Warning;English is not my first language I live in India North East and we do have tribals celebrities, I am a big fan of one of the ladies in a music video where she sang some part I always thought she was more beautiful than the mc of the mv so I collected her pics from ig and Facebook in my phone. All my friends knew how much I liked her. One day a friend of mine called me in early morning which was unsual, long story short he saw the girl I longed to meet for and called me, which was near a cafe not far from my apartment, I was nervous the whole way and was thinking what I would say to her when I reached there my confidence flew away as I could barely look her from afar shaking, long story short I went to her and ask her for a pic (she was disguised and was not wearing makeup) but I knew it was her, she suddenly said she was sick and annoyed of ppl like me and told me to get lost.. I was so sad that day bec she wasn't what she looked like
@Dean Morrow my friend met him at Dave Bryans wedding and said he is a really nice guy. Although trump is surrounded by assholes, I doubt he is one. Maybe when he was young.
I picked up *Roger Moore* in my taxi once. Because it was night, and he sat in the back, I didn't realize who he was. I was starting to become a professional singer, and we spent the whole half hour journey talking about ME and my dreams. He never once appeared to care that I had not recognized him. He gave me ideas advice and encouragement that actually led to me working as a singer for a decade. When he got out of the car, I turned around and switched on the interior light. He paid me £20 for a £14 trip, and as he got out, he said: "Well, good luck with the gigs." And he rolled his eyes as he smiled in that Roger Moore way, and my jaw dropped as I realized who he was. He was one of the nicest, most caring people I've ever met.
I met Willy Nelson and he was the most down to earth person I've ever met. When he talks, he looks at you and he is soft spoken. I remember Willy Nelson had a wonderful laugh. Very sweet man.
So good to hear. Heard the same about S.Epatha Merkerson. NYC commenter on YT made mention of stopping and greeting her on the street in New York City. Described her as friendly and gracious. As a “Law and Order” fan I appreciate her a lot more after seeing that comment.
My niece saw David Bowie in South Africa at a nightclub. He was with his wife & friends. She waited for an appropriate moment & told him how wonderful he was. He signed an autograph for her & shook her hand. David Bowie was very gracious to everyone. He didn't like to be approached when he was with his young daughter.
I met Johnny Depp a few years ago delivering the mail and he was super nice and very funny. He asked me a ton of questions about being a letter carrier. 🤣
I met David Bowie one time at Point Reyes National Seashore. We were both hiking. I had just come off a trail that was overgrown with stinging nettles and I had been stung by them pretty badly. He came up to me and asked me if I was all right and then talked to me for a while. I asked him if he was the man who fell to earth, he got a kick out of that, that anybody would remember that film.
When Emmy, Golden Globe, and Oscar-winner Cloris Leachman was appearing on stage in Vancouver BC, she stopped at a local restaurant to have dinner before the show. A little girl recognized her and ran over to speak with her. Instead of acting annoyed or brushing her off, Leachman took time from her meal to chat with the little girl, and was very kind to her. Too many "celebrities" think they're gods.
I saw Clorox Leachman in Manhattan in the 70’s as she was getting out of a Limo! She was all smiles, saying hello to everyone on the street! What a beautiful sweet, gracious lady!
I would NEVER approach someone while they’re eating. That’s a huge no no. Kudos to this celebrity (sorry I’ve not heard of her) for recognizing this is a little kid and giving her a pass….and a positive memorable experience
Ellen belongs at #1 on this list. I know lots of people in "the business" and they ALL say she's always rude and unpleasant--and has been that way since she was a standup. If a person is deeply unhappy with themselves, all the fame and money in the world isn't going to fix that.
I have nothing against the LGBTQIA+ and actually have met some wonderful people. I however, do think that she took advantage of her status to use it as a green card to get her way. She tried to come off as this wonderful person, that is until her staff and guest started showing her true colors. I'm honestly amazed that she still has a show and that some people still watch it and still fall for her fake personality.
On the flip side of this coin is Jay Leno. He agreed to ask my wife to marry me on my behalf backstage at Caesar's Palace before his show. Nicest, most genuine, down to earth guy you could imagine. She said yes and we're still together 30 years later.
I've heard he gave up thousands of dollars to make sure that the people in his staff were not fired and made sure they would get paid during the pandemic. I thought I was so touched I cried to realized someone like Jay Leno truly cares for his staff. Not like Ellen Degeneres that didn't tell her staff when her show wasn't going to be shut down due to the pandemic. With all her millions she can't help her staff?
@@angelacarleton9575 Some people love to talk about how others should be treated, but, when it comes to their spending their money to make sure that happens, the honest people get separated from the liars really fast.
Great story! Leno does seem very nice. I think he’s grounded because he didn’t grow up with privilege. One story he told was that his father returned to the store a cracked toilet seat they’d had for 20 years. It had a lifetime warranty and his dad had kept the receipt! 🤣
A person I know well who lives in La. could only say good things about Sandra Bullock. Once Sandra was behind him in a grocery store line. He decided not to speak to her. But it was Sandra who started a conversation with him. He said he was impressed at how down to earth she was. If we are honest sometimes we can all have bad days. On another note, I met up with Susan Sarandon and began a conversation. She was very congenial.
A coworker of mine knew Sandra Bullocks uncle who owned a convenient store in Marietta Ga. He told the uncle he’d like to meet Sandra and Sandra said she only had a minute because of her schedule. She was just dropping by to say hello to her uncle but she agreed to just say hello to my friend and he went up to her car and she smiled and said hello. My friend said she was a very nice lady.
Exactly but let these folks in the comments and even the narrator of the video, keep acting self righteous. Celebs aren’t robots and won’t always be in a good mood.
You left out Jennifer Lopez. We ran into her in LA once. She was the rudest, most snotty. filled with self importance person that I've ever met. Several people there remarked that she was well known for that!
I disagree. Saw her in parking lot, Hollywood bowl. In a big black car, driven by a guy. She took the time to let fans take photos of her. Seemed nice.
@@Hydrographer1 Of course she did , they were taking photos of her 🥹too much ego for me ,if she didn’t show her backside shaking all the time what would she be known for !! Too much importance is given to celebrities .
That's true. What I especially like about her is that she promotes literacy for children. My young niece was able to participate in the free books from Dolly's literally program until the county we live in could not participate anymore because it was run through the United Way
@@michaelsmith4118 I wouldn't know. I'm just saying actresses can pretend to be whoever they want to be. I thought Natalie Portman was nice. Now I'm thinking, not so much. They're self-centered and egotistical.
I met Debbie Reynolds when she was performing at the Casino Magic, Bay St.Louis,MS.,pre-Katrina. She was super sweet. She spent time with talking with the fans and signing autographs. Great show. Also got to meet Gladys Knight, another great lady. Very generous to her fans.
Yes - actors/actresses/singers of generations before the assholes of now really know/knew how to treat fans. they don't trash them/ignore them/berate them for interrupting their lives - they just knew to make a persons day by politely talking with them/interacting with them - make them feel important as they make them(star) by taking the time to ask for an autograph & thank them. Todays movie stars are just a bunch of arrogant self-indulged pricks. Men & women.
@@mlk27743 Peter Capaldi said it best: "Just show up and don't be horrible. You be surprised how much people like it." One of the class acts, right there. They aren't all prima donna dickheads.
@@mlk27743 oh my god, that is so well said!👍 let’s not compare an experience as fan between real stars like Debbie Reynolds or Tony Bennett with an “experience “ with the no charisma trash of today’s so called stars.
My youngest daughter was born 100 percent hearing I'mpairef.. She had therapy 5 days a week.. She adored Ponch + Eric Estrada ..After six years she bagan to hear. Eric Estrada called her on the phone , sent her a card , and pictures.. I never forgot that.

