  • SpaceX CEO and CTO Elon Musk takes us on a tour of the SpaceX Headquarters located in Hawthorne, CA , just outside of Los Angeles. Once a manufacturing site for the 747 aircraft, this 500,000 square foot facility is where SpaceX now designs and builds 80% of the Falcon line.

This just popped up in my recommended list in August 2020 and in the last week I’ve live streamed spacex returning crew memebers from space, flying the starship prototype for the first time and delivering 60 satellites to orbit and returning the rocket safely. That’s a hell of a lot of accomplishments not to mention all the others that has happened since this video was uploaded, they still hadn’t flown a full falcon 9 mission yet and in 9 short years they changed the space industry and mankind forever. Well done spacex you are the single most inspirational company in existence.

Thank you Elon. I was in the USAF and worked on advanced helicopter systems. I understand the tech and have been following you for years. I am impressed you have a great memory and can remember all of these parts used to assemble the Dragon rocket. BTW I am so old I can remember when the Eagle landed on the moon. Dammit, as a small kid I should have showed more aspirations to work for Nasa.

Interesting that this was filmed in very uncertain times for Spacex. This was before the fourth Falcon 1 launch. The three previous launches failed. They were really close to folding during this time.

I'd imagine that it's a demanding place to work, with exacting requirements for work, due to the exacting spaceflight needs!!
It's just awesome how Elon knows what pretty much every part and machine and process is and how it all goes together! Just Wow!

The best thing about this is he’s done these great things and it wasn’t motivated by war or money. That’s a huge step forward for humanity. A fine milestone I don’t think many realize.

Nothing wrong with it either. Introversion has lead him to learn crazy amounts of information by himself which in return lead to all his amazing companies. If nervousness is the main tradeoff then I don't think he really cares. Speech impediments aren't funny either..
