Catchpole - 720S - Carfection - Perfection! Brilliant, honest and engrossing, I could watch and listen to Henry doing this all day!
couldn't agree more
Yes
Isn't this a wonderful channel? Proper content and not one of those bs self-centered supercar channels. Even before Henry arrived I was a big fan. This is up there with Harry's Garage, Petrolicious, Jay Leno's Garage and the usual suspects (Evo, Autocar, Top Gear etc....) as an absolutely gem for proper car lovers. If anyone from Carfection ever ventures across the pond to Galway, Ireland they're getting a pint from me!!!!
Well, Henry is a an EVO child so what did you expect.
This is really the only nagazine style channel i like. Give me the ones you don't like i love channel's like shmee and MRJWW better content then most magazine style channel's
@@allensaunders449 I don't really have too much of a problem with Shmee and JWW but in general I despise supercar channels. Rich idiots who think that because they can parrot off a few facts and figures and can afford flashy cars that they're real petrolheads. I bet most of them don't even know what a spanner looks like never mind describing the four stages of a four stroke engine!!!!!
Petrolicious ... just a really great channel
Sayak Majumder forgot petrolicious!!!!
Henry Catchpole is in the top 3 of motoring journalist in the world right now. I love his work.
I have him and Jethro as my top 2
Chris Harris too
who's your other two?
@@barirwin8559 Chris Harris and Doug DeMuro.
@@coquio Yep ok, hat doffing from me. So glad there wasnt a Top gear presenter in your list. Your 3 choices would make a well rounded TV show.
Chris , the lads lad. Henry, the thinking mans petrolhead. And Doug for the quirks and features!
"Others seemed to agree but seemed to have forgotten by the time they wrote their reviews".
This statement is why I regard Henry and Carfection so highly . They don't forget to say how they feel . I never get the feeling they are pandering to a marque .
Great vid , camera work is already above the call of duty yet still improving all the time .
Feels.
finally a man with a brain.. ohh FYI: Many pro testers in EU have said the exact same thing about the 720S pure and truth spoken.. They are seldom in these days cause the Bandwagons are to affraid to say something to upset the owners so they`re never allowed to drive it again ohh at least they think its so..
Henry stands for professionalism and integrity. Absolutely love his reviews . Always
I have had my 720s for approximately nine months, I absolutely love it, I can spank any Ferrari Lamborghini or Porsche I encounter, It is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion, I’ve not had a single issue with it and the local service team in Vancouver are truly wonderful,
The 720S is such a beautiful car! The wheels, the body lines, the front and rear end are all gorgeous! Great video as always! Your channel inspires me to make the best car content I can!
I don't know what Henry was talking about in terms of looks, this is one of the only cars I can think of that is universally admired for it's looks
Marcus Hogan many people don’t like the front. That’s what happens with unusual design
It's probably one of the most beautiful cars period in my opinion
Ilias G1 it looks great but the 570 looks as good
@@marcushogan6613 Universally admired?? Not even close. If there was one supercar in recent history that's been criticized for its looks it's the 720s. The headlights alone were hated by more people than any other feature of any other car that I can remember (until the Senna and Speedtail were unveiled).
The 720s is turning into one of the best supercars of this generation
It Already Is
Well when you outperform million dollar cars at less than 1/3 the price...
I guess sales on the high end weren't good enough so McLaren just decided to throw the ultra premium marketing handbook out the window and make a car that's both as powerful and affordable as they could possibly make. It's like the British version of the Chevrolet Corvette, no wonder the car is gaining fans.
Then why are so many people, journalists and owners, disliking it? On paper there's no other car that can touch it, but when it comes to actually driving the thing it seems to lack something.
@@Speednote10 (According to them) it lacks the voraciousness and vivacity that the Italians, and it's own P1 are noted for. It's a very British car.
Edit: Seven months later, the sheer performance that has been eked out of this thing has thrown those complaints into a ditch.