I met Orson Welles as a teenager, during a trip with my folks to Los Angeles. I shyly asked him, "Will you give me an autograph?" and he replied, "Maybe. Will you give me some peanut butter?"
I met him in a ice cream parlor one time when he was traveling across the country in his motorhome with his son. He was very kind and was laughing all the time telling us jokes while in line.
Agree. I spoke to Jacqueline bissett, at lax. She was 56 or so. I was 48. We were both sending off a 12 year old, male, my son, and her common law son. He to Middle East, relatives, my son, to Germany, relatives. We spoke for 45 minutes. On life, kids. Etc. very nice woman. Virgo, like me. She was in the deep. Great movie. And played Jacqueline Kennedy, in the Greek tycoon. Many others. British.
Johnny Depp as visit children In hospitals dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow and stayed for hours so he can meet everyone and take pictures. I doubt someone could be that mean and also have that much patience and kindness in her heart.
I totally agree, what I have heard he would give you the shirt off his back. When he was filming in Brisbane (Raby Bay) he was nothing but kind and friendly to the cast and crew, even after AH cut off tip of his finger.
@@therandomarchive2183 I was wondering the same thing. Rather than answer you, or edit a typo, this coward changes his/her screen name, in this case to ''gambit". There are people besides FACTS VERSE whose IQ contains only a single digit.
Famous Tommy Lee Jones joke: a flight attendant keeps looking at him and he snaps at her asking “what the hell are you looking at”? She replies back to him and says “I’m sorry, I thought you were Clint Eastwood”. 😀
Growing up in Burbank in the 50s and 60s, you live with, go to school with and work with celebrities. My favorite was James Garner. A totally down to earth decent human being who fought for civil rights before it was a thing.
My Dad met James Garner while James was on a USO tour in Vietnam. My Dad was leaving Westmoreland’s HQ in Saigon, and who does he see on the street leaning up against a jeep having a smoke but Bret Maverick himself. Said he was down to earth, friendly and easy going, and a gentleman all the way. A few years earlier stateside in DC, Dad was at a jazz club and and the guy next to him at the bar commented how good the drummer was and they talked jazz over (more) drinks for about an hour. It was Jack Lemmon. He didn’t act like a movie star, just another jazz fan soaking up the scene. They don’t make movie stars like that anymore. As for me, I saw Alec Baldwin & Kim Basinger get out of a cab right in front of me in NYC. I didn’t approach them, which was the smart play in retrospect. He wasn’t famous for his bad temper and total arrogance yet. Or manslaughter.
When I was a kid, one of our neighbors had a one year old son who was going to have to undergo open heart surgery. She was very frightened. One of her idols was Bobby Darin, who had open heart surgery as an adult. She sent him a fan letter about her fears. He called her a couple weeks later and spoke to her for an hour. She said he was very soft-spoken and gracious and that he really soothed her. Bobby Darin died a couple of years later.
Oh I love Bobby Darin and his songs. Especially "Dream Lover", I thought he and Sandra Dee were precious together. I always wished that they would stay married. God rest his soul Bobby Darin, he's gone too soon
This is why i Loved Ricky Gervais doing the Golden Globes, bringing the Egos down a step or two. Problem is it looked like half of them didnt even realise what was happening, their heads are so firmly wedged into their own arses
I completely disagree about Johnny Depp. That man visits children in hospitals and stays till every one gets a picture. Bought coats for the hole crew out of his pocket because Disney would not and the list goes on.
I actually did meet Tommy Lee Jones in Soldotna Alaska, he was on a fishing trip with his son and friends as a Birthday present to him. He was eating in the hotel restaurant and we talked for about 40 mins. He was one of the nicest down to earth person I had a pleasure to meet. He smiled alot and was giggling at some of my smart comments. Clint Eastwood is also a good person to hold a conversation with.
Tommy Lee Jones was actually a really nice guy- I met him when I was an extra in the movie House of Cards in North Carolina. I sat right next to him & talked for quite a while and even got his autograph / he was a down-to-earth person
Jane -- That's so good to hear! :-) I like the man (as much of him that I 'know' through Hollywood) and I normally love his acting and the characters he plays. It was a real shock to see his name here! :-O Thanks for 'filling us in' with your personal experience. :-)
Back in 2018, I made a collage for Johnny Depp in response to false allegations with a note asking him very politely to autograph it, and about more than a couple of weeks later, I received my project back in the mail signed by him, along with a signed picture. He's actually such a sweet guy!
We're happy you got the chance to meet Betty White and to know that she's nice personally. Thank you for sharing your life experience. What other types of videos would you like to see?
A good friend of mine worked as a muck man in the stables in Fairfield CT as a young man. Paul Newman owned horses there and actually helped Dave clean the stable on at least one occasion. Paul was one hell of a man and a human being. He is sorely missed.
I had Paul get me parts for my Volvo at the service counter. This was around 1987 in Milford Connecticut. I was shocked. Turned out he was part owner of the dealership.
@@emusaurus Who are you asking about? Paul Newman? If so, he has a line of good products like salad dressing etc. My understanding is that the proceeds go to charity. Paul died years ago.
I live in Norwalk, Ct and I went to the show house that Pauls' wife Joann Woodward was involved in. The first thing that came to mind was his piercing Blue eyes. It was only a few months later that he died but, he still looked terrific. He was such a beautiful man and was always so sweet and adorable. God rest his beautiful soul
I met Peter Falk when I was a kid ; he was quiet but super nice . For a guy hanging out with a bunch of noisy kids he was extremely patient . I'm glad he wasn't a jerk because it might have scarred me for life .
Screw the negativity, who was the most humble and wonderful celebrity I've met? In Florida at Treasure Island I met Tony Bennett. He was stopped at a red light and his chauffeur allowed me to approach him and tell him how great I thought his singing was. He shook my hand off, called me kid, and gave me tickets to his show he was playing a few days later in Clearwater. He stayed stopped at the traffic light for 5 minutes talking to me. I was thrilled. I even teased him about his ridiculous tan he got in Florida. He was nearly red. LOL He loved that I poked fun at him. I'm Canadian and was on holidays, but I did go to the show I had tickets for and I took my grandparents with me. That show he saw me in the crowd, and acknowledged my presence and thanked me for coming. He's a class act from what I've seen. Glass half full gang. Always look for the positive side of life.
There's something about that era. I met Rex Harrison, Rosie Clooney, Martha Ray, Bob McGrath, Vic Damone, James Earl Jones, Jean Stapleton, Claudette Colbert, Johnny Mathias, Sandy Duncan, George Rose (and his dogs), James Whitmore and Sada Thompson and some others. They were at the very least human and humble. Most of them would not only give autographs but would chit chat for a few minutes.
I once met a guy in California who had a very high end salon. I asked him who his least favorite client was, and he said Ellen. He said she was just a really mean and nasty person. This was a few years before her talk show.
@Donna Martens; I gotta story about that. Johnny was a long time neighbor to my brothers parents in law. As the parents became elderly and the Dad eventually passed away the house and yard never suffered. As a matter of fact neither did the bills. When Mom finally died and the estate was settled it’s only then that the kidz learned it was Johnny taking care of his long time neighbors.
I lived in Fort Bragg Ca when the movie "Overboard" wad filmed... Its my 6th grade classroom and my Middle School in the film. I got to meet Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell... Nice, funny, down to Earth people. Super cool people.
Goldie Hawn seems sweet. I think she's one of those individuals who makes an effort to be polite to people judging from her interviews and the things she says.
Met them both when they took their boys hockey team to a tournament in Canada. You'd never know they were Hollywood elite...they were so nice..just hockey parents like everyone else there..👍😁
I met Ben stiller at a party and he abused the catering waitress till she cried for bringing him the wrong drink. He went on and on like a spoilt child. Everyone watched and he didn't give a crap.
Thru my nephew (very people friendly) who worked at a hotel I got to meet Mick Jagger. He was on the second floor balcony. My nephew said " Hey Mick come on down" which he did and we talked several minutes, later we saw him going to his limo to his concert and again we talked for several minutes and we wished him well at his concert in Tampa. He seemed very down to earth and was very nice.
On the flip side, and I have met a handful of famous people. Dan Aykroyd was one of the nicest people I have met. Got his autograph, and he made a point to have a 2 minute conversation with every single person. Even though the event didn't appreciate it, he refused to stop doing it.
I know Laura Branigan's last manager personally, and she says Laura used to make her handlers crazy doing that :-) Anyone who wanted an autograph from her got one. There are some great ones out there, and there are some prima dona dickheads, just like any group of people or profession.
That was sweet of him. I saw a lot of his movies and would love to meet him at a comic con. I've met Robert Englund and Heather Langenkamp from "Nightmare on Elm Street" at a comic con. Michael J. Fox tried to attend but sadly his doctor refused to sign a medical release. It was very sad to hear this as I sometimes wonder how bad Parkinson's Disease is affecting him so it must be bad enough that he can't always get on a plane...
And Denzel Washington...never a bad word...ever! The man is amazing...on set, off set, personal life....all around...which makes his movies a must see....imho...
One of my friends is an instructor at a very well-known trade school for car & truck mechanics just a mile or two west of Phoenix. He was in his class room, doing paperwork between classes, when he looked up to find Nicholas Cage standing in front of his desk! He extended a hand & said, "Hi, I'm Nicholas". My friend laughs about it to this day, because the first thing he blurted out was, "I think your movies are great!" Turned out that Nicholas' nephew was taking an associates' in automotive technology at the school and being a gear-head himself, Nicholas asked for a tour. He was an extremely personable, likeable man. He later donated one of his cars, a Ford GT-40, to the school.
Sorry to say but back in the late 70s I went to see with my fiance Frank Sinatra and he became belligerent because people were asking him to sing some of their favorite songs. Plus his voice wasn't so great. Talk about disappointing.
I will say one lady that stands out was "Natalie Cole" she was late coming out to the show because she was nauseous due to being pregnant and apologized to the entire audience. I loved her as much as her dad, "Nat King Cole."
It says in the Bible end times people will become lovers of themselves also has to do with that day and age people were taught manners and they were grateful when people aren't it's very difficult for them to be empathetic and considerate
Many years ago when I was young I met Agnes Moorehead. A more gracious lady would be hard to find. Also when I was young I went to a play starring Geraldine Page. As she left the theatre she stopped to speak to her fans as if they were old friends. Not all celebs are jerks.
A friend of mine who lived in L.A. during the 80s told me he ran into David White (played Larry Tate in Bewitched) in public and he turned out to be a nice guy.
I saw when she finally won her over-due "Oscar" how the young people in her group of the acting class cheered on and it was a pleasure to see how enthusiastic they were for Geraldine Page. It did my heart good because she is an outstanding actress in theater and movies.
The late actor Raul Julia was a major participant in The Hunger Project, a global end-hunger nonprofit. I was a staffer there, and the org once held a large conference in the Oakland Hills. I was backstage producing instantaneous audiotape copies of the speeches. Mr Julia came into the room; he enthusiastically thanked all of us for our work. I happened to be near him, and with great warmth and joy the man hugged me, picking me up and twirling around. It was a beautiful moment - we all were so sad to learn that all the while, he was suffering from cancer which took his life several months later.

