
I like the dive into specific accords, Any ideas for gunpowder type smell?
Love this ❤
Iris Concrete sometimes give me an almond vibe in the mid although it is really dry/dusty.
Interesting, I don't have that one
Thanks for the great video. This was super helpful in knowing what to purchase to make this accord. Any chance you can do a video on a pistachio accord? This one has been eluding me.
I don’t know, but I think there’s a pyrazine for pistachio
🔥 perfect timing because I was tinkering for an hour or so making a Baccarat Rouge inspired base and the “burnt sugar” seems to be my missing ingredient. Once again, thank you mate

I‘be been trying to make a walnut or a sesame accord but failed miserably a ton of times. I’d love to see your try! 😊
Nuezate has a black walnut note, so would be the perfect start for the former.
Hello Sam, thanks for everything from Costa Rica.
I'm trying to find out what the clean note or ingredient for the prada l'homme fragrance is.... what is you wild guess?
Sounds lovely
hi sam! can you do bread/bakery with accord
this guy is awesome
thanks for this video very inspiring
Thank you
Can you explain about "rouge" accord and how to make a rouge faceted perfume?
I haven't heard of that one - do you have a link referencing it?
The best pralines are made with toasted hazelnuts. I uses to make a phenomenal chocolate praline cake from scratch, including toasting almonds and hazelnuts, making the toffee and crushing them all to bits. I stopped when my cholesterol levels were measured.
Next best thing when you can’t have your sweets is to wear them 😅
@@blackbutterfly3537 I do!
Hey so when are you inviting me over again? ;)
@@sammacer Now!
I have 2 quick questions. Can fragrance oils be diluted in perfumes alcohol like essential oils?
And I bought a material called benzoin 20% dpg pourable. Is that already pre diluted in 80% dpg? And can that be mixed with materials that were diluted in perfumers alcohol?
Thanks in advance!
Can you please make a video replicating the smell of TF jasmine rouge. I have been obsessed with the fragrance of the jasmine notes but the even the eau de perfume of the brand didn’t last that long. Thank you
Hiya Sam, just a quick observation, I got some nuezate this week and after smelling it, I got no real hazelnut smell from it. It does remind me of walnuts, specifically Noccino, an Italian liquor that a friend of mine makes every year. also nuez, is walnut in Spanish, so kind of makes sense. Thanks again for the great video, every one helps a great deal, having a window into some of your processes.
Yea I agree with you, I don’t think it smells like hazelnuts either! I didn’t get walnuts myself, maybe I need to try again
This is so helpful!! Thank you Sam! I was wondering if you know where to buy caramel acetate or if it goes by another name, I’m having a hard time finding it.
I have everything else I may just make it without and see if I can sub in a dilution of solotone? I’ll try it out and update with my findings.
I really want to make a spiced praline perfume for fall now, I feel like that sounds lovely, maybe apple pie vibes.
I believe strawbery furanone is completely different. You can find caramel acetate at Harrison Joseph
@@sammacer it gets so confusing with all the different names for certain things. I’ll order it soon!! Excited to sniff it. Sorry for the confusion
It’s hard to replicate a smell you’ve never smelled haha
I'm sure I've smelled them at one point - but yes for a technical exercise it would be better to have them on hand
Hi Sam, can you tell me the title of that Jean Claude Ellena book? Thank you!
Perfume, The Alchemy of Scent
How soon into your fragrance creation journey did you start creating accords. I'm currently creating fragrances. I'm only going off of what smells good with hand drawn picture as my direction for my scent.
I started after a couple of months but in professional perfumery school they wait longer
Thanks for this 😊
I was only able to get 0.01g scale and I have been having problem in calculating my dilution.someone pls help me out 🙏
Check out my videos on how to make dilutions
In the gourmands, Madelaine accord could be interesting!
Let me know if you find a good one!
Hi Sam try heliotropex in this accord! It gives another almond tone in there.
I don't have that one
ah too bad, it's a very nice almond flowery note. useful but limited in the sense that maybe not everyone wants to smell like almonds. but in this context it does add an interesting layer
@@sammacer
Hi Sam, do you have to send your home made perfume to a lab for approval before you sell them or not? I’m thinking to sell my perfume, but I’m wondering if I have to do that!
It depends on the laws in your country
@@sammacer thank you for your response. I live in USA. I realized that I just have to follow the IFRA standards without testing or certification.
Sir can you tell me how to make solid perfume
Please make a saprare video for this
before i fully commit to perfumery i was wondering how much grams or mL of raw materials i should get?
Hello,
This is not an easy question to answer, I think you should first gain some theoretical knowledge.
You can either buy 100 ml of Iso E Super or 1g of Javanol, Javanol is much stronger than Iso E Super, so you can't say how many grams or ml you should buy, Perfumery doesn't work like that.
Hope this helps.
I recommend 10g of each and pre-dilute them all to 10%, so then you have up to 100g @10% to to your blending with.
Also I’d love to see your interpretation of a honey accord. I’m kinda lost on that one.
Don't mean to crash, but you need phenyl ethyl phenyl acetate.
@@SarahMcCartney4160 hi! no worries, I appreciate all the help. i just subscribed to your pateron and watched your jasmine honey karma video! it was so helpful, I just ordered some and can't wait to try out that formula. thank you so so much :)
She is right! If you want the easy option and get a nice pre-made one, pick up some Honey SigNature
Hey Sam interesting video as always! I don't know if it's just me but lately I've noticed a strange drop in the quality of your videos. It's hard for me to explain, but since the last few videos something feels off. I don't know, maybe I just can't get used to your beard (you look great btw) or something haha.
Interesting, I'd love to dig deeper into why. If you'd be interested in a quick video call to discuss, email me at sam@lux-terra.co.uk
Distilled water in Perfume : why? how much?
Some of us in the USA pronounce it pee-can and others pronounce it peh-caan
Haha I didn't know that
Take a shot every time he says praline
