Haha I use the exact same pouch, for all the crap I used to keep in my pockets! Clip two Nite Ize SideLock #4 Carabina into the webbing loops on the back that the shoulder stap attaches to. That way you can clip it to a jean pocket by one capabina so you don't forget it when you stand up from a benchbin a public place. Connect both carabinas to you belt and you can wear it as a belt pouch and putting it on and off only takes 5 seconds (the carabinas have to be orientated the right way so the clip over your belt. Then finally I cut off the supplied hook closure things off the supplied shoulder strap and now I just slip the shoulder strap end loops over the Nite Ize carabinas to attach it to the pouch, less fiddly than the original so easy to reconfigure.
My EDC kit was huge and rarely used. Now... In pocket, knife and Maxpedition coin pouch holding keys to not scratch my knife. Band aid in wallet. EDC kit is a Maxpedition micro organizer with charger cord, Tylenol, backup pocket knife, small Victorinox to have toothpick and tweezers, etc., Fisher space pen, note cards, a zip tie, cash, small spork and Streamlight micro light. Keeping it simple.
Those little round, orange matchstick holders found in the camp section of stores like Walmart are perfect for holding Tums. They hold 12 tablets and cost about $1.
I love your “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” mantra, a prevalent theme throughout your entire EDC. It’s definitely a refreshing change from all the constant promotion of useless junk 😅 I’ll admit I’ve gotten carried away at times, like most of us in this community, but I always seem to come back to the tried and true 😁 Great content as always ! 🫶🏽
Hey Zac, love the content and your edc kit. FYI, colored electrical tape (other than black) will not leave gummy residue all over whenever you use it for stuff (bandaid, wiring etcetera).
I think the thing you're missing is a little plastic container for those loose batteries. They have ones that hold 4 AA size. Then you don't have to worry about them discharging prematurely as much.
I have a titanium set of nail clippers that are exceptionally light and small - and are designed to live on my key ring. Along with that I also have a small keyring light (olight) that is shockingly effective, ultralight folding knife (1" blade but very useful) and a whistle.
I carry a satchel and it works really well for me. I carry a LOT, and I use almost everything pretty frequently. I carry a first aid kit, a laptop(sometimes), chapstick, wrench, paracord, ferro rod, compass, spork, electrical tape, battery pack a couple different chords, gloves, bible, journal, sharpie, and deodorant.
One thing I have added recently. Shoe laces. I have paracord on all of my boots, but my Vans are rocking regular laces. Super cheap, so I have a few pairs stashed here and there.
Zac you’re the best buddy, I’m sitting here watching this video wondering how to refine my edc kit and it hit me. I should have earplugs in there too….the tinnitus is off the charts in my right ear from shooting boom sticks with no protection in my teenage years. That would be the most used and replenished item in there 100%. Also I’m going to wrap my extra bic with a bunch of electrical tape cause why not! Thanks Jamie! Happy new year from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦
Nice kit brother. I also carry a 2 (or 3) part EDC. Basically small, medium and large come to work everyday, with the small clipped onto me (VETO MP1X). But let's be honest here, my EDC evolves almost weekly. Outside of real life tasks and work, changing around all my EDCs is kinda like me playing with my toys and is a fun hobby in and of itself. Thank you for the content again my dude.
Hi Zac, I’d highly suggest you put a small or medium binder clip in your kit. They’re versatile for holding things to things (brim of cap, pockets, car window, keep bags closed, clothing, hold two things together when being super glued (dry time), use the wire handles to thread a post through them and then you can clip another item in the jaws. I host a channel and would enjoy doing a collab video if you’re interested. @realidealgear
Super great kit! I find when it comes to an edc kit, it's always those small items that can come in super handy. Like the electrical tape or spork. You might have mentioned it and I missed it, but I always include some zip ties, some string or microcode, and gorilla tape. I have a small edc kit that I carry everyday on my belt. Not as big or thorough as yours, but it works for me and I always find something to use from it most days. I've been carrying the CRKT Piet lately. It's a great little knife. But I really like the Pilar too.
I actually built a kit with the same pack in this video from the last video you did with Jamie! I personally have a first aid AND trauma kit in the front pocket, knife maintenance gear, a power bank, as well as Leatherman bit kits to supplement my 40th Anniversary tool! Great video as always!
