    That move used to be known as the Soufflee, and it was totally illegal in the United States when I wrestled. PS: In conditioning/training for grappling/wrestling, the most important exercise is bridging. It will spare you a trip to the hospital, by making your neck sufficiently strong and flexible. Flexibility is essential in wrestling,

    Looks good. I would suggest moving your lock to one side and cinching your arms before the throw instead of pinching your elbows together and keeping them in the middle. This makes the lock tighter and your opponent easier to control. It also puts less stress on your lower back

      You may be starting the race late but it’s not too late to start at all. You must take things slower and not try to win all the time. Just enjoy the learning process and build yourself up. You may not become as good as you could have been had you been doing it all your life, however I promise you will be better than if you never tried at all. 💪

    Sometimes when I am just wrestling with my partner and we don't wanna power slam each other I get the back clinch then I pop my hips but instead of throwing him over my back I just lift then sorta throw him to the side gently and land on him, though I maintain the clinch when I throw him down. Sorta hard to explain through the internet but knowing that hard slams aren't allowed in folk it's a nice substitute for the real over the back suplex.

    • @erics2305
      @erics2305 6 лет назад

      To be honest, I think you should only do this in a street fight if it's absolutely necessary, though. I mean if you don't injure yourself you will probably injure the other guy quite badly. So if you can't claim self-defense you might be in big trouble.

    • @BreXiaN

      well i thought the whole point is to injure the other guy ?

    • @erics2305
      @erics2305 6 лет назад

      Of course that depends on how you look at it. Personally, I wouldn't want to break somebody's neck or crack somebody's skull if it's not necessary. Plus you risk going to jail for a pretty long time if you can't convince the court that what you did was in self-defense.

    a)what's the goal of this throw? to hit his head to the ground?
    b) what's going to happen if he hooks your leg with his leg?

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  9 лет назад +1

      To score points or pin in wrestling. To do damage in MMA and take him down. To hit his head on the ground could be the goal. If the opponent hooks your leg to counter, it can defend the throw, however a counter to the counter is to lift the hooked leg and throw off of one leg. The person hooking the leg will be surprised when he still gets thrown. This counter is very advanced and should be practiced many times on a crash pad.

    • @rollingkneebar3534
      @rollingkneebar3534 9 лет назад +1

      A) Ideally you want him or her to hit the base of their neck where their head sort of crunches into the mat. It'll stun someone if done properly and from there you can roll over into a very dominant position in side control.
      B) The opponent could try, but for one, once that happens, the opponent has lost 1/2 of his or her base, making another throw much easier. Also, once the thrower starts the motion and bridges, the opponent's leg is going to snap if he locks it.

      In the sport of Freestyle and Greco Roman wrestling you can do it as much as you want until the match is over but it is very difficult to lift someone off the floor who doesn't want to be lifted.

      I was just being silly. There's an old video game from the 90s where at one point two guy are running away from a train and one of them suplexes it. If you just look up "Suplex train" on youtube it should be the first result.

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  8 лет назад

      No it isn't legal for high school Folkstyle. It's used in Freestyle and Greco Roman at the high school level and up. You can't go straight back in Folkstyle but if you take them to the side with care it should be fine.

    • @timothyross432
      @timothyross432 8 лет назад

      So what would you do differently instead of arching straight back?

    • @hugoproductions6063

      i thinkk you can take them to the side and come around them

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  8 лет назад

      You would pop your hips and arch while pulling them to the side... turn out early and don't slam them. Hope this helps.

  • @LCBanga

    I got confused by the title at first. In professional wrestling this move is called a German suplex. Belly to back is a completely different move in Pro Wrestling. LOL

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  8 лет назад

      It's all good. I take it you understand that this video is for wrestlers and MMArtists. This is a belly to back and German Suplex is not a name used in our circles. I've been told by a thousand pro wrestling fans that this is a German Suplex. It's funny from my point of view. 😉

    • @TeachMeGrappling
      @TeachMeGrappling  8 лет назад +1

      In the U.S., if someone says German Suplex, we think pro wrestling (choreographed).

      Yes it’s dangerous... if done improperly. As the video shows, the opponent should land first taking the impact and then the thrower turns out.
