I love this video and halle and chloe are so amazing... Chloe has such a rich dark voice sort of like beyonce... Halles voice is sweet and ethereal like an angel.
*They are musical geniuses!* ✨ *Chloe* really reminds me of *Beyonce* & *Halle* left me SHOOKETHED with that resonant belt! ✨ They're gonna perform at the Grammy's as well 🌟 *P.S.* Your hair looks amazing, O'Neil 🌌
They have the range !!! I actually wish I was Halle’s throat lol I really love everything about her voice! Thanks for doing this video as always I gained much knowledge. Did they hit a triplet or was it a trill ? Also shout out to your editing ... you’re killing it and we see it !
I just love everything they did it was as if they set down and wrote out a ten year plan to be the best and they my god are just that. the way they harmonize and use their vowels to hold and support a note my goodness lort . My edge line is gone good thing I have an barber appointment tomorrow 😍😍🥰😘😘🙌🏾😩😩😩
This made me appreciate them more, I hadn't see this performance and every time you paused I wondered what they were gonna do next. they took an old song and made a whole new story
I just found your channel today and love everything about it! And especially as a music geek and arranger myself, I was shook and glued to my screen. Keep being your great wonderful self and inspiring and teaching others!!
Thanks so much O'neil these girls are so amazing! Love the way you break down the vocals on every turn.. youre so fantastic, the way you make it so easy that even someone untrained can understand it.
We lost a great talent today out of nowhere. Can you please do a vocal talk through to Janice Freeman - The Story? She was a contestant on The Voice in 2017 and just passed via blood clot at the age of 33.
People always sleep on people with deep voices like it's easy and it's not. I love that they are different notes and they kill in their lane. I don't love one more than the other because I know the work behind music and real singing.
Great breakdown, I'd love to watch you review/breakdown their performance at the Grammys. I love the arrangement they did for the Donny Hathaway' tribute.
I’d be really interested to see what you think of the vocal techniques in flamenco, since flamenco singers use vibrato and arpeggios in really distinct ways. Maybe check out Rosalia’s song De Plata. Her vibrato and range is just stunning.
Chloe doesn’t sound like Beyoncé but she definitely sings hard like bey! Chloe has dark but yet beautiful tone. Her vibrato shakes more than Beyoncé if I’m making since. Beys vibrato is strong but it flows so beautiful like Halle. I can’t explain it. Chloe’s throat sounds more constricted to me and not as opened. Just to be sure I went and listened to Beyoncé’s version and it confirmed the two different vibratos.
I noticed you said that Halle has slightly more range and I was just wondering if you could explained that to me? I kind of thought they had they same range and Chloe kind of matches Halle with her Low notes...? I’m not really musically inclined so idk
I love your analysis, and the comment you made about them not being belters. I think that's their worst mistake and I understand it's a stylistic choice that is supposedly setting them apart from other singers. But belting is such a crucial and pivotal point in a singers voice and replacing it with head voice is extremely risky. I felt like I was literally hearing them for the first time on this performance because I've never heard them in this vain before. I hope this won't be the first and last times we hear this.
Do you mean in terms or vocal health or in terms of their sound? Vocally, head voice, is actually less risky IMO. That is if it's a true "connected" head voice. If their sound was more disconnected, I'd be more concerned! But it would definitely be nice to hear them belt it out!
No I'm speaking about their sound in general. Of course I realize that head dominant belts or even masked head notes are much healthier and less damaging then having a balanced mix or a chesty one which is the alternative I guess. But I've just felt like they abandoned their belting registers completely which turned me off from listening to their music and just thought maybe it was fears or just a lack of skill. But obviously it isn't I miss having resonant belters in the industry with younger singers. Most belters nowadays are throaty and that's not the worst flaw since it's the contemporary realm and not the classical one. But it made me appreciate the girls talent all the more, and the fact that it hasn't been utilized makes me feel like I'm missing out.
@@taytaybeynippy486 I believe they have something in store. Plus they're still VERY young. Halle is only 18, let's not forget that, and chloe will be 21
@@taytaybeynippy486 Their head voice flipping is definitely an aesthetic that is an acquired taste. But I do think, like @ChrissyG said they have a LOT of time to grow and with where they are now, I think they will be interesting no matter how they end up singing in the future. Good belting is definitely rare to find amongst the new generation of artists, but I think it has a lot to do with the general trajectory music has taken; one that is dumbed-down, lazier and more easily expired. It's really sad.
I really don't hear the similarities. Beyoncé's voice is more husky, distinctive vibrato, with more range. They definitely don't belt out often like Beyoncé
It’s a little bit more than skin deep. It’s about where Chloe intuitively goes when improvising. Run-wise, she echoes some of Beyoncé’s vowel endings. Chloe also has the very forward placement and percussive onset that makes Bey’s voice so powerful. Also, Chloe shares that husky, darkness to Bey’s voice. Now in terms of style, the two are different, but Chloe is almost like Beyoncé ‘s child with how similar their voices are.
@@oneilgerald yes. She also sings directly on top of the breath like Beyonce and sings firmly in the mask like u described..very similar technical attributes.. she also has bey's roundness too. Great description!
When Halle said “America” the first time and that belt resonated....we both danced lol
I LOVE IT!!!!! When someone's singing well, your body just KNOWS! 😁
Vocals had me SHOOK! People sleep on them. I appreciate their techniques and their style and their harmonies because they are so amazing
I LOVE how you break it down
Thank you so much for watching! 😊
They are the only people I cared for in the Superbowl