I watch a lot of EDC videos, but yours is probably the first time I see things actually being used. Mostly they show new things, without traces of use. Your driving style shows that you're having fun with it and I like it :) In my EDC there is mainly a phone, a wallet, LM Super Tool 300M or Surge, Zippo, and a knife which changes from time to time. I have headphones, a power bank and other such accessories in my cars (truck), which I mainly take on military trips ;) I can send you photos :D. Keep making videos like this, I say YES :D good luck and greetings from POLAND
Awesome rundown, brother! Particularly enjoyed the piece around the pouch youve been carrying since you were 12 😂 That speaks so powerfully to my sentimental self. I shuddered when I saw that sharpie tho! 😲
Great kit, might I suggest an Ifixit Minnow as well. It's compact en out to almost fit in that little coin pocket on a Jean so it doesn't take up much space, but it's got practically every type of screwdriver bit that you'll need on a day to day basis, I often forget I have it with me, but it's saved me quite a few times
Check out the Hoto Precision screwdriver. It has all the driver bits in the body and works really well. Have that whole kit that is about the size of a fat sharpie.
Nice kit. I’d consider switching out the adjustable wrench for one of the Knipex pliers wrenches. They are more expensive but such a joy to use compared to other adjustable wrenches (in the 5 or more inch sizes, the 4 inch is too small). The combination of having the Knipex pliers wrench and Knipex cobra works well in just about any situation.
Alpaka should sponsor your channel because I just picked up the tech case mini. And will house well… tech stuff. Like carry small SSDs, SD cards, and my MX mouse because I hybrid work and need something I can just throw in my bag and leave the top pocket open for other things. Probably a smallrig multitool will go in there for camera rigs.
Another great video. My only issue is the rolling square. I have 2 long and short versions, if you have a case on your device you might not be able to plug the cable in as the charger is too wide. It is great other than that.
Zac: "I don't care much for nail care." Also Zac: * carries nail clippers * Me: * pulls legs! * (Good thing you got that file on the Swiss card though, that way you can file off the sharp burr that comes with clipping.)
I make a difference between an 'EDC' kit and a 'Travel' kit. What's always in your pockets is your EDC. In summertime when I wear light clothes and don't have a coat on so way less pockets I use a small fanny pack. What you're showing is to me a 'Travel kit' and for your use of it it makes sense. I travel by public transport so my travel kit has toilet paper and hand sanitizer for instance.
One thing I always carry with me in my wallet is a very small thing of eyedrops. And I never see people really having those in their kits and a lot of times if I rub my eyes, my eye will start to bother me like something that was on my hand, got in my eye And it just helps to be able to wash my eye out or sometimes you just inadvertently get something in there and it helps to have a little bit of eyewash with you to clean out whatever’s in there. I rarely ever see anybody having that in their kit.even in first aid kits, the small ones anyway you don’t really see them too much or even at all and for me it’s a super important thing to carry on me.
@@monkpato sometimes it’s just an eyelash but still especially when you don’t know what’s in there you don’t wanna keep rubbing it in case it’s a very fine piece of wood or God forbid a metal shaving. It’s always better to just irrigate your eye. And if it gets under the lid somehow, and you have someone there with you, you can pull your own eyelid up off the surface of the eyeball while someone else squirts the rinse right in there. It’s not super easy to do that by yourself but it can be done.. it’s just one of the worst feelings to have something stuck in your eye
I’ve noticed recently how minimal my edc is, pocket knife usually an OKC rat 1, a Streamlight 1L-1AA and my wallet typically that’s it unless my firearm is being carried at the time but it works for me so I suppose that’s all that matters. 🤷♂️
Wnt to feel like James Bond? Get yourself a really good waterproof Flash drive. Partition it and install a Linux Virtual machine. I had one for years I could plug into any computer and run a variety of programs I wasn't able to use on public computers (at a library). Its awesome.
The Squid is the perfect little work knife/5th pocket knife. One of the prime criteria for how I choose a knife is that I don't want them to look like a weapon. Stainless Holey Squid looks nothing like a weapon and I love it for that.