I was working in a store in Chinatown in 1967 and Cary Grant came in with his wife Barbara. He was a very nice gentleman just like in the movie. I also met John Wayne in Newport Beach and he was just a normal good ole boy.
Wow you met some legends! I can't even imagine meeting them in person and i have met lots of clelbs i worked for a couple defrent movie studios and met some others randomly
Saw John Wayne walk into a diner in Banning, CA (in costume) to have breakfast. He was mobbed for autographs, which he graciously gave, while his eggs got cold. After the crowd dispersed the owner sent out a fresh plate. Stars like John Wayne and Cary Grant never forgot where they came from or the fans who put them on top.
Paul McCartney doesn't give autographs, or do selfies either. What he prefers to do is have a chat with his fans. That's what I have heard, and it's understandable.
My mother got his autograph many years ago. It was on a plane and my mom said that he was very gracious and gave autographs to everyone on the plane. This was around 40 years ago.
Supposedly, thats not the real Paul McCartney, the real one died in 1966, and they replaced him with the winner of a Paul McCartney look-alike contest. Ringo has insisted for years that it is the truth and that the Paul McCartney we know is an imposter. They should just do a DNA test with one of the siblings or cousins of the pre-1966 Paul, that would prove it one way or another and put this rumor to rest once and for all.
I met Charlie Sheen many years ago in a night club in Hollywood. We were both waiting outside a women's restroom for our girlfriends. I mentioned that my girlfriend had my phone and I needed to call a cab. Charlie said that he would be happy to call a cab for us, and he did. Very friendly.
A friend of mine worked a rather high profile position on the Ellen D show for years. Well before more recent allegations came out about her behavior he described her as "a terrible human being." Looks like he was RIGHT.

