She strived for safety and got that in the end of the final season. She had walls, food, a boyfriend/girlfriend. and a kid to look after. so for her to drop them all and leave seems like an excuse to carry the plot further
Obviously they did this to continue the path of clem, is true that they leaved us with lots of questions, but we will have an answer this summer.

All of that in season 4 just to say “I’m not happy” seriously? Honestly I love clementine, but season 4 was the perfect end for her. I hate to see her go but if they want to attract readers and viewers, they have to write a new story about different people, not just carry clementines plot until the very end

This Clementine isn’t Clementine. A character we see all season 4 become happy to adapting to being inside walls and finally safe. So for these comics to switch her character and give her a sort of Daryl/Jane personality makes no sense. They spent the last season really focusing on fighting for their new home and that they’re finally done running. Her leaving AJ made no sense as all of her character was based off of his well being and safety. So for her to switch back to her season 3 attitude and give everyone the cold shoulder just to create a story arc makes no sense to me.
EDIT: (I put Daryl in reference to how In season 5 of the show he was hesitant to accept the community around him and distanced himself for some time.)

So many stories they could have done, Prequels and Sequels both, and they decide to just basically throw everything away
Other than the Clementine that killed Kenny, chooses to stay and stay friends with Jane, and didn't give medicine to AJ, I don't see any way that Clementine just leaves AJ
This is disrespectful to Clementine's legacy and by extension LEE'S
If they didn't want to take away from player's choices and made sure they still mattered (the fact that the games themselves didn't really do that notwithstanding), they should have just had this be a Non Canonical continuation where all Determinants survived because this still deals the same damage but actually worse as it ruins the story

They could have done a full Series with a Main Story like what goes on with the Caravan, Richmond and the Delta etc alongside Prequels like the months between Season 1 and 2/Season 2 and 3/Season 3 and 4, and Character Spin Offs like Lilly, Molly, Kenny, Christa, etc, and should have had the game writers and Charlie Adlard as the artist

This realy feels like the are just milking the character she would never leave AJ not after all that she sacrificed to save and protect him. She had a perfect ending in the final season she had a shelter, food, walls, partner.. there would realy be no reason for her to leave them all behind. I am disappointed of this comic.
Well I can see why she is leaving him because AJ is with good people now but it dosen't make sense. why is she unhappy like if she said I belong out here and you belong in the school it would make sense because that does happen to people in real life. Her abandoning AJ makes her feel like Jane like in 5:48 when she says she almost lost AJ too many times, it feels like when Jane left Clem because she didn't want to see Clem die

@@0neiros. No, kinda liked the story of Javier and David, mixing up a little is nice, I much rather prefer season 3 than season 2 since the second season seemed gloomy and bland, also character wise Javier and David seemed more interesting than the group from season 2.
A complete break of Clementine's character in the first 4 minutes. Clementine leaving not only her group, but AJ is an excuse to carry the plot further and would have never happened in-game or realistically for that matter. This is disrespectful to the First and Final season which I grew up with and got to settle with a perfect ending. looks like it took a day in MS paint. She strived for safety and got that in the end of the final season. It wasn't even made by the original creators. I will never consider this piece of garbage cannon.

I'm not sure I'm enjoying this so far. Clementine went above and beyond for AJ, Putting herself in life or death situations, leaving behind friends, and Sacrificing her happiness for him. Now all of a sudden she's leaving him because she isn't happy? For the most part AJ was Clem's happiness. As I said I don't have a very high opinion of this so far but I'm hoping it improves later on.

@random critique lmao it’s no where near trash. As a writer myself and a student of creative writing at university, the plot is definitely...interesting, however the script and writing in general is just off and bland. No where near trash though, there are far worse.
Point is it may have a sub-par script but it’s still a blast to play through, Javier is an engaging protagonist and one of the things they got right, they got me to care about baby AJ despite his short screen time; my only problems being how they handled him int he final season, as well as Kenny and Jane in ANF.

I finished The Final Season like 20 minutes ago and now I find this. I was crying thinking I had lost Clem. Then when she was alive I thought she could finally live a happy life with AJ and Violet. What the hell did I just read!? Who approved this?

@@killmonger5097 Bro, TWD S2 had different writers but thats canon. This “story” is unfortunately canon. And for proof, the OG S1 team wrote Ep 1 for S2 then the new team wrote the rest, that’s why Ep 1 is so great but the other episodes fall flat.

I agree with everything, but its about an average length for a standard comic issue. they are usually about 10-15 min reads.

Clementine is and always will be one of my all time favorite video game characters but none of this felt right. This clementine did not feel like the clementine we know and love. She wouldn't put her own happiness before that of AJ and the graphic novels not being written by Robert Kirkman scares me.