I travel heavy for work too. I always carry a little first aid kit with meds/bandaids and an charging pouch that has all the chargers and cords i could ever need.
I have a separate tech kit that lives in my carryon, but I also have a power bank and short cord that matches all my gear (USBC) in my edc bag. I have a small med kit in my carryon, but usually just something small (bandaids, moleskin, antibiotic salve...) in my edc bag.
I carry that Alpaka Elements tech case. It works really well. I am not crazy about the strap though - it's too narrow and isn't comfortable. While it is not very uncomfortable either. I wouldn't take it on a day tramp though as it would bother me. Other than that great little pouch/sling. I like what you said about using the stuff in the kit. A while back I found I was carrying stuff that I wasn't using so I removed it from my kit. One good example was the Gerber Shard. Over 2 years I never used it once and the sharp point on it kept making holes in my pocket.
I have two Anker USB Power banks. a small one, 13,000, which I keep in a hardshell case. and a big 26,800 one, that I also have a hardshell case for. I don't often carry them. Unless I'm camping or spending the day some where I do not have access to power. I like that one long cord. Might have to get one. Looks like you've got a good kit.
Good vid. Same philosophy, I have a minimal daily carry on me (Victorinox Garant, Leatherman MiniTool, Pocket Wrench II, wallet, etc. My home, car, and office has the other stuff so that I don’t have to carry a bag. My lunchbox has a first aid kit.
If you don’t need it to be TSA safe, the SwissCard Lite is better IMO. You get the small but surprisingly sharp swisscard knife with the same 4-bit driver tool then add in the light and not bad
I agree. And all you need to make it tsa compliant is to leave the knife blade home. I also have the Leatherman PS that is tsa compliant. I already carry two other folding knives. I don't need a knife on my multitool.
Thanks to you, I ordered the victorinox swiss card lite the first time you showed it . I collect knives, so I called the local store in Ripley, Ohio #Eagalvalley . I told them about you, and I just had to have it. So thank you for costing my husband more money lol! My husband wants to know where you got your jacket? Happy New Year.
I have a set of titanium folding utensils, including chopsticks (I use them a lot). It has a little drawstring pouch. I prefer having a spoon and fork over a spork but that personal preference. If I leave the knife at home, it's tsa friendly.
For tech carry, I tried a cable like that and wasn’t a fan. What I ended up carrying was a long USBc to USBc cord and then an adaptor kit (like the Kable Card) and use one of those sticky card holders that stick the the back of your phone to connect it the the power bank that I have. It a great set up that is just as versatile but doesn’t rely on any specific brand. Great video! Always love your chill and humble attitude. You’re not about the flash but just about the practicality. And I appreciate that.
My 0.02, I carry a sealed travel bottle of contact lens fluid, even though I wear glasses like Zac. With visors or goggles it happens only once a decade or so, but as a biker a fluke bit of dirt can hit your eyeball so hard you can't blink it out. A helpful Samaritan stopped and just blasted a stream of her contact lens fluid into the corner of my eye and that did the trick. I have used mine twice since then, but only to help others to clean and insert a contact lens after they dropped it in the dirt. I'm currently looking at my Kawasaki factory mini under saddle toolkit, to see if it can cooperate with my EDC better. The screwdriver's out, replaced with JIS bits and a spark plug.
Just got the same Alpaka Tech Case mini in blue. Its great so far. Also, if your portable charger is old like you say you may be able to get a smaller one with the same MAH power output. Maybe not, just a thought. Create space for a new piece of gear. Thanks for the vids!
“EDC” has gotten out of hand, it’s cool seeing what others find useful but most of it is surplus to requirement. People buying full survival kits like they’re in a canyon every day of the week when they live in a city 360 days a year…
🎉do you really carry that whole bag/ with you around every day? To the store? Etc... or do you just leave it in your car, hotel room, home? And if you need it you go get it? Im looking for a system to always accompany me... water bottles being the main thing, battery brick, cords, meds, flashlight, small mini pocket knife to open mail, boxes etc.
Hello Zac, the mighty algorythm decided to bring me to your videos. I hope you are well and I want you to know that your edc setups were quite inspiring.
A glue stick has become indispensable in my kit. Highly versatile in fixing stuff from insulating wire connections to pulling out a stuck broken key. Mended my boots several times too.
