  • Here at Concealed Coalition, we aim to provide you with valuable information on gun ownership and firearm safety. In today’s video, Director of Training Austin Davis addresses a crucial question: How do you know if a gun is stolen?
Determining whether a firearm is stolen can be a challenging task, as many stolen guns often go unreported, making them difficult to trace or identify. In this video, we’ll explore some steps you can take to protect yourself and ensure you’re a responsible gun owner.
One way to check if a gun is stolen is to consult local law enforcement. While not every law enforcement agency may have the resources to fully track the firearm, it’s worth inquiring with your local law enforcement agency to see if they can assist you.
If you’re purchasing a gun from a seller at a price that raises suspicions, it’s essential to be cautious and safeguard yourself. Having a bill of sale and proper identification of the person who sold you the firearm can be immensely helpful in clearing your name if the gun is later found to be stolen or used in connection with a crime. You can keep track of these items in our Personal Firearms Record Form:

While buying a used gun at an attractive price may be tempting, it’s crucial to be aware of the potential legal downsides. We recommend considering using a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer for your transactions. Though there may be a fee involved, it’s a small price to pay compared to the legal expenses that could arise if your dream deal turns into a legal nightmare.
We want to hear from YOU! If you or someone you know has had a negative experience when buying a used gun or has insights to share, please let us know in the comments below.

I once purchased an old .38 at a suspiciously reasonable price. Turns out i knew the rightful owner and they got their property back. I *was* out a little bit of cash, but a valuable lesson was learned.
    Great video, thank you. :)
