Bandai 1/2 Gashapon Machine Plus Review - Hobby Clubhouse | SD Gundam ガシャポン

- The 1/2 scale Gashapon Machine Plus (ガシャポンマシン+) is a half-sized recreation of Bandai's new generation of gashapon machines slowly being deployed in Japan. While gashapon machines aren't as widespread as Gundam models are in many parts of the world, gashapons have been a core part of Gundam and SD Gundam culture, and you'll want to bring this little guy home to decorate your home with some fun, geeky flair!

great review, help a lot.
I was searching for something like this to put in my anime store, so people can have the "gashapon experience"
Thanks so much. Your review is so useful. I've just ordered it a few days ago and was looking for the size of a display card. I didn't expect to see the template review and the better thing was you even attached the link in the description!
You're very welcome:) Not a lot of extensive reviews of this neat little machine around. Hope you're able to make the display card you have in mind!
I just ordered one the other day and I'm still waiting for it to arrive at my doorstep. One of the things I'm worried about is the turning handle. I've made a Gashapon out of cardboard box before and tested it 100+ times to make sure it was sturdy before bringing it to an event. However, people broke it within 30 minutes of use, as expected. lol! But this time, I've saved enough money to actually buy one and I'm excited!! I just hope the handle doesn't break overtime. Btw, great video review! I'll inspect mine when it comes in!
From a purely aesthetic point of view, this should've been designed so that it could be wall mounted.
Awesome video! Just wondering does it work with the Nespresso Vertuo
ah nostalgia, i used to spend all my allowance on gashapon until my dad put a stop on it
Bandai's gone off the deep end nowadays with gashapon prices. They used to be nice impulse buys that made the randomness real fun
Game Stop stores seem to have them now. There is also a store near me called Gundam From Japan that has 8 of them. They charge about $6.00 a spin vs Game Stops $2.50 though. Haven't been in a while so maybe I should check and see if they have new stuff in them 🤔
Do the bigger machines stack in the same way as this plus model?
What are the differences between the old and new one? Thanks!
how big are the capsules for this device, i just bought one but i would like some extra capsules and im not sure where to get them and what size, same goes for the coins...
I ordered a machine...but can you tell me where I can get good gashapon toys for it? Im in USA
That's a cool $2 coin!
It's like only it showed up to work drunk
Great review that really highlighted the thing I was most interested in: the turning mechanism. How many capsules maximum can it hold, do you think?
Thank you so much:) Didn't think so many people would keep finding this video.
For the capsules, beyond the ones you get in the box, you can add maybe 3-4 more but not a lot before the pile reaches the hole
Where can I buy extra eggs? Do you think 3D printed coins will work?
Game Stops in America have started having Gashapon machines but they never have gundam stuff in them
Hi there! Would you say the quarter or nickle worked better (in terms of not potentially getting stuck or marking the machine)? I ordered one to be sent to America.
Thank god you review it. Iwas planning to buy it for my gashapon toy. But because it cant fit the bigger modern gashapon balls, i ended up not buying it.
Glad it helped:) It's very strange Bandai didn't alter the new one to work with big capsules
Are you going to review that old diorama? That stuf are really intresting to learn about since its so old.
I will actually, that footage was taken from the pool of shots for its review:) It's kinda further down the pipeline though
Never knew you were from Hong Kong also awesome $2 coin i need to get one for my money from around the world collection i have nearly a coin or bill from every country and every coins made for use in ww2 buy both sides and a bunch of other coins including a antique coin from the 50s that was made a few days after the launch of the explorer i bought it from a space museum they had 4 coins 2 American launches and 2 soviet ones
Yep, being in Hong Kong gives me access to all kinds of weird finds
I think other than our oddball $2, British coins are also kind of weird with the flat sides... runs in the family I guess
@@HobbyClubhouse i still Need to get one and an Australian paper bill apparently they made their money indestructible its fire proof rip proof water proof and nature proof
I just ordered one for conventions
I'm also wondering this
What size is the clear capsule @ 5:15 ? I want to know what size capsules NOT to buy lol (trying to inch out the largest size capsules I can fit in this machine)
Also thanks for the review, my machine just came in today and I absolutely love it~
Didn't realize I posted the wrong response to your comment before😂
I don't happen to have one at hand anymore, though if it helps, the default ones that work have a 4.9cm diameter and 15.2 cm circumference:)
Now i wanna go through a bunch of different coins
The thing is surprisingly picky about what coins it'll work with. That footage of me getting the penny out is 100% real and much longer:')
Hi! I wanted to ask if you tried with the normal Japanese coin you showed in the beginning? :) I figured if it could take a quarter it could take a Japanese ¥1 but I thought id double check with you to be safe! Ty!
Hm, I know for sure that the 50 yen coin in the video works and 100 yen ones work too. I don't have a 1 yen so I can't test it to say for sure
1 yen coins work
Any idea where to download custom display cards beside the one in the link?
Hm, unfortunately there aren't others besides those. Here's the one I made myself which you can open in Photoshop and add in anything else you like:

Problem is I need examples I think I would be able to do the shrinking myself but I can't find scanned examples. Looking for gundam and video game related ones. Have two of these babies on the way :)
Ah, I see what you mean. Good scans of display cards of retail items are sadly really hard to come by. But the machine is small enough that you can get away with most images you find online, I've made a few myself from modest images and they look fine in the machine:)
Found a lot on pinterest and you were right they look good even with low ress :)
Well, since they made the cup noodle kit, I am not really surprised.
And they seem to have given up on that Best Hit Chronicles series... I really loved the Sega Saturn kit
Ngl I thought these were built like model kits lols
Now that you mention it, I wonder why Bandai never made such a model kit... I'd get one for sure.
12:04 almost makes me want to throw up