Good one, Dark. You, of course, know the phrases, “Talk is cheap.” Or “Do as I say, not as I do.” There are no doubt a lot of phonies out there in show biz.. Cheers to you…JT
My ex was about to film an interview with Toby McGuire on a red carpet at Canne years ago. Something went wrong with the camera, and it jammed, but instead of walking off to another journalist who were all shouting him name, he silently and politely waited until he fixed the problem and continued the interview. That showed professionalism and good character.
Everyone-even a celebrity-is entitled to a bad day or even a few. And sometimes, fans can be demanding, unreasonable, or even rude. When there is an established pattern, that’s a completely different story.
Of course they are no one is perfect and fans can be pricks too it's not always celebs being pricks and I understand both sides but for the most part celebs want to have that lifestyle and be famous for acting music etc so they know what comes with being famous so they are going to get fans that love them and are going to ask for pics etc now some fans do go above just being rude and try to follow and harass these famous people but for the most part there normal fans and when you choose to be a famous actor etc then you have to accept what comes with it so if cannot deal with taking pics and signing autographs? etc then you shouldn't be a celeb and pick a job that doesn't involve everyone knowing you and loving your work like Kevin Smith telling how Bruce Willis story how they went to lunch and were walking and a car passes and says something like we love you John McClane and Kevin said that Bruce turned and said something like I hate those mother fuckers the most and even Kevin said he felt like Bruce was a dick head for that and never worked with him sense and I agree with him Bruce has been known to be a real dick head and like I said of you don't want to be loved for the acting music etc you do then don't do it don't be a actor anymore if people liking you and your talent at acting is something that gets you mad because Everyone knows what being famous comes with So you cannot have your cake and eat it too
Jennifer Lopez should be on the list. I know someone who used to decorate trailers for celebs, and there are a few he would never work with again INCLUDING her. If you are a part of the staff with her at any event, and you look at J-Lo with any eye contact, and you are not already famous, she will make sure you are fired. She was once on a plane and when the flight attendant asked if she wanted snacks, Lopez refused to talk to her, or even acknowledge she existed. Instead she had to talk with Lopez's assistant on the same flight.
I agree with the first part but the last part sounds entitled. It makes people believe that they’re entitled to knowing everything about celebritie’s personal lives.
@S D Reporters owe people honest news. Madcow failed to provide honest news. All she offered was what she wanted others to believe. She was obnoxious and unlikable.
My Hubby was the course superintendent for a golf course that had 15 PGA tournaments. One year (in the 80s) we had 2 celebrity charity rounds. First day was Jerry Lewis. Oh my, what an absolute jerk. Terribly demanding and terribly rude to everyone. Only stuck around for a few holes. The next day was Bob Hope and he was a breath of fresh air. Very nice and not demanding at all. Played most if not all the round.
Jerry Lewis was mean to his sons. Both during their childhoods all the way til he died. I met him once at a casual but popular bar in Dallas. It appeared he thought he was going to make a bigger splash than he did. If you didn't show enough enthusiasm to please his ego, he was happy to let you know how unsophisticated and uninformed you were. And he was very, very good at it. I can't explain it. Made his server explain what every single item on the menu was. I can see why an easygoing man like Dean Martin wouldn't want to hang around him.
I don't have a good opinion of Jerry Lewis who abused his entire family. When one of his sons who was a lawyer decided to defend his mother because he was going to kick her out of her home - Jerry Lewis disowned that son and many others. He was a tyrant and what is upsetting he left them nothing not even for their grandchildren. I can't believe this was the man that did all those Muscular Telethons for years and what a cruel jerk he was.
I used to be a huge fan of Jerry Lewis (for his Muscular Dystrophy telethons and the Martin-Lewis comedy team), so much so that my mom got me front row tickets to see him in person in Daytona Beach for my Birthday one year. Lewis didn't like the way the stage was set up when he arrived so he walked out and the show was canceled 2 hours before showtime. No money was returned to the ticket holders, as I recall. I never respected him after that. Too bad, because the M.D. fundraiser was a valid cause.
I meet Robert Devall at a Southern States in Virginia in 2008, he was viewing a blue colored mule for a movie he was filming near by. The movie was called Get Low. He was polite, considerate and a rascal. I was impressed with him, he's as genuine in person as he is in his films. The best in my opinion..
I worked for him as his gardener at his place in Philomont, VA back when he was filming Lonesome Dove. He was lovely and asked to be called Bobby. He would attend the local fair in the area and mingled with the local volunteer firefighters, showing he really was part of the community. He has since moved to another nearby VA town and still loves the atmosphere of rural Virginia.
Ellen D always got a kick out of scaring the hell out of guests on her show. Something about her I have never liked. Just a gut feeling. Glad I went with my gut.
Well, I never met a rude celebrity, but I did meet Phil Collins once in Beverly Hills while attending a car show. I had just intended to say Hi, then leave, but he engaged me in conversation and when I asked how he like working with Disney (on Tarzan and Brother Bear) he talked for about 10 mins about that and was super friendly. I imagine he was also a little bored, because his wife was shopping and he was waiting outside the store for her with son Nick in a stroller :D
I used to love all his movies, but I cannot stand him anymore. He is a washed up has been whose career is over. I think the majority of these actors and actresses could take some lessons from Al Pacino, Billy Crystal and Robin Williams.
I would like to defend Tommy Lee Jones. I was at a restaurant in Fort Worth with a group of friends. One of my buddies recognized him and approached for an autograph. Not the best thing to do while someone is dining, but Mr. Jones was respectful, kind, and obliging. I became a big TLJ fan that day.
Worked at an FBO and met a lot of celebrities over the years. Tommy Lee Jones was very nice to me. If you treat them with respect most of the times they will reciprocate. However, some people are just plain miserable. A few jerks were Jerry Seinfeld, Rosie O'Donnell, Al Franken, Miley Cyrus, Tim McGraw and one of the biggest one of them all, Ted Turner. Thankfully I've met way more that were really nice
I met Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez together promoting their movie when I was working in TV. Emilio was REALLY cool and easy to talk to. I think I talked to him more. He was just another guy and his dad, Martin Sheen, whom I had seen forever on TV was just as nice, too. In fact, I told Martin Sheen , "It's a real pleasure to meet you Mr. Sheen." He said, "Call me Martin." Very warm guy. No, Charlie wasn't there and he was not discussed, but he WAS something of an elephant in the room (he had gotten some bad publicity at the time). Nevertheless, I liked Martin and Emilio. Neat guys.
I’ve met several celebrities over the years. The most kind, genuine and human was Robert Plant. The nastiest was Art Garfunkel. I haven’t met her personally but I’ve heard from several different people that Oprah is a monster.
Sometimes it's just a bad or good day. I met Art Garfunkel at an event and he was very gracious. We talked for about 20 minutes about art, literature and pets. Met Paul Simon and Edie Brickell too. PS was annoyed but Edie was fun and engaging. I worked for many years as a designer in Palm Springs and dealt with many celebs. Most are just ordinary boring people. Some are massive A-holes
Ellen should be number 1. She started out being so nice on her show then they really found out about her. Also she thinks she can dance but really really.
All the things I have heard about Ellen, she a different person when she on camera, I used to watch her, now I can't to me she comes across as a phony.