@@el7284
I haven't driven the 720s. But based upon what many other journalists (Chris Haris, including) have said, I'm not sure I agree with you. Do you regard the P1 "very British"? I ask because it is a British machine built by the same company that produce the 720s, of course. But here's my take on the 720s. I think with the 720s McLaren tried to deliver the best possible driving experience (both on and off the track) out of a single machine. It is not intended to serve as the very best daily driver. Because, it is not the most comfortable and practical car out there. Neither was it intended to be the very best track supercar. That honor would go to one of the more track-focused machines. Now, in order to get the best experience out of the 720s (in terms of steering feel/responsiveness and rawness) it would have to be driven on tracks. Supercars like the 675LT, 911GT2RS and 488 Pista will provide better steering feel and responsiveness, as well as rawness, even when driven on public roads. And that's because of their very track-focused nature. But that's what I think those who complain about the 720s' driving dynamics seem to miss out on. Even some who understand the car is just the replacement for the 650s, and not the track-focused 675LT. And it's probably not all at fault, in that regard. Because, the 720s is so blazingly fast, that you would always expect the excitement to also resonate in its driving characteristics, whether or not you're driving it on the track. And those who've driven the more track-focused supercars, in particular, would likely expect that out of a car that is so fast. I have not seen any video of Henry driving the 720s around a track. That doesn't mean he hasn't. But I do know many who shared a different opinion of the car, after driving it on the track. Tim (Shmee150) is in that company.
After that huge disappointment over at EVO, it's wonderful to get a notification - NEW VIDEO - Carfection and Henry - This is a proper channel!
EVO is dead. Shame to see them fall off like that
HG504 Not so fast, they've still got Sutcliffe though, so there's hope.
‘....having said that...power is addictive...’ with such a grin on your face, brilliant!
McLaren - check
Tactical roll neck - check
Excellent diction - check
Great review as always.
That ending though. Power is addictive.
it's not another supercar, it's a fucking piece of pure art. that's McLaren
It's amazing how this car has grown on me in terms of its appearance - I remember thinking it looked god awful when I saw the first pictures, probably because of the headlight ducts... but now I think it's a fantastic looking car - svelte, futuristic and purposeful.
You’re a legend Henry! Love this video so much as with every video you put out. Would be cool if you drove more older supercars as I would love to see you review the f430, CGT, McLaren F1, etc. even if you have already reviewed them in the past. This channel is on a whole other level now and I would love to see older “modern” supercars with this same amazing cinematic approach reviewed by you.
Just waiting for Henry Catchpole's 488 Pista review.
"You want to be a part of it, not just impressed by it." Very well said Mr. Catchpole!
Most engaging presenter on RUclips. Love your ability to take us on the journey Henry, thank you!
i love this channel, editing is simply amazing... ever since i found the channel i watched all the vids. its like you go for a little car journey every time you watch these vids
All, including the music is crafted thoughtfully and tastefully. Never overpowering or obtuse. Kudos to the videographers with the cinematic sensibilities and who ever the drone pilot is. As a professional camera op, I really appreciate the effort you chaps put in! Henry’s writing is superb as usual. Thanks for doing GREAT automotive TV. It is a huge amount of work. We appreciate the effort!
I'm actually glad that you guys gave the 720s a little revisit, it just deserved it. Carfections videos are so engaging especially with Henry Catchpole!
Cant wait for you guys to review the upcoming 720s LT as it will probably bring the missing sparkle… but who knows.
Keep it up!
nice one Henry, it's good to see some reviews that aren't just neverending praise as it so often happens for those types of car. Keep it up!
Very very nice Henry, as usual. We don’t need any other car videos, just yours and thank you !
I miss those Chris Harris Drives videos from TopGear...But..not anymore...we've got carfection
they are making them again! Just check the topgear site!
This guy is my favourite car reviewer especially with the back ground music just suits him well ! ...
Especially when he reviewed the manual pourche gt that was my favourite
This editing is next level, always great to see another carfection upload.
Catchpole remains the premiere car reviewer. Period. An unbiased, uncompromised view of cars most of us couldn't dream of owning, Henry provides the best possible verbal experience of these cars, allowing us the opportunity of a glimpse at the magnificence available with the finer vehicles on the market. Kudos, Catchpole. Keep up the good work.
You and Chris Harris are the best car reviewers about. Love all your videos . Keep up the good work 👍 respect ✌️
That road, that scenery. It's breathtaking, the orange McLaren somehow fits it so well.
@herewithcoffee that's up to Carfection to tell us, I personally have no idea 😂
It’s the Elan Valley outside Rhayader in Mid Wales. There is a loop round the reservoirs there and the stunning mountain road out to Aberystwyth. It is a truly stunning area with fantastic roads and open spaces
@@ScottTaylor_ebitconsultancy Thanks Scott...was wondering. Scotland but without the midges 😉
I need a road trip around Mid Wales after watching that! Great vid!
Your cinematography is brilliant. Cheers from Oregon USA
Phenomenal cinematography as usual @Carfection... Great car!
