One of the greatest examples of how to completely burn a recording studio down to the ground and leave nothing but beauty for ashes. What were they thinking when they invited Barnes and Bonamassa into the room at the same time? Thanks boys. One of the greatest pyro moments in the history of soul - ever. And that’s it. Over and out. 🪵 🧨💥 🔥 💨 😮👏 🫡
I only discovered Joe Bonamassa, now one of my favourite guitarist, playing via Jimmy Barnes. So I looked for more Joe and found Jimmy’s daughter Mahalia Barnes, singing, Riding With The Kings, and Joe on guitar. Mahalia has her father’s soul, but looks like her beautiful Mother Jane Barnes.
Mahalia is named after the fabulously talented Gospel singer, the late, great Mahalia Jackson. With a name like that, Jimmy's girl just HAD to be a singer!
@@musiclover9361 Yes I knew that. His other 2 daughters sing as well. You probably know, Elly May Barnes has song in RUclips called Creep. Her doco about her life and so many surprises is heartbreaking but so inspiring
Knew you would like this one, the guitar is one of my favourite instruments and Joe killed it combined with jimmy’s crazy vocals this performance is fire 🔥. Yes this is old classic soul look how old Jimmy is and he sounds better then almost anyone lol. Check out a younger Jimmy “a change is Gonna come” live in 1984
Jimmy Barnes is ridiculously talented, dive into his solo work or with the band "Cold Chisel". The man literally does not sing a bad song. You will love it. Thanks for the reaction 👍
You have heard Jimmy in his 30,s now you've heard him in his 50,s you now need to hear him at 66 year's of age he released a song about 3 months ago just after his 66th birthday the song is Soothe Me with Sam Moore. Sam's voice is incredible and he is 86years old. You will love this song.
Having pipes like that at 67 years old STILL leaves a person in awe !!!! Then put that with THE BEST guitar player alive . Joe IS THE BEST since Stevie , Gary & Jeff Healy , beyond any doubt !
Jimmy's son Jackie is on drums on this video. Wife Jane and his daughters are usually his backing singers. Jane learned guitar during lockdown and they put tonnes of covers up on his Facebook page.
You might actually really like Jimmy's most recent release, "Soothe me" with Sam Moore of Sam and Dave? Jimmy always does amazing duets (I think the fact there were two vocalists in Cold Chisel kind of set him up for working really well with other singers). Jimmy actually did a duet version of Simply the Best with Tina Turner in the early 1990s that manages to be even better than the original. I don't know whether that might be your thing? Their voices work incredibly well together.
Jimmy Barnes has been an Australian rock legend since pretty much the mid '70's. It's wonderful to see an international audience discover and appreciate his wonderful talent. His original band Cold Chisel are legends of Aussie music. May I make a suggestion? Try the John Farnham live version of the Beatles classic "help".
Barnsey is Aussie rock and soul loyalty. He has provided Australia with the best rock and soul music since the 1970s when he started out with Cold Chisel. He’s sold more records than any other Australian artist. Ps it isn’t what it is! You can still learn guitar. Half hour a day you’ll be playing within 3-6 months.
Watching young people react to this warms my heart ❤️ I have always been called an old soul since I was young and even at 73 years old I still feel this deep in my soul 👵🙏
Barnsey is a legend, should go down that rabbit hole and look up his band Cold Chisel so many great performances. If u like a guitar performance Cold Chisel Bow River
For something completely different check out Jimmy Barnes in his wild, wild 20's with Cold Chisel singing Wild Thing on the Last Stand tour. He's so drunk he struggles to stand up, but his vocals are just as good. Rock icon.
Joe Bonamassa is one of the best guitarists on the planet. He opened for BB King when he was 12 years old. He is making his runs up as he feels them. I suggest that you listen to a few of his other songs, such as I'll Play the Blues for You and, with Beth Hart, I'd Rather Go Blind. If you listen to that one, make sure you get the Live from Amsterdam version.
Joe is legendary on guitar and Jimmy is an Aussie vocal legend over the years he has sung everything fro metal through rock blues to soul his incredible range grit and power cannot be matched.