I prefer a glue stick to super glue most of the time (less potential mess!) but I have to admit that the super glue is also useful in a medical emergency.
In my experience, the rolling square chargers are really finicky and break easily. Maybe I'm hard on my cables, but I've had much cheaper cables last much longer
For storing pills, try a pocket pharmacy- its a little latched plastic case with individual doors to keep it separated and labeled. I used to use altoid tins, this is much neater.
6:25 Look for USB-C rechargable AA and AAA batteries, they are a lifesaver and don't tend to leak chemicals like alkalines sometimes do and you can recharge them with a powerbank.
@@zacinthewild It's not mine, @DeviantOllam mentioned these battery replacements in one of his EDC-themed videos and they work great even with my Fenix E12 v2.0 and Maratac AA Titanium (though the runtime is definately shorter than with a high quality alkaline or lithium-based battery).
A good add would be a 6 ft tape measure unless you already have one in your pocket which I bet you do. Your Swiss Card is great. I have one in my wallet for several years now.
You really should keep your medicine in it original packaging. It keeps it better and has important info on it like exp date and batch id in case of a bad reaction
A couple of additions you might consider: Two sets of bamboo chopsticks A pair of hemostats for fine work, and bleeds. Small needlenose vicegrips. Pliers for pliers stuff, also good for larger bleeds. Some zip ties Velcro Cable ties.
Great video! I built my first ever edc kit similar to your 1.0 because I loved the versatility..you guys have some of the best edc content out there..keep up the great work!
I found my self cerry to much Like 4 months ago. Booboo kit that mini Has + hydrogel for burns, bigger pads etc, USB stick, mini type c cable, olight lighter with type C battery, USB C - jack, leatherman raptor from ali (wanted foldible scizors and those r insane for 10$ crazy value) and. leatherman skeletool bec sometimes pliers r usefull. I would love to cerry more but i know i dont need IT. Hard to accept but easy on a wallet xd
Zack we have chatted back and forth on your channel about EDC a few times. However I don't see any firearms , pepper spray (self defense) EDC? Is this something you do just not discuss on your channel? Great videos keep up the good work.
Sooo, when you need a bit driver you will need to run to your car is what you are saying? * caresses bit driver pen * It's prolly in your pocket organizer though, if I remember correctly.
Disappointed the Victorinox nail care card doesn’t really have any nail care items in it. I carry nail clippers, tweezers, and cuticle scissors and use them weekly at least. Most important thing you are missing is a IIIa ballistic panel, or at least it would be if you lived where I live.
I think you should really give a new power bank a shot. They have much higher output, 65-100+. It's super nice being able to run your laptop off of it, or if you ever get an android, insanely fast charging.

very logical every day items,,,basically a man -purse,,,im surprised how many people think edc is supposed to become a woodland survival kit

The coin purse for keys is a good suggestion that I’ve never thought of. Appreciated.
Nice set up
Those little round, orange matchstick holders found in the camp section of stores like Walmart are perfect for holding Tums. They hold 12 tablets and cost about $1.
Something EVERYONE forgets to mention as part of their EDC (if they wear them,) are their GLASSES. If ya know ya know.

He’s not wearing a jacket, it’s just another flannel shirt in a larger size. We do this a lot in colder climates.
Glad it was helpful! The jacket is a Harley Davidson coat that was gifted to me. Super warm and comfy👊
This one actually is a jacket but I am known to layer just the flannel regularly😁
@@zacinthewildThank ya so much.
I’ve found myself needing utensils for lunch at work so I just ordered the Ka-Bar tactical spork.
I have a set of titanium folding utensils, including chopsticks (I use them a lot). It has a little drawstring pouch. I prefer having a spoon and fork over a spork but that personal preference. If I leave the knife at home, it's tsa friendly.
My dad was a spark, watching him cover cuts with electric tape after licking the cut made 🫣. Thanks for this. 👍
Hopefully he never got a cut on his elbow....
The 12v to usb is very useful as many new cars such as VW only have usb -c . NO LEGACY USB .
