For Molecule 01 they used a special version of Iso E Super called ISO Gamma Super which isn’t available to buy. Apparently the closest to Iso Gamma Super is Timbersilk.

Iso E Super smells better than Timbersilk on its own IMO. More velvety.

Wow this is the best explanation of this I’ve found out there! I’ve been trying to figure out the individual roles of Iso E Super, Galaxalide, Hedione and others as worker materials, beyond just the scent. Is it right that the Iso E Super is a solid base that allows longevity, Galaxalide enhances the blending of the materials and then Hedione gives some airiness and projection? And it it right you kind of need 1 blender 1 base and 1 projector in there along with your scent… is this how to take care of the “worker” part of the equasion? Perhaps its not that simple. Oh, btw where did you learn this stuff, there seems to be a lack of resources out there!

Yeah, you're thinking along the right lines and you have a good understanding of those molecule's though at the end of the day it's all relative with regards to longevity and projection. The more fragrances you make and the more awareness you develop for your materials the more complex your fragrances will become because you'll add more and more oils to the mix. This alone can help your fragrance to last longer but it's also about how everything reacts together and the alchemy that's taking place. Use a combination of things. Having a higher ratio of base notes will also help your perfume to last longer. A combination of diffent musk's and resins will also help. Do lots of different things and you'll get better results.
Almost everything I know came from figuring it out on my own, just sitting blending oils and observing what happened, putting the information into my awareness and building my intuition. Now I have a good feel for it. There really isn't much information out there, but the basenotes forum is a great place to go if you have a question about a molecule etc. When I began I also found a youtuber who had a perfume review channel and he had about five videos of him making a perfume. He didn't give any formulas away but he explained the very basics......mixing base notes, heart notes and top notes etc and I just pieced it all together along the way. This guy actually recently started his own perfume house and released his own fragrance line to buy but sadly at the same time he took down those videos so you can't watch them anymore. I found that a little disheartening.

Which alcohol use to mix ISO E Super? Ethyl alcohol?

Thank you so much! I'm grateful for your expertise! I know that there are percentages allowed regarding certain Aroma chemicals within the total blend, however, should you use aroma chemicals like Iso E pre diluted, say to 20% the same way you do with essential oils? Or do you use things like Iso E and Hedione neat, so long as the percentage within the total is compliant? I know that some aroma chemicals such as Ambroxan or vanillin are usually diluted down to 10 percent or less. Thank you again.

Hi, you use Iso E Super and Hedione at 100%. Oils are diluted if they are too strong and as a consequence would overpower all the other oils in your blend. If you're referring to IFRA, it's true that your perfume materials have limitations but this only applies if you sell your perfume, however as an example something like Safranal sould be used in a 1% dilution because IFRA allow very little in the finished Perfume. The other important thing to note is that once you add ethanol to make your bottle of perfume you are diluting your oils further, therefore if you add some Safranal and you are over the recommended amount before adding ethanol you will probably find that after adding your ethanol Safranal will be at an acceptable amount. I hope this helps.

What I am unclear about is the 2nd ingredient "perfumers alcohol" used to make Molecule 01. I know you use ISO E Super, but I cannot find confirmation on where to purchase the PA. the descriptions on Amazon aren't very clear. I have seen for sale on Perfumer's Apprentice a product called "base de parfum". What is unclear is if that is "Perfumers Alcohol". Haven't really been able to get a solid answer on products that you can purchase. Long story short. What specific products could I purchase that are perfumers alcohol?

It depends on the country you live in. Where do you live?