Their GRAMMY performance could be CAREER-defining. I'm excited! And thanks RE: my hair! I'm experimenting!
Every time I watch these I'm just nodding my head in agreement as if I actually know the terminology because it describes it all so perfectly hahaha
I AM FINISHED!!!!
Can NOT wait for The Little Mermaid with Halle The Great in the lead. Hoping that Chloe also gets a juicy supporting role as one of Ariel’s sisters.
They have the range !!! I actually wish I was Halle’s throat lol I really love everything about her voice! Thanks for doing this video as always I gained much knowledge. Did they hit a triplet or was it a trill ? Also shout out to your editing ... you’re killing it and we see it !
You're awesome! I'm glad I could share some of what I know! And thanks for shouting out the editing! It's HARD WORK out here! 😁
Hey, O'Neil. You should check out Chloe and Halle at the Grammys. They killed it!

I LOVE that performance!
Your knowledge and appreciation for this performance was so enjoyable
Love your Choe x Halle vocal analyses! Could you do their Star Spangled Banner one as well? Those performances are just as epic!
Brilliant. You explained more to me about how music works then all the years I struggled to learn to play an instrument.
Damn! You know your shit! Loved watching you break it down. They are an amazing duo.
9:39 that little vocal brake halle did confused the hell outta me lol. I swore it was Chloé...then Chloé started singing lol

Very nice talk through. You were very knowledgeable. A good watch for a first time viewer!
I credit you for explaining that very well thank you
voce é incrivel!!
Change Me-Tamela Mann??!!! Interested in your view on gospel artists vocal decisions
I definitely will be delving into more gospel voices in the future! In the meantime, check out my videos on Karen Clark Sheard!

Where Is The Love! So beautiful!!
New subby. Loved your thorough break down of the vid.
Thank youuu!
Great job

Mariah Carey singing this song on 1990 is also iconic
Great breakdown, I'd love to watch you review/breakdown their performance at the Grammys. I love the arrangement they did for the Donny Hathaway' tribute.
Analyze their Grammy’s performance. It was superb.
i suggest KZ vocal talkthrough, i really want to hear what u think about her singer 2018 contest performences

I would like you to do some vloths on The Fours singers like Noah.
You should do a Talk through or Vloth for Ryan Dan Like The Sun they are amazing
I noticed you said that Halle has slightly more range and I was just wondering if you could explained that to me? I kind of thought they had they same range and Chloe kind of matches Halle with her Low notes...? I’m not really musically inclined so idk
Yeah I think their ranges are the same, where Chloe can go slightly lower and Halle can go slightly higher

Yes but Chloe’s voice is really similar to Beyoncé’s. probably the most similar to Bey’s in the industry.

I said the same thing! I don’t hear Beyoncé voice either. Now she sings hard like her but two diff vibratos.
You're a genius.
Woah! I'm humbled!
Hi !
What do you think about Serpentwithfeet ?...
😉
can you do a video on Tamar Braxton?
I actually have reviewed Tamar many times on this channel! Check out my first VLOTH! ruclips.net/video/gtHUZN-4sfs/видео.html
Fabulous Review Untill The "Mic Pull" Theory...🙌🏿
Sir, you haven’t done a reaction on their tiny desk nor Halle’s part of your world?!? Sir please!
Chloe’s ending note sounds like an A5 to me
Nope, it's an Ab5.
And Halle hit a C6
hi I have a song on youtube call I do anything for you I wont to know if I am singing in mixed voice belt
Do gospel singer Jekalyn Carr, pls
It’s really annoying when you pause every 2 seconds
He clearly labelled the video as a talkthrough. What were you expecting?
You talk too damn much 🙄
B. Nixon 🤦🏽♂️ Girl it’s called a vocal TALK THROUGH ! Take a seat 💁🏽♂️
@@coreysmith781 Lmao Ikr - they must've thought it was just a reaction. Wrong channel for that basicness lol
B. Nixon I agree 😂😂😂
Corey Smith this video didn’t need to be 12 minutes. There’s a thing called react THEN say your thoughts
This is an educational video