One of the nicest celebrities I had the pleasure of meeting , was Alice from the Brady Bunch. I saw her in a hospital in Colorado several years back. She was there with her aunt. In the short time we talked, she found an opportunity to offer me a small compliment. 😊
Willard Scott. What an absolute gentleman. I worked at a upscale hotel in Alaska and had the pleasure of meeting him...and he seemed more interested in me than I was of him. We talked of me raising my sons in such a wonderful state. And I explained how the beauty of Alaska never escapes me. He seemed to cling on to my every word. On th the other side of the spectrum was Steven Segal. He was up here shooting a movie that eventually flopped. I greeted him "Good morning" and he wouldn't even make eye contact with me...a**hole.
I am a retired actor. (Not famous, just made a living.) I remember once when I was doing a stage play a lady came to the dressing room door to see me and told me her husband wanted to beat me up. (I was playing a mean guy.) I was delighted. It meant that I had done a convincing job. My point is that many of these actors who play people we like may not be like the characters that they play. So why do we think we know what they are like? They may be jerks in their personal lives. Never-the-less I don't take into account what I hear about an actor when I decide to go to a movie with them in it any more than I ask what the clerk in the 7-11 is like before I buy something there. But I don't idolize actors either. I've known some real jerks who were really talented. Enjoy the show and don't glamorize them.
Most people realize that they see them on talk shows and tmz or whatever but even then you don't know how they really are but some are jerks even when they know the are being recorded haha
Susan Lucci said she seen a lady on the street that said she hated her and scolded her about the role she played as Erika Kane confusing it for real life
@@magiccheeseball Yep. And the truth is that I don't really care what they are like. I'm not making friends. I'm watching a movie or a play and want good acting. But I do think that the average actor is underpaid and the top actors are grossly overpaid. Which wouldn't keep me from taking it if the chance had presented itself.
I saw Tony Hawk at a local skating/bicycle event about six years ago, and he was so nice and gracious. He was a judge for a competition going on at the event. Despite many requests to join in, he declined in order to let the younger athletes shine. I was guarding a backstage area away from the public. Tony made his way to the location and politely asked if it would be okay to show his son the competition area for bikes. Of course I said yes. Tony Hawk remains humble inspite of all the fame and fortune.
I once bumped into Jack Lemmon at Vicente Foods grocery in Brentwood. Literally bumped into him, as in with my shopping cart. He was so nice, so gracious, almost made me feel like it was his fault. Made me love him even more. Also had a great time at a Keith Richards concert in Hollywood on my 30th birthday. I was sick as a dog with the flu on that cold, rainy night. Told the backstage door bouncer about having the flu and that it was a special birthday gift just to be at that concert. Just idle chitchat with a nice working guy during intermission, I didn't ask for a thing. Next thing I know, the bouncer hands me an autographed CD with the sentiment, "Feel better soon. Hope this helps. Love, Keith." My favorite keepsake of all time, from my favorite rock & roller. A true gentleman!
@Biggus Dickus I understand that, but what I said also makes sense as well. Directors and actors work with assholes only once, or maybe twice or more if there is a contract.
I worked for Tommy Lee Jones for several years by his side, although I can admit he really disliked Jim Carrey (who is a true PSYCHOPATH) In 7 years he was NEVER nothing but extremely nice and we never had an unkind word... I will defend him to my death! Not at all a bad guy!
@Collin Reese Jones . Yeah......there's an entertainment critic/interviewer here in Milwaukee who's just the NICEST, most genuine human being, whom most celebs he meets absolutely LOVE, but his one meeting with Mr. Jones was the EXACT opposite as he (Tommy Lee Jones) was brusque, obstinate, and combatively short with Gino (Salomone), who was doing nothing more than just trying to do his job. He talks OFTEN about how MEMORABLY rude T.L.J. was with him on that day, and I believe him, since dealing with celebrities is his job, and that normally it would NOT serve him well to single out a single celeb for their bad behavior.....but he makes absolutely NO bones about how badly he was treated by Tommy Lee on that particular day! Any explanations how it could be possible for this guy to be SUCH a jerk with this man (and MANY others that I've read about ALL OVER the place), and SO kind with you? Can't simply be a "bad day" with SO many reports of him being a jerk on SO many other occasions, can it ?? Is it at all possible there may be some 'bi-polar' issues going on with him? Just curious to hear what you think.... .
@@sdne1959 I think being famous and having dozen (or hundreds) of strangers hunger for your attention every single day could bring out the jerk in a saint. Yes, they've chosen this life, but it must be painful.
One of the nicest people I ever met is MIchael York. A British actor in things like the original 3 Musketeers. He was at the ABA with his wife who had written a book. I was at their booth when he backed up into me and stepped on my foot! He was so nice, took over to the little sofa they had and even rubbed my foot while we chated for about 15 minutes! I was stunned. I had a crush on him for years and never ever thought I would met him as I live in the US.
I met Terrance Howard several years ago and told him as a veteran how much I admired his work in Red Tails. He seemed genuinely surprised, looked me in the eye, shook my hand and thanked me. I wasn’t fawning and spoke to him like a man.
I had lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel in summer 1991 and saw Warren Beatty at the next table with his friends and walked up to shake his hands and tell him I was a big admirer of his work. He got up and thanked me. He was so tall, slim, handsome and gracious.
Johnny Depp!? Are you serious!? He takes his Jack Sparrow costume with him everywhere in case he feels like visiting sick kids in the hospital He paid out of his own pocket to get everyone on the POTC set raincoats
@@bellaknightR597 I know people who have bad days and they don't yell and scream and threaten and despise. They simply disagree or withdraw. Your excuses for this idiot are pathetic.
I was a waitress in a Salt Lake City, Utah restaurant and served Donny Osmond and this wife. After I took their order he spoke to me asthough I was dismissed. I served their food and went back to check on them and he acted like I was bothering them and ask for the check. Threw money in the tray and left. I have never been an osmond fan "at all" and wasn't excited they sat in my section. He made me feel beneath them
What a jerk! I honestly don't know what Andy Williams " who discovered " The Osmonds saw in them. Especially, Donnys' voice, it's absolutely disgusting and I can't stand to hear him sing
I met and talked to Charlie Pride at a matinee show in Round Rock Texas in 1968. We talked about 20 minutes while sitting on one of the picnic benches they had around the dance floor. He was very friendly and just a regular guy. I will never forget it. He was also a great talent. Most celebrities forget how they got to their status.
Charlie Pride, fun guy!!! Patient! This happened in Nashville (front of his house). He doing yard work. Lady pulls up and asks HIM to come over and do her LAWN! He says “ Well, I will check with my Manager... I get 75,000.00 an event (show)! Get back to me so he can BOOK the yard work. “. He walks off SMILING. “Good Day Ma’am”...
I had the displeasure of dealing with Faye Dunaway. I tell people she never had to act in Mommy Dearest. She treated my staff like dirt to the point they refuse to interact with her. For 3 days I was the one she called.
These "actors" start out starving and begging for work then when they get fame and fortune they behave like spoiled brats treating people like dirt. They will one day get in touch with reality and fall from grace if they can take it. These people are unbelievable, they dearly need a attitude adjustment.
An acquaintance told me she was on a domestic flight with Jimmy Carter after he’d left office. She said he walked down the aisle and shook hands with everyone, saying to her, “I just think people should know who their President was.”

