The whole "Clem feeling like a liability" is bs. By the end of chapter 4, Clem still remains a leader even without her left leg, taking decisions of where to go to the group.
100%. Like I do think this would develop as an insecurity of hers regardless, since she's so used to being able to do everything for herself, and A.J, but she'd never _abandon_ people over it. Then you add how a narrative beat in S4 was on whether or not Clementine trusted A.J to be able to make the hard calls. If you chose yes, she did, then A.J made a hard call. If you chose no, she later does admit that maybe she was wrong after A.J saves her life (I think there's a line, anyway).
Either way, it's bullshit. Like sure, it's a genuine thing that could've been explored. Like maybe Clementine gets a little reckless with helping around the school, but…no. Not abandoning. They just wanted to take a shortcut with this, honestly, and not deal with the different paths people may have taken.
Exactly After hearing that there was a caravan in the area outside the safe zone I was very intrigued to see who was there and I understand the telltale was going out of business but I feel like bringing of that knowledge of even saying that they Possibly had plans For a season five but then went bankrupt that’s my thought who knows maybe Crista would be involved there as I said in my comments in the past like that the possibilities are endless and this is a massive cash cow Skybound has to know this, Tilly Walton has no clue what she’s doing and has completely acted as if the actions of season four did not happen there’s so many questions that are left on answer like why would she abandon AJ why would she leave? everybody gonna be looking for why are there no not any situations where violet or Louis are asking any questions of her disappearance I really hope that they get rid of this and make it non-canon and continue on with the games hopefully it’s just a fluke
@@wisdomriver3476 My friend, I would really like to believe that. But unfortunately the reality is different today. Before our eyes, an amateur in the person of Tillie Walden breaks the character that Telltale has been creating for many years. She completely ignores the character of the character. Sometimes it seems to me that she does it on purpose. It's like being stabbed in the heart.
Felt like something was off, and I was hoping they didn't decide to canonically kill off all the characters at the school; so I'm glad they ain't dead (I worked real hard for Louis and Clem to work). But why would she feel like a liability? (For my ending at least) she has two people helping her out, one she was planning to build a life with (for me Louis)! This could've probably been a nice little short story of Clem traveling to another group for trade routes between the school and said group, they didn't have to come up with a half baked reason for her leaving, because all that does is "ruin" the ending of the final season! It's also out of character for Clementine to leave AJ, she had a nice home with good people, something that's rare in those days. Though, in my head, this is just a fan fic.
I really want her story to continue with commonwealth.

The ending was good but if it wasn’t for the bankruptcy they could’ve gone all out for a spectacular ending. I’m grateful we got an ending regardless, but there was a lot of stuff lost because of the bankruptcy and only having 4 episodes instead of 5. One I was really interested in was the optional Minnie redemption where she betrays the Delta and wants to go back to the school. If we had the full 5 episodes that would likely mean Lilly would have been the final antagonist Clem fights, since if Minnie had an optimal redemption arc. She couldn’t be the final enemy

The thing is, this could have worked so well as an original Walking Dead story with a new protagonist instead of Clementine. This book has many great moments and overall definitely has The Walking Dead feel we see in the comics and in the games. The problem is that the main character is Clementine, who’s story not only is wrapped up thematically in the Final Season but who has to be out of character to even be here. Clem leaving the school being out of character has been talked to death about, and that part could have been fixed by it just being a supply run gone wrong that temporarily separates her from the group leading into the story. Hell make the run go wrong because of her leg and you can even keep the conflict of returning because of feeling like a liability. Even then though I still think there would be issues with the characterization, caused by the nature of the Telltale games. For as little as choices mattered in the grand scheme of things, they were vital for the characterization. You could chose responses that made Clem pragmatic, sarcastic, compassionate, charismatic, etc. Or more importantly you could mix these types of responses to create a well balanced Clem. For a comic you need to pick a characterization, and therefore there will always be a difference from the players Clem. The only way you can truly do Clem justice in a comic is a choose your own adventure style one. It’s a shame, because I really think it could have worked as an original Walking Dead story, but with Clem, it just doesn’t fit.

I’m 5 minutes in and already have so many questions. Where’s AJ? Where’s the school? Where’s the people from the school? There’s no way she’d leave AJ behind. She wouldn’t leave the school either because at the end of S4 she tells AJ that that’s where their home is.

