Be still my heart. These are so amazing. Funny you should mention Heidi. I have so many of Aleenes TV show on VCR tapes that I am not able to see anymore. I recorded them trying to avoid the commercials and they did not translate well to watching them again.
Oh my gosh Mark, I haven't heard anything from Heidi Borcher since she was on her mother Aleene Jackson's TV show with her sister Tiffany. My friends Mom was an elementary school art teacher and she introduced me to the work of Aleene Jackson in the late 1960's. I've been a fan ever since and sure to miss the good old days watching them on TV. I was so happy to see Tiffany has a channel. I'll have to check out the old video her intro page says she's shared. Thank you so much for the link. I love your version of Aleene's flowers. As always, your creations are colorful and happy, bringing joy to my heart.
@@MarkMontanoMakeYourMark What a blessing you knew/know them, and I'm sure they felt/feel the same about knowing you. Thanks to your video, I found the daughter's online!
Oooh that first fabric you used - I crave it! I love how you give a little history with each craft you show us. Those flowers came out so beautifully!!! Now I am off to check out Heidi's video - thank you so much for sharing !!
Maybe I live under a rock because I have never seen this craft before, but you can bet your sweet @$$ I am going to try it I love making flowers, from coffee filters, crepe paper, tissue paper and feathers and I have used some fabric, but very basic styles, I never thought to glue wire to it, so thank you for sharing these ideas xox
💚💙🖤 Absolutely Amazing!!! The color of that purple, blue and black material is beautiful. Then you were working with the blue polka dot material and I was like, yeah ok, but then you added all that red, Wow, just wow!!! You have a good eye for color combos. They are stunning!!!
Hi Mark! I love these flowers! I have so much material that would be beautiful for these lovely flowers! I feel a flowery weekend coming up! Have a great weekend!
Absolutely gorgeous, as usual! I remember doing something like this in elementary school, but using pantyhose material to cover every leaf wire and painting them, then embellish. Waw, I completely forgot how beautiful they were… well, yours are simply gorgeous!!! Thanks for sharing!
They were fantastic flowers. I have never made this kind of flowers. I am moving. But this going in my todo file for later .I ❤️ how they turned out. You are so awesome. Stay safe . And be well .
I have to say that the flowers are a great idea from the past that I had forgotten But I wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed the history of this craft.......Didn't know, so interesting
I learned to make these at Catholic School summer program thank you for bringing back a sweet memory of my favorite class and sister Mary my mom has a portrait that she did of me

I know a cute wall 'vase' for these, it's not my idea but I think it'd be perfect. You cut off the top of a lotion or even toothpaste tube, clean it out of course, so that you have sort of a cone shape, paint and decorate it with fabric, lace and ribbons whatever you like. Add a wire to make it hangable - whether poked through the vase or wrapped around it, place a piece of Styrofoam and your flowers in it and hang it on the wall. A bit less plastic in the environment and a bit of pretty on your walls.