@@lonelypigeon7562 I spoke to the late Joel Siegel three times, first time I was a 16-year-old kid. He seemed really nice, I guess he must be the exception.
I met Heather Graham at a somewhat private event related to filmmaking. I briefly spoke to her for less than a minute, because someone was next to her and he subtly hurried her along (which was kind of rude, he didn’t excuse them). But she was really sweet and friendly.
Oprah. A nurse that I worked with (who was a huge fan of Oprah) went to her show. My co-worker is a large woman, and they made her sit in the front row so Oprah would look slim compared to her. Also, it disgusted me when Oprah would ask her viewers to donate money for a cause she believed in. I' sure not all of her viewers could afford to donate. She's a billionaire yet she's asking her viewers for money! She should have paid for it herself!
Asking is just that - asking. Anyone who can’t afford to donate doesn’t have to donate. As Maya Angelou said: “We can do more together than by ourselves”.
@@SciTrekMan exactly. Asking people to donate is just that...asking. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, in fact it makes me have more respect for her that she has a cause she supports and believes in. I'm sure she donates thousands, if not millions, to charity every year. Whether you love her or hate her she really is a philanthropic person.
I remember my history of film teacher telling us about the Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini. He came to hate the upper class life after going to places that other rich people went to. He initially thought that the upper class consisted of earnest, hard-working people like him, only to discover that it was mostly made up of assholes who got lucky.

