I first saw Jimmy performing in Glasgow, before he was prominent on TV. I was a relatively posh boy at a private school, so I got his schtick, but a lot of the audience seemingly didn’t get his mordant self-irony. Sometimes I think my fellow Scots think they have a monopoly on self-satire. I’d love to meet him in person - apparently he’s very sweet and charming.
