You know, what I'm most interested to learn is about the Rune magic, specifically the Rune Warriors & such. Are they human? Were they human once? Or are they purely magical constructs? Are the Rune Fighters like Cord human, were they once real humans or are they constructs? Are the soldiers you summon at the monuments real or constructs? Rohen was looking for your rune specifically, so what makes you so special? Is it because, unlike so many like Cord, you ARE really human? Or is it just because you served him during the war? Maybe I just haven't gotten far enough into the games to answer these questions.
As far as the lore of SF1 is concerned, the rune warriors were all once living beings, individuals, who had their souls chained to the runes and could be summoned and killed over and over, leading to most of them losing their former self after years of dying and killing over and over. Being a runeslave is a horrible thing, completely bound to another's will, cursed to eternal life and eternal death. The same is true for the rune faction summons. They're all former people of their kind, enslaved en masse by the circle to form a de-facto endless army because every one killed can be immediately reborn. It doesn't work for equipment on a large scale though, so you have to outfit them again if you want them to fulfill a certain role - hence resource costs in game.
there is one major thing missing: where is ragefire. depending on which game you look at they are either full demons or part demon part elemental (so gargoyle ish). the descriptions also seemingly allude towards that there are multiple ragefires, which has som interessint implications if true. 1 this means that zarach kinda has his own angels. 2 in the spellforce 2 description of the titan anyone killed by them has their soul given to zarach, while as far as i know (VERY LITTLE) there is no knowledge of what a guardian can do with a soul that only belongs to them but if one were to asume zarachs shapeing powers even included the soul, zarach is possebly capable of createing his own demons (sf1 states in the description of the totem unit that there is a very old bond between zarach and the demons of the red horde, whatever it might have been). if one can avoid thinking of the possebility of the renegades return also includeing a demon invasion, this could perhaps explain the totem in sf2, the orc is perhaps turned through a ritual into a gargoyle dedicated to zarach. back again to ragefire it is a shame the demon does not make a return in sf3, would have perfered them over the flesh collosus.
Ragefire does not appear because Grimlore had no intention of making an actual SpellForce game but Enderal RTS-RPG. It's only called SpellForce 3 because THQN (Nordic Games) wanted so. SF1 also had the Mistress of Zarach as one of the Succubi types, and Zerbo has now become the Red God, the Demon God.
@@Azoth86730 arguably the sf2 ragefire is even more interesing theory wise, since while both they and the totem no longer has any mentioned connection to the red horde, ragefire is as we have both said half demon half elemental, and as i mentioned in my original comment the souls of those slain by the titan belongs to the zarach. based on all that zarach has the power to create immensly powerfull gargoyles, and depending on just how much the renegades powers are affected by their banishment, zarach might have an army of ragefires ready to let loose upon the world should he ever be freed.

Zhuul sounds norcaine-ish. That would match to the fact that the imperial army was lead by the fial darg. Maybe it's the norcaine Name for this demon