Why am I be subjected to torture and character assassination of one of the finest characters in the Walking Dead. Clem says that she and AJ will never be separated again after she saved him from the Ranch. The writer for the comic just has their own agenda I guess and not following the source material

Well... I gotta admit, As a book itself it's not that bad. I thought it would be even worse , BUT, as a continuation of Clem's story this is complete bull***t. I feel sorry for everyone who witnessed a lot of nonsense things like - Clem leaving AJ, knowing the words she said before: "I will never ever leave you again , AJ" and "You can't break promises", at the same time she can't leave Amos even tho she knows him for a short period. This is not the story Clementine deserves and TWD fans want to see. I guess, Skybound took Louise's words "You get to be happy or you get to be rich. You don't get to be both" too seriously. So they decided to make money from a book franchise instead of making us satisfied and save their face.
I will pretend I hadn't seen anything of this and hope for a best future of Clem and TWD series.
I really hope they change their mind or something and make this non-canon so their could be another better/possible way to continue Clems story.
The story betrays Clementine's character completely.
The art is 90% incredibly ugly and 10% just about bearable.

Why she leaves AJ specifically is still not explained
Lee basically FOUGHT TO THE DEATH to get Clem back.
When Lee had the choice to see Clem off to another group where she'd probably be safer (vernon) he refused, aggressively.
Tangerine gets that same choice with AJ and runs off into the sunset.
Clementine fought for AJ too for the whole of ANF it was her whole character motivation.
Season 3 might be not great, but at least it shows best Clem's need to protect AJ.
I read this tripe for free and I want my money back, it's literally an insult to the walking dead, to fans of even tillie's previous work, of which's quality has taken a significant step down with this book, and to comic books as a whole.
How skybound, who tend to have an incredibly high quality barrier, allowed this to happen is absolutely baffling to me.

After a Closer look at that One Scene with the Carriage, I've concluded at this point that that one dude that Clementine attacked tried to grope her. He was a Sick Creep.

This comic is just so bad. this is not a below average comic book this is absolutely terrible. clementine character is completely fucked, the romance was so goddamn forced that I wasn't even sure when the romance was suppose to happen, I can't even see what is happening most of the time, the book was boring as hell, and I feel like when you are in the apocalypse for YEARS you should of at least had more experience with SURVIVING (tim should not have died that early because a walker bit him ) and there shouldnt be planes being used during this time considering they would need fuel.

I cringed so bad reading this. Clementine is out of character, dialogue is inconsistent, plot holes, a plane out of nowhere, the romance between Clem and Ricca is absolutely forced, cringe, and uncomfortable even, especially when Ricca said "Clementine baby, don't let me die", half of the time I can't even comprehend what's happening due to the ugly and unclear visuals, the flashbacks seem out of place and random, Clem feeling as liability to school is completely bullshit, in that case, Violet/Louis should also have left the school since they are "liability" due to eye/tongue loss. Clementine just randomly going north doesn't make sense, especially since she doesn't want to stay in the town with Meredith and Rabby, but is completely fine staying at the mountain. New characters are weak and forgettable. Just a complete disaster. It's clear that Tilly didn't pay close attention to the games.

Uh wow, I thought this comic was going to be like a prequel sort of thing. Like it taking place sometime before AJ was ever born, but I didn't expect it to be a CONTINUATION of Clem's story after The Final Season....Why?! She already had a good end to her entire character arc, she finally found people she can call family, and she finally found a place for AJ and her to call home. For her to leave all of that AND AJ because "I'm a liability" LMAO what kind of character assassination is this?? This would've been better if it was just a new story with a new character. Or even mini stories of Clem's time on her own before AJ.

Kenny deserves so much more than just being guy, he was someone clementine loved in her past and for clementine to say that she went up north to be alone and everyone thinking she’d be a liability because of her missing foot is so stupid and bs. #NotmyClementine

What really got me is when she described him as "Moody" like... Do you mean that Kenny was traumatized Tillie?? After seeing Duck bit and being in denial and slowly seeing his son deteriorate, and then his wife Katjaa putting the gun to her own head and pulling the trigger all in one day. Then after being separated from the group wandering soullessly place to place until Sarita finds him lying on a booth in a diner. And then sometime after finds Clementine and has some goddamn normalcy in his life, gets taken prisoner by Carver with all the others and beaten nearly to death, watching Sarita get torn apart by walkers/being forced to put her down himself, the woman who rescued him and he fell in love with. His mental state is so unstable that he's forced to look at Clementine and AJ as his only lifeline.... of course he's going to become possessive of them both.
And then Jane prods him in all the right ways, trying to push his buttons and make him blow up in front of Clementine to make her scared of him. And then leaves a newborn baby in the middle of a fucking blizzard just to prove a point by intentionally ripping at old wounds and fucking with his trauma forcing Clementine to choose Jane or Kenny. And if the player chooses to kill Kenny putting Clementine through killing another caretaker/killing someone that was so close to Lee as well, and then revealing that AJ is fine and that she had killed Kenny for absolutely nothing other than to prove a stupid point.
But... Somehow Jane is the good guy? Somehow Jane is the better choice? After not only Jane leaving AJ unattended and he could have very well died of hypothermia, but forcing Clem to kill someone she loves and represents the time she had with Lee.
as someone who despised hated kenny with every fiber of my body, i couldn't help but laugh when i read that line