Great song a treat for the ears and the soul. Ive grown up listening to jimmy for over 50 years and it never gets old. Total class. Great reaction , honest 👍😎🦘🇭🇲🇭🇲😃
If you want to be blown away by vocals watch this one two Aussie ledgens together Jimmy barnes and John Farnham with johnny diesel on guitar another Aussie artist you'll love that as well Title when theirs so wrong with my baby please watch live version always watch these guys live
Just ran upon your reaction to this song and Both of these artists are 2 of my favorites . Bonamassa is a beast on that 6 string and Jimmy Barnes is my favorite male vocalist ever .
I wish I could have warned you! So amazing and I have heard it hundreds of times...so glad You discovered this! Joe will freak you out, his guitar playing goes places as you follow his life journey, amazing...if Joe Bonamassa ever plays anywhere near you, GO!!!!
Ive seen Barnsey live and even back saw him when he was in Cold Chisel. He the best Aussie Soul singer n rock. Love..Love...Love! And Joe knows how to make his guitar sing!! :)
I had to laugh at your initial comments knowing you ain't seen nothing yet, girl. 🤣 Great rection and I'm in for the journey. Subbed and looking forward to more. And I understand times are tight but try and use at least ear buds if headphones aren't possible. The sound is so much better. My fav guitar work is Pink Floyd's masterpiece, "Comfortably Numb." Cheers from Aus.
There's a much earlier video duet with John Farnham doing "When Something's Wrong With My Baby", a great old tune.. It is REALLY good! Jimmy also has an interesting duet with Tina Turner that is pretty special. You can find them both on RUclips...
That guitar is just killin it. Absolutely beautiful playing! And Jimmy, he's been belting out vocals for decades. Still got it big time. Look him up with Cold Chisel if you haven't already.
I dunno how I missed you reacting to this absolute gem 💎 🤔 Jimmy & Cold Chisel formed in Adelaide in October 1973 & moved to Sydney in 1976. Their self-titled debut album 'Cold Chisel' was released in 1978. So yeah,he's been around the circuit! Hi Soul Session Sundays. Michael from Australia here. You might like to see Jimmy with his band, Cold Chisel. There guitarist Ian Moss also has a great voice. For a great Australian female vocalist, I recommend Vanessa Amorosi. Her range is crazy. She toured the UK many years ago and also performed on the Dave Stewart show.
For guitar at the same level, try Stormy Monday or Red House with Gary Moore (both are covers, Red House a Hendrix Cover and... taken right out of memory, T-Bone Walker for Stormy Monday)... Also Need Your Love so Bad with Fleetwood Mac.
Interesting little fact Jimmy Barnes use to belt out tunes and other vocals for an hour backstage before every concert just to warm up his vocal cords.
Great reaction...it was all in your face. If you are looking for another masterpiece, check out... I Would Rather Go Blind with Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa Live in Amsterdam.
This song was written by a band member of Cold Chisel, recorded in the 70's? Joe Bonamassa was a guitar prodigy, started playing on stage in his single digits youth.
Hopefully, you have now looked for the superb combination of John Farnham & Jimmy Barnes, our two Aussie legends - "When something is wrong with my baby" and "When the war is over"...enjoy!...Heather
Joe is the guitar player and of the other musicians are part of his road band is you go to his channel he got many lve performance and he is one of the greatest blues groups who tour . Jimmy is a great talent from Australia if you love the blues u have found some of the best

Awwww bless you Belinda! Yes life took over for a while and I had to put my own mental health first …. I hope you understand 😊 it’s great to be back! ❤️ Thank you for watching x
jimmy barnes was offered the job as david lee roth's replacement in Van Halen. but turned it down because he had 3 young kids at home which he wanted to be raised as aussie as himself. The job went to Sammy Hagar who still is amazing live.
If you like that crying guitar, you need to watch a live performance of Gary Moore playing Still Got The Blues. BTW, I bought myself a guitar for my 40th birthday a few years ago. Now I own seven of them and play every day. Best decision I ever made.