No hate toward the writer of "Clementine Lives" personally, but I would have preferred a collaboration between Robert Kirkman and one/some of the Telltale writers.
Kirkman knows how to create a story and develop character while the Telltale writers would have assisted in bringing a faithful Clementine (or AJ or any of the Telltale cast) to the comics.

I knew it, I knew it! I said that they shouldn’t do anything more with Clementine sense they already gave her a great ending, a final heartfelt send off to the fans. The fact that they did this just shows that they should’ve just stopped at season 4. Ugghhh! Why did they do this?! It’s like finishing an anime, then for no reason having the main character just completely abandon everything, makes no sense.

Bruh, we waited 2 years to see her leave the place she fought so hard for. How can you not be happy in a place with walls, and food. And now we have to wait 1 more year for the next comic. It better be a good one, and a longer one, because this in my opinion is an actual embarrassment compared to the game. The game truly a masterpiece and it doesn’t deserve to be taken out this way.

And the story it's self could have been summed up in 2 sentences, nevermind the fact that it ruins the whole ending from the games, as far as I am concerned, this isn't the story, it wasn't even made by the original creators, skybound games actually did the ending of season 4 justice, this is just awful.

It’s out of character for Clementine to leave especially when she fought so hard to have a home and to leave AJ when she looked after him for years, and the fact that she wasn’t even gonna say goodbye too, until AJ stopped her.

Clementine went through hell and back to get AJ back then leaves him again, this isnt what clementine would if done she would allways take care of AJ and protect him. The problem with this is there's no reason as to why. In the games, Clementine multiple times states that she's striving for something she can call home where the people she loves and cares about and herself get reside in. In the end, she didn't get that with Lee, Kenny, Christina etc but she did get that with AJ and the people at the school.
For her to up and leave, there has to be an extreme reason as to why that would shift her character that much to the point where she would find a "normal" life unhappy. She loves AJ so much and sees him as a son and little brother. For her to leave him in the care of her friends for PERMANENT, there has to be a reason.
But all we get it is a "I'm not happy". Why? Why are you not happy Clementine? This is what you've been looking for the entire time. There's nothing out there for you expect more pain. Why is she even going out there? She'll only get herself killed in due time because of her leg injury.
This is too careless of Clementine and completely out of character. The ONLY way this could work is if they shifted Clementine's character in a reasonable way. Maybe after all the Ls she took and her not having a normal childhood or teenagerhood made her develop some type of mentality that she's looking to get rid of? I don't know I'm not a writer but I can analyze stuff and this comic is already a horrible start to Clementine's return
at i 6:46 i think the reason clementine can't be happy or that AJ can't make her happy no matter what is because she lost a lot of important people during her journey in twd series like her parents, lee, kenny, chrsita and omid, luke, jane, louis or Violet ( Determinant) and more, not only that but her getting betrayed by mike and bonnie and getting shoot by arvo etc, so it makes a bit sense for her to say that.
also i think when she wanted to leave Ericson's Boarding School she may go to look for christa again since she never saw her get killed, or go back to Richmond to see javier again but i think she never take AJ with her cuz last time when they were fighting Lilly in TWD S4 Richmond was on a war and she didin't want to put AJ's life at risk with this so who knows ?
or they only made clementine leave the school because they couldn't handle Determinant characters like violet, louis and tenn in the comics

Yup. This is exactly what I was afraid of. What a load of shit. There were SOOOO many better ways to get Clem on her own. Maybe someone goes missing and she feels like she needs to find them with plans of returning with them… whatever. This plot is shit. Clementine fought sooo hard for AJ. There’s no way she’d ever leave him behind. Ugh… I do not accept this as cannon. I will not be reading any future comics. As far as I’m concerned, Clem got her happy ending in the game.

Clem had a perfect ending this new clementine isn’t clementine she wouldn’t just leave her friends especially AJ. She also wouldn’t leave safety with one leg she’s basically giving her self a death sentence. This is extremely disappointing & just plain rude to the community & characters smh😔

Jinkies Scoob! Let's split up and look for happiness! This ruins the entire point of The Final Season. Why is she not happy? She has EVERYTHING that she could have in the middle of a zombie apocalypse? If she left, what happiness would she find? Everyone she cared about outside of the school is dead, besides Javi and maybe Christa. Though, i'm not sure how the hell they would give her more happiness than she already has. She leaves AJ behind, you know, the person she spent years trying to get back and protect? She went through so much to keep AJ safe, and now she is just abandoning him... And, also, how the hell is she supposed to hike the appalachian trail on ONE FOOT?? She brings no one but herself on this journey. I looked at 9 sneak-peak photos of the book, and I saw that AJ was not in a single one of them. That is the only reason I found this video, because I know that Clementine would never leave AJ behind. I'm also pretty sure that she didn't have a gun on her.. only her knife... that little leg kick thing isn't going to go very well now.. is it..?
