Just picked up a whole guardsmen army second hand at a local shop (so no crazy Ebay prices). Cant wait to get it to the table. Love this guys. Thank you.
Just some shades of grey then a light drybrush or edge highlight. I use a dark brown and some leadbelcher for chipping and then through an airbrush I spread aggrax eartshade for grime
Always good to see you guys play Epic and try out different missions. The audience demands more :) Regarding cover around vehicles, cover in Epic is never a plus to an existing save a unit might have. Cover might grant a separate save you can take instead of your armour save, which is very useful for light troops like guardsmen and almost useless for power armoured units outside heaviest bunkers, but being in any cover always grants the unit -1 to be hit in the first place (except against Ignore Cover weapons, like that Demolisher Cannon).
Thanks mate always appreciate your advice. And glad you're still enjoying them. I've always on the hunt for interesting scenarios or coming up with my own. As good as the tournament scenario is I can't play that over and over on the channel
Amazing, as always. I've managed to completely paint my Dark Angels Epic 30k army now. Just need to do the bases and they're ready to rumble. Thank you for the inspiration and positivity! 👍
@@Tabletop_Standard , ha! Me too. Also, quick question: Why do you folks tend to stay in transports after moving? I know it seems to make sense and definitely looks right, but infantry on foot get a cover save when out and often can't be targeted by the longer ranged weapons. You also don't then have to make a save if the vehicles are blown up. They can then re-embark the following turn, unless planning an assault, of course...?
@@Tabletop_Standard 😂😂😂 Fair enough. Worth noting for future though, especially as Space Marines are outnumbered enough as it is! Regardless, I love seeing people playing my favourite game. Thank you for reintroducing it to me and my mates over a decade since I last played it. 👍
Great batrep. I’m loving the epic content so much! Keep them coming! Definitely a bunch of rules being played slightly wrong. Next time I’ll jot them down with some time stamps to try and help. Well done guys! Love it!
One thing I really like about Epic Armageddon is how Space Marines play very differently from the main 40k skirmish game. There they're kinda the default beginner army. Good saves, no moral worries, variety of weapons and equipment. But in Epic, Space Marines are very hard to play well due to their very expensive yet small formations. Sure, it takes 2 blast markers to disrupt a space marine squad... but you have only half as many marines, if that, as an Imperial Guard player will have in a basic formation. It also means every dead marine is taking 2 blast marker capacity away from the formation instead of 1. They also don't have a lot of ranged firepower. In basic 40k, the smaller scale engagements mean small arms weapons like bolters, lasguns etc have appreciable ranges but in Epic they're abstracted to "Small Arms" weapons that merely represent the unit's Firefight value. So while Marines have good Firefight and Close Combat values, you need to actually get close enough to make an Engage action... which on the (by comparison to model scale) larger game boards of Epic Armageddon is more difficult to do without taking casualties on the way in. So positioning becomes incredibly important for Space Marines, controlling line of sight and choosing your activations carefully to present the smallest portion of your force to enemy fire as possible while you maneuver for your big assaults. They're much less forgiving of mistakes compared to Imperial Guard.
At 37:00 with the assault did you do supporting fire from leman Russ? Also space marines need two auto hits on the losing 2d6 roll to kill a stand because know no fear
I would have thought the warhounds take blast markers for coming under fire. (A bit like shooting a vehicle with AP weapons) Obviously none for loosing shields. Great game
Nice! Watched the whole series - never played Epic 40K, but always wanted to. Have a 3D printer coming now though so it seems like a good time to get into it : )
No supporting fire from the russes in the spartan vs baneblade assult? Also if those are marines, their morale rule should demand you to win by 2 to cause an extra hit right?
At 20:00 you might not have been able to put hits onto the other Spartan. I can’t 100% tell but it looks like the rocks block LOS to the second Spartan and so you can only stack damage on what you can see. Although you did mention this was a community version of the rules and my knowledge of the game comes from epic Armageddon so it might be different depending on the rule set you’re using. Definitely worth a check tho. Rules ref: 1.9.6 on pg 20 of the epic Armageddon rule set
LOS isn't as clear as we use a wide angle shot to fit the table in so it can be a little distorting. I think from our POV it was fine but we'll always make a mistake here and there.
If a rule or situation is ultimately unclear always go with the side that includes maximum carnage and destruction. In the 31st millennium life is very cheap.
36:00 You forgot the supporting fire from the Leman Russes 41:00 you forgot the crossfire rules for the Titans reducing their saves to a 6+ 50:50 You can't just leave random footsloggers behind, they have to be removed from the board as casualties once they're out of coherency 53:20 CC hits can't be allocated to units not in b2b. Trying to club a man to death like some sort of medieval LARPER doesn't work if he uses the advanced tactic of standing ten foot away from you. 58:30 Infantry count as being in cover and receive the -1 to hit modifier (but no cover save) if they are touching an armoured vehicle or war engine, to represent their ability to take cover from enemy fire by crouching behind the vehicle
@Patrik Andersson Not sure my self as these were made for me. Cults3d I understand is good and scourge scenics actually sell a version which I'd where the baneblades came from
Thanks!! I played 6mm back in the day and these def didn't look right. Planning to get back into the hobby and I'm def going to look for 8mm ones! Cheers!@@Tabletop_Standard