Do "When Something is Wrong with my Baby" ALWAYS LIve for Australian artists. The 2 beat singers independently & with their two seperare bands. By Jimmy Barnes & John Farnham.Known as Farnsey & Barnsey. Then do John Farnham LIVE with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra with "HELP" & "YOU'RE THE VOICE". A range & the most vocally perfect performance one could see. THE GOAT. He was asked to replace Freddie in Queen & said no.
I've seen I think all of your reactions to Angelina and some others to good music, so when I saw you reacted to this epic performance I knew it would be a most pleasurable reaction and came here to watch it, and I was not disappointed 💓 Girl you know some good muzac when you hear it and the way you express that with your mimics, gestures and words is heartwarming, really love to watch your reactions! Would be thrilled to see how you'd react on this one, most extraordinary voice and music: Isyana, 29, Indonesian, started as a classical concert pianist and opera singer (Royal School of Music, London), but is a songwriter, composer, arranger and producer of her own music as well, masters five instruments and sometimes plays a whole orchestra on her electone...She's one of the rare cases of a complete artist, a musical genius that effortlessly transcends years and genres, in one song she may take you from opera over Jazz to metal and back again, and on top of her unbelievable musicianship is blessed with one of the purest and most beautiful voices I've heard in my 55 years... For a start I chose for you the first episode of a live performance in seven episodes totally of the seven songs on her album "Lexicon" released two years ago, this semi acoustic rearrangement called "Lexicoustic" was performed one year ago... Ep. 1 is the title song of that album, would love to see your face and hear what you got to say when listening to this, I know you're one of the reactors who could REALLY appreciate this, as your love, feeling and understanding of music transcends years and styles as well... Pink Floyd live from Pulse Concert 94. SRV live at Macombo. Does'nt get any better if you love guitarplayers. When they were born they tried to separate the guitars from them. Tank God they couldn't
If you enjoyed this, you'd probably like his duet with John Farnham singing _Something Is Wrong With My Baby_ with Diesel on guitar. The live versions are best!
Hey lovely! I believe I already reacted to this…. Here’s the link for you to check it out if you have any spare time to do so: ruclips.net/video/b_-fG_ydQwk/видео.html 🤎
Hey Soul Session Sundays, can you react to 😇 Gabriel Henrique: Stand Up ( Cynthia Erivo cover) , O Holy Night ( MC cover); see you soon and God bless you🙏
nuber one , we do not call that soul music in the united state... this is called the blues here , we have soul music as well , or you may even call it soulful blues. blues music start in the south in new orlean.. and then saint louis . soul started mere in the north also at one time known as the motown sound. sometimes they mix soul and blues together. we have so many types of genres of music here alot of times they just mix different genres together. the united states is just filled with surprises .think about it , we got the biggest and most diverse people in the world and they all bring their own sound so we are very blessed where it comes to music.
Ok young lady, now listen to Joe Bonamassa, Beth Hart - I’d rather go Blind- Live in Amsterdam, then check out Blues Deluxe, Evil, Double Trouble, then his library of over 40 cds, then there is BB King having Joe on stage when he was 12yrs old.
Jimmy’s whole life is in this song.
One of the greatest examples of how to completely burn a recording studio down to the ground and leave nothing but beauty for ashes. nuber one , we do not call that soul music in the united state... this is called the blues here , we have soul music as well , or you may even call it soulful blues. blues music start in the south in new orlean.. and then saint louis . soul started mere in the north also at one time known as the motown sound. sometimes they mix soul and blues together. we have so many types of genres of music here alot of times they just mix different genres together. the united states is just filled with surprises .think about it , we got the biggest and most diverse people in the world and they all bring their own sound so we are very blessed where it comes to music.
BARNSEY and FARNSEY, get them on your list, THIS IS NOT A DRILL, do it
Ok young lady, now listen to Joe Bonamassa, Beth Hart - I’d rather go Blind- Live in Amsterdam, then check out Blues Deluxe, Evil, Double Trouble, then his library of over 40 cds, then there is BB King having Joe on stage when he was 12yrs old.
I’ve already restated to this lovely you should check it out x
