- In this video,i will show you the times in the Half Life games where you can meet other protagonist from different games (for example when Shephard meet Gordon). Hope you enjoy!

(Also the reason Gina body has her Decay HEV suit in Opposing Force is because i swapped the Deathmatch model [in the original game she has a red HEV suit because they reused the deathmatch model of Gina] with a LD model from either this mod: gamebanana.com... or this one,can't remember xD gamebanana.com...)

In half life blue shift if you dont kill one of the soldiers talking to a radio you can hear them talking about how Adrian's (protagonist of opposing force) ship has been delayed

The Xen islands that Calhoun passes through at 5:06 also appears as one of Shephard's item caches with the displacer cannon.
You know I never noticed how upsetting that scene at 5:15 must be for. Barney. According to the HL lore, he and Gordon were supposedly best friends. Basically he’s watching his friend get dragged off by some marines talking about how they’re gonna kill him, and he can’t do anything about it but sit and wait to be teleported again, with no way of knowing where Gordon was or if they killed him. He must have had that lingering in his head until HL2. Imagine the relief he must have felt when he saw Gordon coming off that train

Also in Opposing Force when you can hear the guy talking through the radio about how they're abandoning the base, which you hear in Half-Life in "Forget about Freeman!"

you dont see it in the vid but the vort runs back so it can do a lightning attack which of course fails.

Not really, Gordon’s crowbar was stripped off him and in the compactor. The only crowbar in Black Mesa that could be the one Barney gave Gordon is the one the scientist uses to pry open the gate
It would be pretty cool if that room was the one where the soldiers left all Gordon's gear and Barney tried to pry open the mesh in attempt to help him but was then teleported away. Would explain why Barney has the crowbar with him 20 years later and why he refers to it being Gordon's. But then again, Gordon gets his crowbar back so that wouldn't make any sense either, unless he replaces the one he lost
It's unreal seeing Gordon Freeman as a scientist. He looks so harmless even though I see tough guy in him it's hard to believe this guy would massacre armies, aliens, and anything in between to survive and win
Only thing is he doesnt massacre armies. Most of things you kill in half life are wild animals. Freeman only ever really engaged a few squads of hecus, vortigaunts and metrocops at a time, plus the occasional helicopter, grunt, controller, gunship, strider and hunter.

@@amartyapandit It's true, the grunts are no joke. They're most definitely special operatives, given they were supposed to be covering up a research facility gone wrong.
Since most of Decay's puzzles involved "Player1 stands over here while Player2 presses a button over there" it seems likely to me that the plan for the ending was to have only one of the players able to escape Xen while the other has to stay behind.
That's what makes me think this is Gina and not just a reused model.

It would also be funny in Blue Shift if we were to see an accurate Gordon from the other persons perspective, we would see him running and jumping everywhere instead of walking and standing still like an NPC.

It's crazy to know that all of these are simultaneously happening and the protagonists see one another for a brief second or watch them get dragged or see them on camera.
These possibly can't be happening at different times because of the amount of times each one has seen each other connecting more pieces to the Half Life lore.

They’re all happening simultaneously at different points, yeah. That’s a big reason why I love the Half Life expansion stories because they’re all from different perspectives of the same incident. It allows the devs freedom to make Black Mesa and the events of half life feel all encompassing and much bigger than just one game. It’s so cool.
And it's even crazier to think that all these guys thought it was just another day at the office. Little did they know the fate of humanity was about to be changed forever
I wish Half Life 2 had expansion packs where you could play as Barnie again or Shepherd who was screwed by Gman to become a Combine soldier

Shepherd is far more valuable to G-Man as an independent Human who can think and act for himself. G-Man would never allow Shepherd to be converted into a Combine soldier.

@@BeachioSandschannel Like what blooper said. Or she may have ended up like a lot of other former Black Mesa staff that survived, hunted down by the Combine and killed. I've never played Decay because I haven't bothered getting the mod port, but you could base it on how G-man interacts with them in the game. If he shows interest, they are probably alive, if he didn't then their fates are left to them. Ginas is already known, Colette is up for debate. Either stasis, or killed either in Black Mesa or by the Combine after they invaded. But with less reference to her than Shepard over the years, I am going to assume dead.
So much for the "rest my friends, you did it" line at the end of Decay
We need a decay two now to see gina die and collete end up in gmans freezer (also it is canon she is in stasis)
@@Pacman009 If gearbox had continued making valve games then we could've had Adrian and Colette as protags in a decay sequel since they're both being kept in gman's pocket universe or wherever. adrian could have had decent chemistry with colette; build her character off of all the maniacal cackling she does when in AI mode and she'd be a great foil to a reserved, buisnesslike soldier. someone needs to trick randy and gabe into hanging out.
@@adamkc0 sadly that would have to be near the end of decay two since the first part would have to explain how collete was put in stasis and how gina died. Then we would need something to bridge the gap to the next part
@@Pacman009 lolno gman will allude to some of that as he's giving you a hl2 style briefing before inserting you somewhere and the rest you'll find out maybe or maybe not since they were going to tell you next game but then just never continue the series.

