But after just a few minutes later, when I started something else, I couldn't grasp the concept anymore. I don't understand how he could have all the concepts and theories in his brain with the limitations he had. He had a brilliant mind and was truly a unique and great thinker. And as you say, he had a good sense of humor and self-distancing. Just look at when he was in The Simpsons. He had no problem making jokes about himself even though he probably didn't have the easiest life.

Most of her insults are in the intros, which is clearly mostly scripted. (Jimmy often asks a question which leads smoothly into someone's prepared bit.) Rachel's not a comedian. But she can hold her own, including in the later bits of the show, which are not scripted.
You cut out the bit where Jimmy is saying he is a stickler for the rules and likes getting it in 30 seconds. And Rachel responding with ya we've all met Karoline. That was one of the best come backs she has ever had. Or the Saves on the VAT you'd know all about that Jimmy line.
