Motor swap FYI, ANY of the coils under the flywheel produce AC only, There may be Up to THREE total! (more on that) You did get it right later on the video calling that little three spaded lug device correctly IS a Rectifier as well as a battery charging Regulator, only 1/2 wave with only 2 diodes BTW a Full wave bridge would have 4 diodes and 4 wires, for better amperage and smoother DC (1/2 is just fine for tractor unless your installing a car stereo :)) now, About that third coil, Kohler came up with a Motor/Brake system (Kinda like on your chopsaw or moterized mitre box where when you release the trigger the blade stops almost Instantly) for a few model years ( on the 17 OHV maybe others) two extra wires Put out damn near 90 Volts at full RPM so be careful! If you run into this Just cap them off, great wire splice tutorial, I had my money on your "hook splice" but you sure proved a proper pair of crimpers is the way to go for sure! Thank's keep it up!
Great tutorial on wire splicing! I have a new respect for the crimp-type connector, that's for sure. If you remember, please let us see the new muffler install as well.
A LeBlanc I will let you see the new muffler when I'm mounting it. I'm hoping it does not hit the back guard on the tractor. In the video I had the back guard removed.
Excellent info and your explanation of the topics you are covering makes it very easy to follow and understand, thanks for taking the time to make video's ...great work !
I’m with you those scotch locks suck. They might get you out the door but they will corrode and you will loose connection. Don’t ever use them on a trailer wiring harness. I throw them out and get good connectors. You can thank me later.
You could slide a pick in the connector of the wire you want to change, pressing down on the pin and pull the wire with end out and slide it into the correct one.
Hey dw6 will a vertical shafts 18 hp easily swap to a sears gt6000 that had the opposed horizontal briggs? I have my doubts everything seems wrong . Axel steering pto you name it.Have you ever recovered one of these gt from the 90
Alternator on engine produces AC voltage (usually, modern engines) regulator/rectifier changes AC voltage to DC volts, unless a diode is used instead…. Just to clarify…😵💫
I changed my 19hp kohler motor. it was on a 2007 Troy bilt the block cracked. Kohler courage 19hp sv590-006 the other mower was a 2002 troy bilt with a briggs 17.5 motor. I put the briggs on the mower that had the kohler on the kohler the two wires coming from the stator ran to a voltage regulator.on the briggs it don't have one. do I need to put the voltage regulator on the briggs motor. it keeps draining the battery when off. also each mower don't have a pto Thanks for any Help Ron-513-8053050
With the electrical connector, you can depin it and repin it in the correct orientation. And your solder joints are not hot enough. Don't tell people to fix extension cords. Someone stupid might try and burn down a house with people in it
I like the time you took to patiently go through the steps.

Thank you so much for the detailed video. Could you please tell me where you were able to find the higher output stator in order to work the blades?
I dont like them scotch clips . Any wiring I repair I either soder it or but connectors with shrink tube

What happened to the Kawasaki?
