  • To withhold forgiveness keeps alive emotions of hurt, anger, and blame which discolor your perception of life.
To forgive, avoid ruminating on thoughts of being wronged. Rather, trust the power of forgiveness to heal the hurt and pain.
By holding on to pain and resentment, you suffer because the sorrow is intensified to keep it alive.
Despite people’s perceptions that forgiveness means to forget, its motive is preserved in self-forgiveness and the role you played in co-creating the circumstances.
This does not mean you consented to what transpired. Given your involvement, even as a victim, you forgive yourself regardless of your role.
In her talk, Amanda Iheme delivers a unique way of accepting people's mistakes and not allowing them to affect our personalities. She keenly explained four ways the Power of forgiveness can set us free
Amanda Iheme is an Igbo-Nigerian who works as a psychotherapist and an architecture photographer in Lagos. She runs her private practice called NDỊDỊ which means 'patience' where she currently works with private clients suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, and existential crisis, organizes private and public lectures, and provides psychotherapy sessions for the staff of corporate firms. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

"Leave people alone to suffer the consequences of their decision because it isn't destructive, it is formative. It enables them to become a better version of themselves". This is enlightening. Thank you Amanda for coming to the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.
