    Hey man, I loved the video! This is a career field I've been interested in, but I also want to continue my bachelors degree. What is the schedule like for you? Is it a career that can realistically let me go to school?

      Hey I appreciate that a lot! Honestly our schedules can vary a lot with a lot of determining factors. Your schedule can vary anywhere from 8-12 hour shifts. While working anywhere from 2-5 days a week!

      You can still find time to take a class or two at a time during your term though

      @@beavers2510 Thank you for taking the time to fill me in! I'm pretty used to 12 hour shifts, but the rotating amount of days sounds kind of tough with school. Like you said though, I can see being able to take a class or two at a time with this job. Thanks for the info!

      @@beavers2510 I was going in for security forces but they did not approve my waiver so I’m going another route with another branch with updated documents. I’m just praying for the best 🤞🏽🙏🏽

      If you’re looking to do more law enforcement work then becoming a civilian cop would be your best bet. If you’re looking to do more security/detail work then SF is good.

    Are you allowed to pick and choose how you carry your pistol? I'm not a big fan of hip holsters. What if I want to mount it to my vest or wear a carjacker style holster?

      If an enemy country were to attack U.S. base (Specifically Air Force), SF is your defense.

      You never know what can happen while at work. It depends on what base/area you’re at. You could have situations like active shooters, gate runners, child abductions, wanted suspects. But yea the likelihood can depend a lot on where you’re at

    I’m trying to join SF myself and I might have seen you on base with my dad maybe someone else, and do you guys do tours of the SF building’ did that at Youngstown

      I kind of just got lucky. I put it as number 1 on my dream sheet and was lucky enough to get it

    Bro is it worth it doing security forces? I'm in the process of taking my ASVAB but this is the job I want if I have a choice the other I have on my list is intel is it worth it I mean doing this for 5 years+? Having a hard time deciding

      If you’re looking to be heavy in law enforcement, becoming a civilian cop is probably you’re best bet. If you’re looking for more security/detail work then security forces is better.

    I've heard SF tech school has been extended in 2022. Is that true? How many weeks is it now?

      Yes it got moved to around 5-6 months

      I don’t believe that’s the case. Most people I know that have recently graduated said it’s the same length, if not shorter

      You’ll have higher rank coming in with a degree. Which means more money for you

      @@thomasryan2679 I’m planning on having a career in law enforcement. While you don’t need a “degree”, you still need 60 college credits in my state (New York). So it’s the best option for me to take. Maybe not for the military, but yeah… it does help you become a police officer.

      I think so. They have stipulations in the Air Force that you can set up that’ll allow you to be stationed near your child if you are not the custodial parent. So yes I recommend it. Give your kid medical benefits and all that stuff. I’d def look into it if I were you and ask a recruiter some questions

      Giving you a heads up from another SF stand point. It’s a rather easy job, but can get stressful. Depending on what shift you are on you can definitely make it work. Usually an on base child care will take them while you are on duty or other base resources. Only bad thing is leadership can be toxic 9 times out of 10.

      It’s called srt, and more than likely not. Unless you are AGR, but regardless most bases don’t have an SRT official program. Currently at my base we have TRT which is literally the same thing, but only a few personal per flight get accepted.

      In that job, hours and hours of boredom can go to hell really quick. It's about paying attention to what's going on around you, noticing the small things that aren't normal and reacting accordingly.