About 10 years ago my brother and I had the pleasure of meeting Henry Winkler... He was doing an event and signing autographs, when we got there a line had already formed of people who wanted to meet him. He was between appearances and because of terrible weather, he got back from getting his dinner about 15 minutes late. When he walked over to us, there were about 40 or 50 people there waiting in line to see him... No lie, he walked the entire line of people, shook each of our hands and personally apologized to each of us individually for being late. When we got to the table for his autograph, he was so nice and friendly, he even got between my brother and myself and wrapped his arms around our backs so my wife could get a pic of us... I don't agree with his politics, but he's still the nicest, most polite celebrity you would ever have the pleasure of meeting.

Warning;English is not my first language
I live in India North East and we do have tribals celebrities, I am a big fan of one of the ladies in a music video where she sang some part I always thought she was more beautiful than the mc of the mv so I collected her pics from ig and Facebook in my phone. I was so sad that day bec she wasn't what she looked like
Besides you!!!
@Dean Morrow my friend met him at Dave Bryans wedding and said he is a really nice guy. Although trump is surrounded by assholes, I doubt he is one. Maybe when he was young.
I worked at a Coliseum and Barry manilow was there and he was a jerk.
And when I lived in salt lake city Utah someone told me they met John Dye and he was a real jerk.
My friends dad sat next to him on a flight to the states once said same thing really nice grounded man.
Sounds like an All time High…
Always heard good things about Moore.
Um, I'm curious how you could fail to recognize his voice?
Wow, that’s so cool!
I met Willy Nelson and he was the most down to earth person I've ever met. When he talks, he looks at you and he is soft spoken. I remember Willy Nelson had a wonderful laugh. Very sweet man.
Thanks for sharing this, Tonya!

Heard the same about S.Epatha Merkerson. NYC commenter on YT made mention of stopping and greeting her on the street in New York City. Described her as friendly and gracious. As a “Law and Order” fan I appreciate her a lot more after seeing that comment.
Going back in time a bit but never heard bad word about late Audrey hepburn
I never had the pleasure of meeting Willie Nelson, but I have never heard a negative word about him. He seems really down to earth and quite likable.
I could have seen him being a cool guy in person. 🙂

Ellen belongs at #1 on this list. I know lots of people in "the business" and they ALL say she's always rude and unpleasant--and has been that way since she was a standup.
If a person is deeply unhappy with themselves, all the fame and money in the world isn't going to fix that.
I totally agree.
Lonely place at the top when you screw them over at the bottom.
Agreed, she's the epitome of everything that's fake and wrong with Hollywood. How she rose to fame is still beyond me. Only in America I guess.
I agree, 💯 % It is sad🥺, I do hope our ex...employees now are doing well😊 I guess money does it for a lot,, An Allen show has enough of it🤑
I have nothing against the LGBTQIA+ and actually have met some wonderful people.

A person I know well who lives in La. could only say good things about Sandra Bullock. Once Sandra was behind him in a grocery store line. He decided not to speak to her. But it was Sandra who started a conversation with him. He said he was impressed at how down to earth she was. If we are honest sometimes we can all have bad days. On another note, I met up with Susan Sarandon and began a conversation. She was very congenial.

Growing up in Burbank in the 50s and 60s, you live with, go to school with and work with celebrities. My favorite was James Garner. A totally down to earth decent human being who fought for civil rights before it was a thing.
I loved this man and still do what a jewel still watch rockford files and old movies of him and he was handsome
Did you go to Burroughs High?
My parents talked a lot about Bobby Darin. He had a house somewhere in the neighborhood in north central New Jersey.

A good friend of mine worked as a muck man in the stables in Fairfield CT as a young man. Paul Newman owned horses there and actually helped Dave clean the stable on at least one occasion. Paul was one hell of a man and a human being. He is sorely missed.
His legacy lives on in the charities he set up that run to this day. Newman's Own brands. Great man.
I had Paul get me parts for my Volvo at the service counter. This was around 1987 in Milford Connecticut. I was shocked. Turned out he was part owner of the dealership.
Is that the guy who makes luncheon spreads?
@@emusaurus Who are you asking about? Paul Newman? If so, he has a line of good products like salad dressing etc. My understanding is that the proceeds go to charity. Paul died years ago.

It was only a few months later that he died but, he still looked terrific. He was such a beautiful man and was always so sweet and adorable. God rest his beautiful soul

Yeah,...... I heard he was a real class-act.
Great story!!

My friend laughs about it to this day, because the first thing he blurted out was, "I think your movies are great!"
Turned out that Nicholas' nephew was taking an associates' in automotive technology at the school and being a gear-head himself, Nicholas asked for a tour. He was an extremely personable, likeable man. He later donated one of his cars, a Ford GT-40, to the school.

Two of the NICEST celebrities I've met were Frank Sinatra and Cary Grant.
Both of them were extremely gracious and generous with their time.
Old school. More class.

It says in the Bible end times people will become lovers of themselves
also has to do with that day and age people were taught manners and they were grateful when people aren't it's very difficult for them to be empathetic and considerate
Agnes wore comfortable shoes and was very fond of tennis and walking holidays. As they say.
I think the old school celebs need to school some of the jerks who call themselves famous today on how to behave and treat fans!

He's probably inundated with "fans" who want his autograph... so they can turn around and sell it on Ebay. Why should he bother ?
Supposedly, thats not the real Paul McCartney, the real one died in 1966, and they replaced him with the winner of a Paul McCartney look-alike contest. Ringo has insisted for years that it is the truth and that the Paul McCartney we know is an imposter. They should just do a DNA test with one of the siblings or cousins of the pre-1966 Paul, that would prove it one way or another and put this rumor to rest once and for all.

