Transwomen are not more important than biological women. Tolerance is a 2-way street. You want respect for your way of life then respect others lifestyle choices. l would be interested to speak to the transwoman nurse and see what they think about making other nurses feel uncomfortable. There has to be a discussion about this. Transwomen that are transitioning but still have male anatomy must realize that this is confronting and triggering for some women. That in my opinion is the problem. We have 5 female nurses that feel uncomfortable, but the one transwoman and the NHS appears to be more concerned with their rights without any care, compassion or tolerance for the other nurses. I just wish that transwomen could accept that by putting their rights above biological women's that resentment, confusion and hurt follow. The NHS to solve this problem should redesign all the change rooms so that each cubicle is totally private. There must be a way to make everyone feel comfortable. At the moment the rights of a few are more important than the many and its not right.
Only 5 nurses felt uncomfortable, the rest didn't So it's an issue with the 5 nurses. They need to either get over themselves or get therapy for their issues with transgender women.
@@FatiFleur-jn7ky not only 5, 26 signed the letter of complaint. Plus, with the bullying that the ideology does, more will not say anything because of that. What harmful thing did the trans woman nurse do here? Make other nurses feel uncomfortable because she used the same room as them? If 'discomfort' is the rule, a lot of TERFs would feel uncomfortable with a trans woman in their changing rooms, even if this trans nurse had gotten bottom surgery. Even if she were the rare trans woman to have gotten blockers and never went through a male puberty. Is 'discomfort' something we should accept uncritically? During second wave feminism, many cis feminists did not feel comfortable allowing lesbians to be associated with the movement...some went so far as to suggest 'predatory' lesbians be restricted from female only spaces. Today we know that was plain old homophobia. Discomfort can be caused by real risk; by perceived risk; by bigotry.
I'm not sure how to feel about it. I have never seen a trans woman in a toilet or in a changing room. But if the concern is people being sexually attracted to the ladies who are changing then the lesbians enter the chat, don't they? You could have a trans woman who isn't attracted to women but is visibly trans who could not care less about them and a born woman lesbian who will be looking at those ladies with very different eyes 😂. As I said I'm really not sure how to feel because I personally never experienced it.

I was asked how many passports I had, and told the Accountant at CCC that I had a UK Passport, and that was all he should be concerned about. He wanted to know when I planned to leave the country. It's one thing to be trans / gender dysphoric and try to live your life as best you can. It is a very different thing to suggest that other people don't have a right to choose to not share an intimate space with people of your sex. That's the difference between "just trying to live your life" and preventing others from just trying to liv their lives. It is naive and misguided to conflate these 2 things.
100% This! I hate the "trans people are just trying to live their lives" & "why do you care what someone else does with their body?" rhetoric. There are plenty of instances where it affects other people & those are the only instances that concern most people.
Not every woman feels uncomfortable with trans women. England has been particularly stirred up against them, but generally many women don't care. These nurses didn't want to change in the same space as a trans woman nurse...so they were given a separate place to change. Their discomfort was accommodated. But if the trans woman would have to change in the men's space, especially if she had made a lot of physical progress in her transition, the men would feel uncomfortable...as well as the trans woman. Here the hospital tried to accommodate the majority of nurses who didn't mind, and this minority who did--and gave them their own space.
Didn't the video say this person had done nothing to transition, no hormones, no surgery. Doesn't really sound like a 'trans' anything, sounds more like a man wanting to use the women's changing rooms. If organisations like the NHS really wanted to be fair, they'd have 2 separate changing rooms for trans women and trans men to use or a unisex single stall type changing area that has a lock. They wouldn't need it to be big because there are a very small number of people who would need to use them.

@@helenromanelli2544 This is a great idea Helen, but I think you are slightly missing the point. The important question is why should some groups of females in our society be treated with greater consideration and respect than others?
Unfortunately (as a nurse myself for the past 20 years) this is still not the case … there are Muslim nurses and carers, as well as Sikhs and Hindus, on nearly every unit throughout the country. This gender ideology is really pushing it and is being prioritised over women, children and religion.

All nurses should walk out
Medics should be supporting them as well.
The English "legal" system is TOTALLY broken.
I keep saying the same thing about toilets and changing rooms that they should be single rooms like the toilets in a lot of places in London.
Only 5 nurses felt uncomfortable, the rest didn't
So it's an issue with the 5 nurses. They need to either get over themselves or get therapy for their issues with transgender women.
@@FatiFleur-jn7ky not only 5, 26 signed the letter of complaint. Plus, with the bullying that the ideology does, more will not say anything because of that.
You're missing the most important point which is that if one woman disagree with a man being in the women's changing room, he should be removed because he shouldn't be there in the first place.
@@escher2hands663 the reason for single sex spaces is for safety, dignity and privacy.
If a patient complains about not wanting a trans nurse, will the patient be told to leave the hospital and seek help elsewhere?
that has actually happened. Patients refused care because they asked for a 'real' female nurse.

Please write an email to the hospital stating your support for these women. Ask the management how they'd feel getting undressed in front of a biological male ? (or their wives, daughters, etc..) No matter how they identify.
Try to get anyone you know locally to email them too. Maybe ask why it's okay to have all female wards with transwomen excluded for the female public, yet their female staff don't get the same rights or respect.
I've had to do this here in Australia as we have a 'Sex Act' that was made to give females sex based rights that now includes gender. We females have zero rights to any female spaces now.
@@escher2hands663 Oh, I have nothing against people wanting mixed sex intimate spaces or gender identity (self id really, if we're being honest), but I do have a problem with "womens" being redefined to a mixed sex space / gender identity / self id separated space.

A good number of years ago my local hospital introduced mixed wards. It did not matter that every body, patients or not objected, this policy went ahead. Now we have a new hospital with single occupancy wards, despite the wishes of all that use the hospital to retain 4 bed wards that enable us to support each other and therefore reduce the need for nurses to walk extra miles each day. Oh the arrogance of the "management" who work 8 hour days while nurses work 13 hour shifts.
My late sister was put in a mixed sex ward and she had a man climb into her bed at night she rang the bell to get someone to remove him but it took over half an hour for someone to answer the call .
I'm in the US and the only unit that is female only is Labor and Delivery, but the fathers are there as well. Been like that for my whole life.
@@martinsigley3957 couldn’t agree more. Even the single sex nightingale wards, of old, with 14 + beds were better than this system.