Concur
the swisstec nail kit is just a toollogic card if they were still around just the tool logic was a bit more usefull and cheaper
I would advise you to not have anything with a lithium battery in a bag for a long time because it will explode if it doesn’t get consistent use
Just over the holidays was wondering why we don’t see edc nail clippers more. Very handy.
Anyone know what journal he uses? I have some field notes pads but his look woven instead of stapled and I think that’ll hold up better for me.
Zac, I think you would enjoy the latest video I have uploaded. It’s a huge motorcycle salvage yard in Michigan
I carry usb c rechargeable batteries mostly AA so if they run flat I can just plug them into a usb charger and get them and whatever they run back up
Slow down please man. Thought the video was playing on X2 speed XD.
Great video! I like that you can have anything you want but you reuse and hold onto things that work for you. Keep it going brother.
Wait you grew up in Vegas? I went to Kermit R. Booker. I’m a 79 model I was in the 6th grade
I don't smoke, and there's not a lot of pay phones around anymore, but I still like to carry a bic with two quarters duct tape to it.
Should look into the 6004 Wera Joker which is an open faced ratcheting action spanner that does a range of bolts with one tool.
6:25 Look for USB-C rechargable AA and AAA batteries, they are a lifesaver and don't tend to leak chemicals like alkalines sometimes do and you can recharge them with a powerbank.
Great idea!
Bic lighters can and do fail and will let you down. In humid climates or just over time the flints will corrode and disintegrate.
I use the Go Sling Nano! I love it it’s perfect for everything I need
A good add would be a 6 ft tape measure unless you already have one in your pocket which I bet you do. Your Swiss Card is great. I have one in my wallet for several years now.
I do carry a nice little 3ft tape in my wallet. I used to do the 6ft key chain but found it more in the road then usefull😁👊
You really should keep your medicine in it original packaging.
It keeps it better and has important info on it like exp date and batch id in case of a bad reaction
im surprised why you dont carry the new arc and have the wave plus in there.
Idk where you’re getting the squid but the cheapest I’ve ever seen it even on sale is $25 I’ve never seen it down at $15
A couple of additions you might consider:
Two sets of bamboo chopsticks
A pair of hemostats for fine work, and bleeds.
Small needlenose vicegrips. Pliers for pliers stuff, also good for larger bleeds.
Some zip ties
Velcro Cable ties.
I'd change the bamboo chopsticks for stainless steel, telescoping chopsticks.
Bad ACE CHANNEL. THESE VIDEOS KEEP ME ON MY TOES AND AWARE OF MY PERSONAL USEFUL ITEMS!
Come on bro let’s call it what it is the strap makes it an official man purse and not a clutch😂😂😂
I always put my glue in a plastic bag. It always finds a way to leak when you leave it in a car.
One thing I find usefull is paperclips. I carry 4 or 5. You can put paper together. But also use it with 3 or 4 connected to tie something.
And you can eject CDs!
@@CreachterZ yep, and sim/sd cardslots.
Also safety pins! Just a couple in different sizes
Great video! I built my first ever edc kit similar to your 1.0 because I loved the versatility..you guys have some of the best edc content out there..keep up the great work!
Really means a lot! So glad you found it useful!👊
Thanks for sharing your updated carry Zac, be safe.
You need to put cotton balls in those medicine tins because they week rattle themselves to dust.
pocket tool organiser??? Where can this be purchased?
Digging that old school Buck.
My favorite edc knife is a buck I've had for 30+ years
so... what's the point of this? Do you carry it with you or not?
That orange flannel is a major flex!
Why does your multi tool look rusty on the blades?
Do you have a video about the best EDC pouch?
I found my self cerry to much Like 4 months ago. So I decided to see what i need and I ALWAYS have on me.

I would love to cerry more but i know i dont need IT. Hard to accept but easy on a wallet xd
Are you in a firken slot canyon??!??
Zack we have chatted back and forth on your channel about EDC a few times. However I don't see any firearms , pepper spray (self defense) EDC? Is this something you do just not discuss on your channel? Great videos keep up the good work.
Fantastic keep on keeping on 😎🙏🏼.
Sooo, when you need a bit driver you will need to run to your car is what you are saying? * caresses bit driver pen *
It's prolly in your pocket organizer though, if I remember correctly.
No on the BIC git a Clipper!!!