Great bat rep gents, keep the epic 30k coming!!!!!
More coming 🫡
Wow son your battlegroup looks awesome. Love those fire markers.
I feel Tony's pain, bless him. Really enjoy watching an EPIC battle, more please.
More on its way 🫡 x
I have been jonesing for these! Cannot wait to watch it!
Hope you enjoy it ☺️
epic was the best game they ever made, ive heard rumours of its return...
Strong rumours
Cant wait for some more Epic 30K content!
Would love to hear how you did the paint scheme on the militia vehicles.

Love seeing some Epic, and really loved seeing Guard on the board, even if it's Traitor Guard!

Leman Russ tanks destroying Space Wolf Spartans.
It’s like the traitors are mocking your primarch… 😂😂😂
The ultimate insult isn't it 😆
Best comment. Spat my tea out, thanks 😢😊
YES, EPIC 30K!!! More of these contents please!
We've got more epic coming real soon
@@Tabletop_Standard can't wait :-)
Beautiful job lads! Grey Slayer detachments can take the Tank upgrade and thus may take vindicators no problem. -original rules authour
Ha that's good to know. It was different on the various list builders we have 😄
Always love the Epic content! A fun looking game, too, dice luck shenanigans aside.
Aye a bit of that going on 🎲🎲😁
This is dangerous. If I get into Epic, I'm gonna start missing mortgage payments! Lol. I love this Epic battle report. The possibilities are exciting!

Yeah may have missed the supporting fire. Ah that's cool ref the know no Fear didn't know that. May have missed that in the next rep as well 😅
I need to play this!
Hell yeah you do!
Always take a blast marker for coming under fire
Yeah missed that, noted for the future 👍🏻
Thank you for another awesome video! I love epic warhammer, its a shame its not as popular as it deserves. Keep up the great work
My pleasure so glad you're enjoying the series
Nice job. Just remember to assign all your to hit rolls to AT, AP, or WE before rolling
Yeah cheers mate. We're slowly picking things up as we go the comments have been a great help
I would have thought the warhounds take blast markers for coming under fire. (A bit like shooting a vehicle with AP weapons) Obviously none for loosing shields. Great game
They should receive BMs for coming under fire like everything else.
Excellent video, great to see Epic getting played.

Always a good time mate. Glad you've enjoyed it. Big hints GW are dropping a new epic 30k game post summer so keep your eyes peeled 👀
Great to watch keep the epic battles rolling and if you are I'll enjoy the legion imperialis if you film those too
We'll 100% be doing Legions Imperialis and continuing with Epic Armageddon 🤟🏻
No supporting fire from the russes in the spartan vs baneblade assult?
Also if those are marines, their morale rule should demand you to win by 2 to cause an extra hit right?
Um... dunno 😅
Yep, at 36:00 you had 4 Leman Russ within 15cm of the assault, so they should have contributed to the firefight.
Just played eldar with sons of horus. Close loss but a lot of fun. Maybe you guys can involve other races to show battles in the great Crusade
Funny you should say that... Keep your eyes peeled. There was a major hurdle through
the spartans count the people inside for when considering breaking from blast markers
Fantastic video, gotta love EA
Cheers glad you enjoyed it 😁

Can only Get 6 stands into base contact with baneblade as its limited to 2 units per DC of WE
Where did you get the blast markers
Ebay bud, search acrylic blast markers there's a few to chose from I liked these the most
