actually the original purchaser receives a 5 year frame warranty and the first second hand owner receives a 2 year warranty if it is purchased within the first 5 years
Great to see a big brand really go hard after the entry market. These will be a bargain after a few years on the used market, being so stout. Btw, the chain guide needs to be adjusted downward (to secure the chain properly). And take that dork disc off! 🤣
I’d disagree on pedaling platform. The bike pedals quite well and doesn’t feel heavy or slow. The anti-squat is dialed along with steep 76 degree seat tube angle even in low. The bike pedals better than most bikes in its class and some all mountain bikes with less step seat angle.
Does anyone have a link in grabbing a service or general manual for the Status 160? I am able to find one on the website for the Stumpjumper, but can't find anything for the Status 160 would greatly appreciate it.
@@cream8701 Sure, that's absolutely ok. It's not personal. But the nuances of modern bikes can only be discovered if you're pushing them. It's like reviewing a hypercar by driving it to get groceries, may be entertaining but it isn't going to tell you everything about the car.
Nice, but not the 27.5" 180-190mm coil travel, Zeb/38 freeride/park bike hoped for. This is basically what some were doing with the Stumpy Evo. Maybe they'll have a frame-only option and the tinkerers will get it to be the freeride bike it should be.

I'm in the market for a park bike like this but for the trail you're riding in the video I wouldn't bother getting it and would just stick with my 150mm stumpjumper. This is a park bike and should have 170mm fork and 2.6s and be ready for freeriding and not trail riding. Not sure what's stranger -- how this bike is spec'd or the fact that spesh doesn't even acknowledge its existence.
Olly Dickinson cheers! it’s not available on the website mate, only in selected stores so best to phone up your nearest Specialized concept store and see if they have / can order you one if you want it.
How much?! These people are out there. Just how can you have a bicycle cost as much as a second hand car? That's why bike sales were hard pre-lockdown. I'm never paying over £300 for a brand new bike with bells and whistles, I could make bikes myself for less. In fact - I have a donor frame by Claude Butler and even with a full fat up-cycle build it will cost only £185.
While I think that today’s bike prices are somewhat out of control, a specialized bike for 2400 pounds is pretty amazing. And thinking 300£ would get you a capable gravity bike is insane. Even for a „old“ 26“ gravity oriented bike from the mid 2000s you’d have to pay at least 600£.
I would love to see any bike you can make for £300. Although I assume you mean “assemble” not “make”. Will it be full sus? I highly doubt it. Still, post your video when you’re done so we can all admire it. Lol.

I was expecting a 3k price tag but that is very impressive. I wonder if it comes with a lifetime frame warranty like their higher end bikes.
kevin Anderson apparently it does according to the store I’ve bought mine from.
