Nice batrep guys! I wnjoyed your AT content and look forward to following more Legions. 😊 Ive played a few games now and watched this over a few sessions. The kratos, had it survived the dreadnought assault, wouldnt have been able to shoot the dreads. While the kratos was only engaged and could shoot, the dreads were engaged and pinned and so were not a valid target for shots.
First Limp batrep I watch! Well done, it does give a feel of how the game does. While AT is definitely my favourite game, I´ll enjoy watching these as well.
After three games we’ve found missile launcher support units are currently king of the battlefield. Long range, can take advantage of buildings defensively while ignoring them when shooting and good vs both armor and infantry. The only thing they don’t have is Skyfire.
Great content at your channel. What I like most as a former FoW Player is, that your tankmplatoons don't look like parking lots in the barracks of a tank regiment. Keep those distances...😂
47min: the rhinos that marched can't fire point defence in combat phase. You can fire point defence in movement phase before or after move, on advance or march order, OR during the combat phase. Only units with an Advance order can be selected to shoot in Advance Fire stgae (page 55). Nice bat rep, very clear and we can keep track, which isn't always easy with LI.
Probably just forgot I'd already fired them to be honest. Filming, coaching Steve and trying to play all at once. Obviously missed it editing too it seems 🙂
No worries, this was a great game. We all make mistakes in the heat of the moment. I played 8 games with my son and we have 95% of the time forgotten about his legion's ability. It is easier to see rules mistakes in others when you're just watching.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. No preference at all, just cobbling games together with what we've got currently. I was really hoping for the new book to start adding new units and combos

Keep in mind Point Defense is a lot better than you guys think. It allows you to fire your heavy bolters at the beginning or end of your activation in the movement phase, as well as allowing you to overwatch at full bs. Point defense weapons have been pretty disruptive and game shaping in our games so far.

I was under the impression the 4” rule for titan split fire was only if u split the dice for a single weapon. Other than that the targets can be more than 4” away to fire seperate weapon systems. Does that make sense?
Id say most space marine infantry just dont feel right. Itd be nice for them all to go up 1 armor and CAF. Even if a decent bit more points, theyre supposed to be super soldiers!
Terminators really don't feel like terminators in this game compared to old Epic. For some reason, every game of LI that I have seen with a titan in it, they just get ignored the entire game. I think that is why in Epic Armageddon one of the standard mission goals was destroying the enemy's highest point value unit.
Yeah they really don't. I'd rather they have the double save rule, Armoured is it vs light weapons? We will at some point play the epic Armageddon match play mission with legions
@@Tabletop_Standardthis is the way I think. The EA missions are perfect. I am totally against progressive scoring forcing you to suicide units to capture objectives
T1with soh rhino and tacticals worrying about getting charged. Alternative idea could be just march within 4",fire combi bolters, disembark and then if infantry charges even more shots(rerolls too for being soh). That can result in quite a few marines dying just to bolters. Have found new respect for rhino shooting after realizing bolters and havocs can be shot in movement phase after march move
I can see the whole point defense weapons firing separately and in separate phases than the main weapons easily causing confusion in large games. Detachments that have fired PD weapons earlier in the round will have to be tracked somehow. Not a problem if all they have is PD weapons but one vehicles with other weapons too. I honestly think it's mistake to put all objective outside of buildings or cover because the game is about infantry assaulting positions like that. Also, a lot of new players don't make use of Overwatch fire and considering anyone can do it at almost any time, it's worth trying out, especially from infantry.
The rules actually state that objectives need to be flat on table and not on any terrain feature. Not that putting them on since buildings wouldn't work but you know how some people can be.
I find tracking formations tedious and almost impossible as the game scales up. The inordinate amount of space required to track individual formations dead piles and break numbers is sort of impossible in some stores where you already need to play on a 4x4 just to have enough sideboard to function. We already need space for detachments in structures on sideboard, as well as detachment in transports, and another dead pile for models that don't add to breaking points, it just become untenable as the game scales up. We've elected to just do a combined break point for the army. It's much less stress for me running potential events as I don't want to have to audit dead piles and police models all having unique identifiers that indicate their formation. When people start talking about coloured rubber bands to track this sort of thing I'm out lol.
😄 Yeah fair point, totally understandable. I have mentioned to BattleBling about possible formation tracker tool? Or maybe the list builder website guys can add one? There's quite a lot book keeping and tracking in this game for sure!
Yeah, this game is a table hog. With a 5x4 paying surface plus room for off table reserves, units mounted in transports, dead units, books and tokens as well as a place to roll dice it can be hard to find space for my cup of coffee.
@@Tabletop_Standard I'd understand it if it was well conceived but it isn't and the don't give any methodology. Losing march order is basically it, no one even cares about first fire, it's basically only a morale thing. The other problem with formation markings is you're now stuck with that models only ever being in x formation which also seems like way too big an ask for all this book keeping and possible additional painting/modelling. Much easier to total all formations breaking points into 1 and just track that 1 number imo. The game is so top loaded anyway I get why people would want to break armies by formation but combined break is actually one thing that helps long play a little bit, and only a little really.