The best reviews are done by Henry Catchpole, I am a huge fan of yours. Great channel with great content. Not sure why you don’t have more subscribers. I agree with you Henry, the 570S Spider would be my McLaren of choice along with the new 992 Carrera 4S. Brilliant work!
Your car reviews are on a higher level than any other car show. The Grand Tour is entertainment, Carfection is passion.
Love all the host behind the carfection. Make more !!
Very well presented and produced clip! Awesome stuff
Superb, honest review as usual! Thank you for these vids. Outstanding production quality :) (6:47 we see you little drone ;) )
I just want to use this medium to appreciate all of you at Carfection. You deliver excellent content and awesome cinematography. You all are awesome! Thanks for entertaining the car enthusiast in me. Have a good one!😁
Love the narration!!
I mean I love Henry Catchpole, so I might be biased - but the quality of these Carfection reviews is just amazing!
Great job guys! Please don't stop doing these awesome videos! I really appreciate the effort you put into your productions!
ah yeah and I don't like the 720S
Got to appreciate you man and the guys who edited this video Damn
Wowwwww what a cinematic review.exellent work
This video !!! ❤️❤️❤️
The car looks beautiful in Bruce McLaren orange 😂 and the back drop and the sound has really made me want a McLaren 720s 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The way the show's delivered is like no other. Its like listening to a fantastic store everytime 😀😀😀 you get all the info and a feel as though you've been listening to an exciting novel for men. Men love cars and carfection is the best book for men. LOVE IT. LOVE IT. Someday soon we'll do a show together. Can't wait. 👏👏👏👏
4 men? What an odd thing to focus on.
@@MonsterSound that was just a reference to the fact that men LOVE cars. Doesn't exclude anyone. Feel free to add what ever you like. I can only speak for me ok. Monster. 👍👍👍👍
Its an awesome car mate. Someday I'll have these on my car show as well.
@@letsrollout7307 You left a courteous response so let me try to expand. You state as fact that "men LOVE cars" and this "Doesn't exclude anyone." I disagree.
If you had stated "many people LOVE cars" I would agree. You used the word men twice in your original post, thereby implicating you were talking about men - excluding females. This was not your intention as you stated later this "Doesn't exclude anyone", however when my daughter and I read your 1st post about "...men. Men..." we both thought WHHAAA? I doubt you care but my daughter and I do. cheers
Always love Catchpole's review.
Best cinematography in the biz, You guys do a stellar job
Most Sensible and Logical review for 720S ...Excellent work by Henry as ever....
Once again awesome work guys! Just a suggestion: yall should come over to the states and do a review on/around the Blue Ridge Parkway in central Virginia. Some beautiful roads over here. Just in case you run out of road in Europe :)
Thank you for being honest with the review.
Stunning photography!!
What a car. What a video. What a channel and last but not least, wha an incredible host. Henry is seriously on top of the game right now, I also have to salute the guys that came up with this brilliant piece of cinematography - George Peck and Charlie B Rose. You three together create my absolute favourite media content in the world, hands down and it's not even close even with my favourite TV shows (car related or unrelated).
I can't wait for the LT version of this.. Rawness and pure speed simultaneously just like the original 675LT but with this chassis and even more power? McLaren can't come up with it fast enough
The spec of this 720S is PERFECT!
tHank you Henry, lovely film and made much more senses compared to others. Love your film and can’t wait for more.
Just absolutely love Wales - just look at those roads! And of course in true Carfection style exceptional cinematography!
Superb video as ever, really good content and video footage. 720s for me is the performance bargain of the moment.
Henry back at it with another classy car review.
The sheep at the end is really cute! Great review too!
Top notch, as always!
Great review as always with Henry! But would have been nice to have the review of a TRACK PACK car on... track! ;-)
Love the honest review and not falling in line just to get extra privileges
Without doubt the best car channel on RUclips ... after all which other has wolverine testing a mclaren
Thank you for your honest appraisal of the 720 S. You seem to be one of the few, that doesn’t allow the Herculean acceleration to sway your overall perspective 😉!
Another masterpiece!! Thanks!
Always loved the look of this car. But just wait for the LT version of this car over the track pak when it arrives
Henry is such a fine gentleman at describing a car, never disappoints
Mclaren just makes the most beautiful supercars in my opinion. I am hoping by the time I get a bit older and richer that manuals make a comeback, because I realized from my Mercedes, I don’t personally feel involved or even relatively enjoy paddle shifting, I just turn it off and put it back in auto mode. My Miata Rf manual I just bought however, is simply a hoot! It’s down 200+ horsepower but I could care less, because I am engaged and I love that little thing. Needless to say I sold my Mercedes, possibly waiting on a manual Supra if that ever comes to fruition. I’ll still keep the Rf by the way.