It honestly really disappoints me that Skybound decided to call it quits with making the games because there’s so many creative decisions that could’ve been made here we could’ve followed Clementine even further getting the characters from the school involved in making making it even better because I got to tell you the writing for season 4 the character development is phenomenal and I got so much more close to these characters that anyone since season one and they don’t realize how much potential this has and we could even go off on the other side story with just AJ I think that would be awesome there’s so much so much potential and it’s being wasted on the stupid comics
they should give the rights to the walking dead games to telltale since they decided to make games again after they came back fron backruptcy

When Clem said she’s feels like a liability at the school is because of her past there and ever since she got there. Many people died the good and even the bad and including the people she met before died too and she have the thought that if she stayed there more, she’ll think that she’ll get more people killed including AJ. But her leaving everybody was not the right answer to her problems. Her friends, her loved ones, and AJ is the right answer to her problems. They been there for her and she been there for them. They’re are the answers to resolved her problems. Those kids at the school and AJ is her Endgame. What’s truly her Endgame? (I say at the end of the comics. She needs to return, watch AJ grow and have a normal life together)
I agree with your ending of the comic, but I would much rather this comic just be claimed or specified as non cannon to the community, so we can all try to forget and overcome this horrid representation of Clem.

There were some really good qualities in this book, such as Tim as a whole, but there were definitely a lot of downsides to the comic. Loved the stream of this dom!

It could have been a better idea if the comic took place right after episode 4. At the end of episode 4, Louis mentioned that there was a group past the old safe zone and that they wanted to meet that group. Then when they are there, Clementine recognizes someone in the group who she thought was dead(someone from season 2)
They should defo make a 5th game regardless of the title of season 4, I think clem and aj and the school group have a lot more to offer and they can make her a prosphetic leg like they did in this comic, although the ending of season 4 was fanstastic I feel there was a lot of things that should have been answered and like I said the characters still have a lot to offer. If they make a 5th game it would be amazing but it is unfortunately a small chance. I agree too! The comic isn’t clems character atall, she was happy at the end of season 4 and she wouldn’t have left aj after knowing him since he was born and going through litteral hell to get him back. Let’s just hope the comic doesn’t impact the storyline

As much as I love violet (hell, I'm more of a violet x Clementine shipper) but she is more of a liability when she's blind then clem missing a leg. Tillie probably won't know that violet could be blind because she probably chose violet instead of Louis and never played replayed the game. Also there going on a island in the next book like WTF?!?! Thanks for reading this shitty comic Dom. I've been waiting for a whole year for this to come out and I'll be in 11th grade (hopefully) when book 2 comes out.

Tldr: The author makes it her own story rather than continuing with the game's story.
My genuine thoughts on the book:
I was kinda disappointed on how the comic turned out to be. Especially with how the writer completely destroyed what the game's narrative built up for Clementine conclusion by the end of season 4. I was really hoping that the comic expanded on Clementine's and AJ story after the events of the game as it gave us a hint on what the characters will do next. But I was really disappointed that they made Clementine abandon everything she built just so she can be independent only for her to do the same thing again with another group by being a leader as she was in Seasom 4 which contradicts the whole point. Overall, I don't really see this comic book series get as much good reputation because of how the author decided to make it her own story rather than continuing upon what game has built-up
Reading this I only now realize that Amos and Left totally banged, Right after Clem and Ricca got back from the cavern, when they where going to sleep, They make it obvious when you see the "gasp" thing then Clem goes "What are they-" and Ricca says "Let them have this" yeah, couldn't make it more obvious

This is not canon. What really happened was Clementine did not abandon AJ and she stayed with him in the school.

After reading all the comments, i can see that the whole TWDG community just doesn't accept/don't like the story. Also the book isn't that good from what i can tell. I liked when someone called this "non-canon fan fiction", or just that it never happened. I think that the season 4 ending was good enough, and it doesn't need to be continued. The story in the book doesn't even match with our choices from the final season. What about Louis/Violet? In conclusion, i also think that none of this happened and its not canon.

One thing I don't understand about the book is it changes clementines character I've played all 4 seasons and I know well she wouldn't leave aj and she enjoys living at the school this book doesn't make any sense

