I know this was 3 years ago, but thanks for this. I have to replace a starter on mine and this helps a lot. Mine looks exactly the same but it's a kohler. Could you tell me the model number so I can buy parts for this thing with more confidence?
That was long ago and far away but alas poor Urich I can help.. if you have a Kohler .. there should be a sticker on the side of the motor with your model number on it.. if you can take a pic of that and email it to me i can send you all the info you need.. also if you can count the number of teeth on the starter and send me a pic of it also I can look it up for you. munkywrenches@gmail.com
When you understand the basic wiring it's pretty easy.. main wires being hot lead to key, hot lead from key to starter solonoid, hot lead to fuel cut off and kill wire.. the rest are all safety switches. At best u will have to use different connectors or perm splice but honestly fear of the unknown is worse than the actual wiring. I'm sure u will do it well
Wow that was really bad thank you for the video

PS the info sticker is missing on mine and all I have to go off of is the "kohler" sticker on top of the blower.

Was the clutch assembly hard to get off the crank?
How complicated was the wiring for the Briggs swap on it ? My mower needs an engine too

What Briggs did u end up going with at the end? because I have the same one with the blown engine. Thanks for your advice.
What size was that engine
Thanks for the message.. it was few years ago but I think 22hp..
So what was the outcome? Were you able to rebuild it or no? What replacement engine did you go with?
We ended up putting a 24hp briggs on it..
Always check your oil level before you use it.
In my personal machines I check level every time I use them
what engine model is this kohler does anyone know I'm looking for an identical one
Kohler CV740-0026 27 HP Engine
The one I’m doing at the moment is a Kohler CH750V-0026.
No need for the foul language..