I haven't played the original Half Life game in years but if i am not mistaken and remember correctly, some soldiers enter through the door behind you and start shooting at you if you wait long enough.
I have always assumed that one of the first soldiers(if not the first one)to enter is Adrian Shephard himself.
@@RayGarraty1985 Nope,that doesn't happen in the original Half Life. However,in Blue Shift if you wait to enter the portal to escape Black Mesa,soldiers start to come and shoot at you.
I think that it happens in the Black Mesa remake, Shepard appears and tries to kill you, whoever, if you kill him you'll get the "mission/objective failed" message thingy, for obvious reasons. (Nvm I think it's just an add-on/mod, idk for sure)

tbh, There's nothing more haunting than seeing Gordon slowly make his way to the Resonance Cascade in Blue Shift knowing damn well once he goes through with it all stuff hits the fan.
Barney caused the resonance cascade by fixing the elevator :P
This is why I love half-life expansions. They show same incidents from different POV. I just love stuff like this.

Decay also had cut content where you save Gordon from the marines, they were originally going to shoot Freeman and then drop him into the trash compactor which makes more sense. Presumably Gina and Collette shot the marines but they dropped Gordon in the process.
That would have been perfect since it wouldn't make sense how Gordon in Half-Life 1 would be completely fine after waking up in the trash compactor so the cut part would be a very good explanation because the Hecu would for sure take NO chances
Edit: So I did some research and I found out that this part would have been chronologically impossible but still, it would do a really good job of filling up a plot hole
@@milkman2040 maybe they wanted him to be crushed alive and hear him scream to avenge their friends, or maybe they wanted to roleplay the torture scene from Goldfinger, with Gordon asking "Do you expect me to talk?", and the grunts replying "No mizter Freeman, we expectz you to DIE"

I remember when half life was new. It was an awesome experience.
It still is. I recently completed hl2 again and went back to playing the original with all expansions, still felt like a new experience.
And half life alyx was so new that it ruined Shepard and Barney's expansion episodes, and also episode 3.

I wish more games tried this narrative style of one big crazy event happening told through the eyes of multiple perspectives.
It's not really possible in 2023 since the standard for regular games are pretty high and the most they can do is add games dlcs.

Shepard is a Mad Dog for G-man, even to the point of him putting Adrian into stasis, despite his Employers order
shepherd could have turned the tide on the 7 hour war due to his knowledge of xen and its alien life and weapons. he might have a big role to play if there is ever a HL3.
I saw a theory that shepherd was actually supposed to kill the nihilanth, it makes no sense that the g man would call in the HECU, making it harder for Gordon, unless he specifically wanted someone there. And we know g man interfered with shepherd’s training… but Gordon just proved himself more worthy and won via sheer will

For everyone questioning the Gina corpse in Opposing force, it's been confirmed on the wiki that is her corpse. For people questioning the timeline thing I think Opposing force takes place more then half way through the original story when you start playing, Decay starts from the very beginning and I think timeline wise ends before Blue Shift.
Opposing force ends about 30 minutes after gordon is in stasis

Also, not a crossover, but in hl after running away gargantua that were chilling in underground parking you blast him with mortart strike i guess? But thats not the main part, the main part is, while you are setting up coordinates for the strike you hear a radio of another high ranking solider telling that they are leaving, and if there are any targets left he should mark them. In opposing force you can actually see that soldier sitting before radio equipment and saying that, so you automatically know Gordon is fighting gargantua

What did we learn today?
Well, Gordan came back after a short six year nap and saved the world.
Adrian is still in stasis waiting to be brought out of the broom closet for a convenient plot event in Half-Life 3.
Barney is still the best friend in the world.

Y en que momento seria ese primer encuentro? Se suponge que el HECU se transporta en los V-22 osprey y si la parte que nombras es la que pienso, gordon se cruza 2 f-16 en ese acantilado.

If just with the gina.mdl model we consider Gina dead, then all the randoms barney models of the security guards, all the grunts that look exactly the same as Calhoun ans Shephard also declare both of them as dead lol. At the end to Decay the state of Gina and Colette is unknown. And I don't care about Randy theorizing and just answering like he doesn't care and joking, like come on... Don't talk about any of the expansions for years but we have to believe a random tweet..

I thought it was a cool idea for Gina to die, but that should have been shown in Decay, which explains why she didn't appear in Half-Life 2. Although Adrian Shepherd didn't appear either, there were chapters discarded about the character, as for Gina, absolutely nothing is known about her.

I know I'm even later, but there are mods being worked on for black mesa that are remaking them. Blue shift is the more popular one, so you should be able to find it quickly.

Because the spinoffs were made by other people for HL1, which lead to some confusion & ambiguity about what's canon but making spinoffs for Half-Life 2 themselves would take forever & slow the story to even more of crawl than it's been in all this time.
It would also cause the same places to be reused even more than Half-Life 2 already reused them. Half-Life 2 was also more clear about what each character was doing so there'd be a lot less to reveal that we don't already know.