Epic as always.
Henry, epic film as always!
Great car countryside colour co-ordination. Nice to watch.
Carfection - Perfection!
Love this car channel
I LOVE YOUR WORK..... SIMPLE AS THAT....
I actually really like this channel and the review person
Reviews like this are why catchpole is such legend.
This channel's photography is First Rate!
I cannot wait for the LT version of this.
I thought the quick version of the 720S was the Senna! I mean, it's based on the 720S 'monocell 2' chassis.
Firebrand nah, I think it will see an LT model. The Senna is the successor to the same series as the P1.
Despite being based on the 720s, the Senna is in a separate series to that of the 720s. The Senna is neither a P1 successor, it’s simply just a separate car which has been mentioned here, same story with the Speedtail. The P1’s successor is expected to arrive within the next 5 years.
@@Nemoticon maybe you're wrong... the Senna its based in monocell 3, an evolution of the chassis of the 720s. Even though they used the same Engine ( 720S has almost the same amount of power as the Senna).
@@martinortiz575 To me, and knowing McLaren... the two cars probably same the vast majority of bits, lol. Creating an entirely new car doing so is what they do best. With the F1 background, evolution through fine tuning with interchangeable parts, that's how motorsport teams make their race cars. I love it.
Another amazing film from Carfection. Great stuff Henry, I agree with you that the fun in a car is from the interaction between the driver, the tyres and the road. Getting the chassis to move around a bit is where the fun is at. Therefore, I can't say this car appeals to me very much. Also, no matter how many times I see it, I still feel it's missing its eyes which is disturbing and reminds me of a skull.
Wen you click a carfection video and start praying for a catchpole review 😃✊
Love you guys.
Many pro testers in EU have said the exact same thing about the 720S pure and truth spoken.. They are seldom in these days cause the Bandwagons are to affraid to say something to upset the owners so they`re never allowed to drive it again ohh at least they think its so..
Carfection and henry you are the few breed that speaks their mind NEVER lose thaat so we can get a truth opinion
Fantastic video as always. Agree with the main points - the 720S is a stunning and phenomenally quick car, but the distinct lack of steering feel does not provide the necessary feedback and hence confidence to really exploit it's true capability on the road... which may not be a bad thing. Fitted with appropriate tyres, this is less of an issue on track, attested to by numerous sensational lap times. Nonetheless, I personally think of the 720S as more of a Hyper-GT.
Epic! Beam me down there Scotty...are roads as desolate as they are beautifully protrayed?
Thats more like what I wanna see. Thanks so much
superb! please make an video for keonigsegg agera rs, regera....
The car is so amazing that it makes the driver feel like it’s doing all the work
The look on that sheep's face when he passed it...priceless. The 720S is a wonder in design and use of power. Hope Henry drives the new Senna soon.
Idk what mclaren did but seeing the Roma video and this one, the engine/exhaust sound are so much more present! In the Roma video even when pushing, it was barely audible!
Love these reviews, though it does feel a bit like “this isnt a real car because it doesnt have a gear stick” days. If you want to feel more engaged, get a gear stick, but if you want blistering performance you'll need flappy paddles. This time around, the car doesnt feel as exciting because it needs to be more competent to handle the performance. You can't be breathing on the necks of hypercars and still allow the car to dither over the road in need of constant corrections. Given the choice I'll opt for performance, competence and pure engineering - for me that's the McLaren 720S.
Great vid, great car
I have no doubt. Evo has changed the name to Carfection. Kudos to HC.
I pressed like as soon as I heard Henry's voice.... And it was no brainer 😎
When critiques claim there is such idea of " bad because it's too perfect " or " perfection is boring "
I see what you mean Harry. My favorite Mclaren is the 570GT, Perfection on wheels!
Where is the location where this video was filmed? Beautiful...
Where is that bench at the start located? I'd very much like to sit there and look at the scenery
Quality content!
Guys an elite guy with Sutcliffe ,Jethro,Harris and that old fella metcalffe
The legend that is Henry and a McLaren video!!! Click 😉
Would you still prefer the bucket seats over standard on a long drive like 2 hours +
Well done Catchpole.