God, I don’t think I’ve ever been this disappointed in something from The Walking Dead universe. This is just not Clementine. It breaks my heart. I’ve been thinking over and over whether or not I should waste my money and buy this, because I actually enjoy it when something is very bad, I love the way I sometimes react, but christ, this was TOO bad. I am so glad I decided to watch this instead, I watched the first 25 minutes, then just let it run in the background so Dom could have something out of it as well. Thank you so much for doing this for us Dom, god not only the effort it you and Threefold Maker had to put into this, but the fact that even though the whole fandom agreed this comic was the biggest mistake SkyBound could ever do, you still paid for it with your money, and put this together for the fans. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we are grateful for this. You just saved my wallet.
Now, I mentioned in one comment before that people that never played the game, might actually enjoy the comic, and I still think that. It is good but, only when people don’t know the story. For me, as a person who grew up with this game, grew up with Clementine, I was the same age she was when season 1 was released and now, in final season, when I was 15 and she was 16/17, the whole game is very special for me, and like I said before, this comic just breaks my heart, I couldn’t even finish watching this. This is not the Clem I looked up to, she was my inspiration, my comfort character, and this just... It’s absolutely horrifying, I am so upset about this, I feel like if the author maybe looked more into it, actually played the whole game and over all just paid more attention to details, it probably wouldn’t be such a tragedy.
But I don’t blame Tillie for this, no, her art style is great, and like I said, the story itself would be good, if only Clem wasn’t the main character. It’s skybound’s fault and we all know it, I think if Telltale would still be part of this, the comic would be different.
To all the fans out there, we hear you, we are just as upset as you are, your opinion is walid and you are not alone, we are here, we are with you, no matter if you played the game just yesterday or you are a long time fan, we all know that Clementine’s action in this are just ridiculous. Sadly, I don’t even think there is anything we can do about this, I think the only thing out here, is to just not support the book, if we won’t give them money, and the interest won’t be so high, maybe it will tell Skybound something is wrong, although, I doubt it, since they pretend people love the book.
Let’s all just pretend this is not canon, and continue reading our Wattpad fanfics that at least make SOME sense.
And if there even is just a teeny tiny chance that someone who also works on the comic in any way is reading this, please, listen to the fandom, there is still a way to fix this, the book series is not done yet, it just began.

I think this story could've worked if Tillie rewrote how Clem ends up traveling in the first place. It would've made more sense if Clementine was trying to get back to the school instead of leaving it. An example would be if we started the story with her being taken maybe by the same group talked about in season 4 for the war effort, or just to get revenge on destroying the boat/killing Lily. The reason she gets caught is because of her leg and an eventual escape is even more difficult to her because of her leg again. I feel like this better explains why she might struggle with feeling like a liability. But with her trying to make it back home to the school, she can come to realize that they need Clem as a leader again and motivate her more to return home. Then with her wanting to return home as soon as she can she is willing to talk with strangers, and make risky decisions if it helps her with her goal of going home.
We can keep most of the story we have: Kidnap Clem, take her all the way to Vermont or farther since we want Clem to have to travel a long way back south to West Virginia, she escapes and stumbles upon the Amish girls(we will move the Amish settlement farther north then Pennsylvania), will risk going to the Amish settlement since she can walk better with a new leg(also makes sense for her to leave as soon as she gets there to make it to the school faster, goes with Amos(now heading south) because she realizes her leg is a liability/slower then the buggy, then she cuts a deal with Amos that she'll help him get to the mountain if she can have his horse, they go to meet the twins(here I feel like the nice one shouldn't kill the horse, whether that be because the mean twin kills it instead or walkers get to it before the twins) now with Clem without a horse and her friendship with Amos, Clementine takes a risk helping build to get a plane ride back to West Virginia, then we keep most of what happens on the mountain the same until Amos takes the generator, it turns out some goons from the group that kidnapped Clem followed her here(this could be set up earlier in the book, tracking her to town, seeing her leave, notice the flyer Amos had, and making sure they had to walk to the mountain since they show up days later where Clem and Amos had the horse) and since Amos is nice to everyone he meets, he invites them up the lift to help them build so Amos and Olivia(since she went to go find him in the book) get captured, after finding Clementine, Amos gets shoved of the mountain still but it's from the goons or at least an accident as Georgie would shoot at the goons trying to save Olivia which she does manager to escape, this is where Clementine becomes a default leader and comes up with a plan to kill the goons. Then, we can have Georgia's redemption where she ends up dying trying to save Clem, Ricca, and Olivia (Or have her still trying to stop them from leaving like in the book but I don't feel like she needs to be an antagonist anymore) finally we can keep the rest of the book be the same but since they are making two more books it could end on a cliffhanger of the plane breaking down or maybe never getting on the plane and getting caught. The ending isn't super important since you have two more books to cover

I'm making a comic book about a family in New Hampshire in the apocalypse, the son is Kyle, the mother is Diane and the father is Lars, the father was at work in Portsmouth, when the apocalypse started, then Diane and her son go to search Lars. In this comic book i'm gonna add that walkers eat another walker body when the person/walker was turn short there so it was still fresh or when the walkers are very hungry, i'm gonna call it "Dead outside and Alive inside" i inspired by this game

I was wanting to buy this book for my collection and seeing that the second one was coming in 2023 I was anxious to start it soon! However, after I saw the reviews for this book and the How much he let down TWD fans I was scared!