Don't understand the fascination with stars. They get paid a lot of money to entertain you. You owe them nothing.

I agree with the first part but the last part sounds entitled. It makes people believe that they’re entitled to knowing everything about celebritie’s personal lives.
All they owe you is a good job as an actor. That's it.
@S D
Reporters owe people honest news. Madcow failed to provide honest news. All she offered was what she wanted others to believe.

@S D
And you are a sorry person for not expecting those who provide news or entertainment to be honest and/or entertaining.
Met Paul Newman once. Very polite and humble to others. After a compliment, he said he was lucky for success.
Jerry Lewis was a saint!!!
Jerry Lewis had a lifelong resentment for his dad. Dad couldn’t handle Jerry’s success. Never acknowledged his success.
I meet Robert Devall at a Southern States in Virginia in 2008, he was viewing a blue colored mule for a movie he was filming near by. The movie was called Get Low.

No hyphens!! Nevertheless is one word.
Most people realize that they see them on talk shows and tmz or whatever but even then you don't know how they really are but some are jerks even when they know the are being recorded haha
Did you do any television or movie acting? Did you work with any famous actors? Feel free to name names haha
WHO THE HECK IS TONY HAWK!.
A grown man who rides a skateboard for a living, has good reason to be humble.
@@archibaldbagge1235 Erm,have u tried it???
Tony Hawk came to Compton after donating a bunch of money for a skate park. No bodyguards, no publicists, nothing. Such a humble and nice guy.
@@franklinbolander1916 R u serious?? Goggle him and find out
I once bumped into Jack Lemmon at Vicente Foods grocery in Brentwood.
With Chevy Chase, that explains why there is a different Rusty and Audry in every Lampoon film.
@Biggus Dickus I understand that, but what I said also makes sense as well. Directors and actors work with assholes only once, or maybe twice or more if there is a contract.
@Thinking Atheist Lady she may have gotten a good "bang" for the buck. Lol
He does him nice. I always liked him. I'm glad he has an Emmy and Oscar.
I heard JC is a "piece of work...."
@Collin Reese Jones
.
Just curious to hear what you think....
.
I don't think Carrey loses any sleep over Jones not liking him.
Jones is known to be cantankerous so I am sure he dislikes a lot of people .
That’s so wonderful.
I always thought he was handsome too. It's nice to know he is a nice guy!
Makes me love him even more!
I met Elvis a few months ago in a grocery store and he was very nice!
No you did. Elvis doesn’t do his own shopping. He get’s Tom Hanks.
I’m ELVIS and I approve this statement. I did in fact meet whyme3286 last year in a grocery store.
I met Terrance Howard several years ago and told him as a veteran how much I admired his work in Red Tails. He seemed genuinely surprised, looked me in the eye, shook my hand and thanked me. I wasn’t fawning and spoke to him like a man.
I'm glad he was nice to you being a vet
I had lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel in summer 1991 and saw Warren Beatty at the next table with his friends and walked up to shake his hands and tell him I was a big admirer of his work. He got up and thanked me. He was so tall, slim, handsome and gracious.
Yes met him once. He came over to meet my mom. Was very polite
Johnny Depp!? Are you serious!? He takes his Jack Sparrow costume with him everywhere in case he feels like visiting sick kids in the hospital
He paid out of his own pocket to get everyone on the POTC set raincoats
Yes I don't believe it
He defended Roman Polanski!
Have you heard his recorded yelling spats?
@@relicofgold everyone has a bad day

I was a waitress in a Salt Lake City, Utah restaurant and served Donny Osmond and this wife. After I took their order he spoke to me asthough I was dismissed. I served their food and went back to check on them and he acted like I was bothering them and ask for the check. Threw money in the tray and left. I have never been an osmond fan "at all" and wasn't excited they sat in my section. He made me feel beneath them
Yes hear he is rude
What a jerk! I honestly don't know what Andy Williams " who discovered " The Osmonds saw in them. Especially, Donnys' voice, it's absolutely disgusting and I can't stand to hear him sing
There's a quote from the movie 3000 Miles To Graceland. "Just think of us as the Osmonds; only we don't f*ing get along!".
I never met Donny but Marie was extremely nice.
What a jerk! I guess the wife is too since she didn't tell him anything.
A nasty actress playing a nasty actress. No wonder she did it so well.
Faye Runaway ? No shock there. Her. career's been in the toilet ever since Mommie Dearest, but she still thinks she's a superstar.
See interview with Bette Davis said miss Dunaway worse unprofessional actress not many good words from ppl who worked with Jerry Lewis either

Yeah, why isn't she on the list? She should be.
None of these actors would not even be around if it wasn’t for us
One of the most ungrammatical sentences I have seen.
I don't even know who these people are
These "actors" start out starving and begging for work then when they get fame and fortune they behave like spoiled brats treating people like dirt. They will one day get in touch with reality and fall from grace if they can take it. These people are unbelievable, they dearly need a attitude adjustment.
I think that money makes them crazy and they start taking everything for granted.
phyllis....read my story I just written above....
An acquaintance told me she was on a domestic flight with Jimmy Carter after he’d left office. She said he walked down the aisle and shook hands with everyone, saying to her, “I just think people should know who their President was.”
Their 33 degree Freemason president representing the god of this world.

None of this should come as a surprise to anyone.
can tell you this right now.....alot of network news folks (from reporters to anchors to video news and a specific freelancer news cameraman wannabe) are snobbish SOBS!!!
I am actually surprised by this list because I see them in tv interviews and they seem so normal. I can't imagine Sandra Bullock being a snob.
@@lonelypigeon7562 I spoke to the late Joel Siegel three times, first time I was a 16-year-old kid. He seemed really nice, I guess he must be the exception.
Julia Roberts was the only shocker to me. Years back, she was still a down to earth person. Hollyweird sucks you in.

Can't stand know it all Oprah.
I totally agree
@@SciTrekMan exactly. Asking people to donate is just that...asking. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, in fact it makes me have more respect for her that she has a cause she supports and believes in.
