Here is the complete Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear as written in the 1965 novel:
"I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
The little death? lol. Ask a frenchman what the little death is. Le petit mort.
@@30noir yeah yeah yeah get your head out of the gutter
That's badass 😮
Years after reading Dune, I remembered the litany of fear during a panic attack and focusing on that text brought me back.

This is one of those stories which has a ridiculous amount of backstory to which can be overwhelming for new people.

I fell it does a really good job of portraying it.
@@ScotsmanDougal the books can be even more overwhelming, there's so much more they can't fit into the movie, but I wouldn't recommend spoiling anything for yourself.
As long as you can follow the story you'll be good, but definitely try to read the books once you're happy with the movies, or at least watch some lore videos on RUclips about it, the history of House Harkonnen is crazy for example

you guys are so perceptive!!!
I never get tired of how amazing these two girls are. "Don't waste water...!" So much fun to watch these girls.
hahaaa 30 mins into the movie and they start thinking like fremen.
5:19 Most of these people are not normal humans. About 10,000 years before this movie, humans fought an interstellar war against rogue AI known as The Thinking Machines. Following their victory, artificial intelligence was outlawed through human society. Because highly intelligent computers were outlawed, human beings were bred to be better physically and mentally to compensate. These characters are more advanced that modern humans in every way. We would be considered closer to cave men than we are to them.
Also this story takes place over 20,000 years into our future. The date given is after the establishment of the Spacing Guild which controls interstellar travel and commerce.
"Cave men" is overly generous. Compared to Navigators, Mentats, and Bene Geserit, we'd probably be closer to above-average chimps or bonobos...
They weren't rogue AI. They were AI owned by the richest that they used to enslave the galaxy.

There is more. Part 2 is out in theaters.
Everyone uses swords and knives but they do have lazguns but if used against a shield the effect will be a nuclear explosion.
"May" be nuclear. The end result of a lazgun hitting a shield is far to unpredictable to be relied upon. None, one, the other, both or everyone may die. MAD applies so they all accepted that lasers are not to be used if everyone is using shields

0:51, Dune is based upon a series of books first published in the mid 1960’s. The first Dune movie was made in 1984. It covered the first book in the Dune series.
In the year 2000 the SYFY channel did a miniseries of the first book in the series. They did a follow up miniseries covering the second and third book from the series.
This movie covers the first half of the first book in the Dune book series. The second movie that was just released in March of 2024 covers the second half of the first book.
thought episodes 1+2 were book 1 and third episode was children of dune for the miniseries

@@DJ_CubHot damn, as soon as you mentioned it I could picture Charles Bronson playing his harmonica.
Chi and Hela, your reaction and commentary was really excellent for people who knew nothing about the DUNE story beforehand! I had to laugh when Chi was shocked and surprised when the movie ended unexpectedly. I loved the way Hela reassured you by saying you would watch Part 2 together. I can't wait to see your reaction to that!
One thing that’s easy to look over if you haven’t read the books and it’s one of my favorite parts of the story is the visions Paul has of Jamis. He is able to have part of a friendship and mentorship with Jamis because of his visions, even seeing the wisdom Jamis would one day share with him (the mystery of the universe isn’t a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced which is an amazing quote) but because of the mistake of attracting the worm and jamis saving his life it totally changed the trajectory of their relationship and Paul’s future. The movie even kind of communicates that when Paul kills jamis is the moment he fully commits tot he path of trying to become the kwisatz haderach. It just feels so deep somehow.
I was a little sad they took out Paul's iconic 'he gives water to the dead!' bit, but the multiple visions of Jamis are an excellent replacement.
Jamis was my friend.
Honestly, I thought jamis visions were more symbolic? Like he showed paul a lot and taught him a lot ... by fighting him.
@@mappes1 no he was seeing into a possible future and experiencing a friendship he would eventually have with Jamis. The future changed because Paul and his mother attracted the worm and they needed Jamis to save them and so he didn’t find them worthy or whatever. But the point is that when Paul was meeting him he thought he was meeting the man who was going to be his mentor and his friend. I do agree that he is symbolically teaching him something in this moment but there’s also a lot more to it. You could argue this is the point where Paul truly has to step into adulthood and be a man.
@@samrogers5090hm, maybe? I have to rewatch it again. I dont think the visions are suppossed to be one to one pictures of the future, and sometimes more symbolic? Also seeing him as a friend (in his visions) kinda fits with the later meaning of jamis death. But I keep it in mind in a rewatch :)
@@mappes1 he’s seeing visions of the future but part of why it’s important is that it shows the Paul does see futures but they are possible outcomes that are subject to change. Like the visions he had of chani coming true. I’m just wondering have you read the books? I haven’t read them recently but from what I recall they are portrayed as visions of the future no different than his other visions.
Part Star Wars, part Game of Thrones, part Matrix... and written long before all three.. It's a incredible adaptation. As stunning as Part 1 was? Part 2 is an EPIC masterpiece... Hats off to visionary director Villeneuve who has the guts and talent to bring this great book to the screen the way the author would have loved...
Part 2 is a masterpiece. So happy how this director is giving us his vision of this series.

I love watching you guys!
Dune is based on a book from 1965.
and the temperature in the desert is 140, it was indicated in Fahrenheit, that is, it is 60 in Celsius, a little hotter than in Baghdad.
That is not a normal Baghdad temperature. Not even close.
The official highest recorded temperature on Earth is 56.7°C (134°F), on 10 July 1913 at Death Valley, California, USA
Isn't that the temperature of Death Valley? The place that's kinda imfamous for being, y'know, lethally hot?
48:43 she wanted no to kill the worm, but to ride the worm, like a horse =)
I loved this reaction. Trying to figure out a condensed adaptation of Dune without any prior context is like trying navigating a massive, six dimensional labyrinth, in the dark, while the way out is constantly changing. You guys picked on alot though, well done.
Part two is in theaters right now might be a while before you can watch at home ….edit it’s out on max now
Vietnam is the 6th largest producer of spices (3rd in Cinnamon) in the world.
There is so so much you don't know😰 Jessica was to the Duke a girl, so she could marry a Harkonnen. Then she would give birth to who Paul is now. Paul was recognized by the worm, which is why it didn't attack. And yes the fremmen😊 ride the worms. The SHIELD WALL is the rock barrier that protects the city from the desert sand storms.
I truly enjoy how you LADIES get into the movies you watch. Be well🙂🙃🩵💙💚💛🧡
No the worm didn’t recognize Paul. The worm didn’t attack because Jamis set off a thumper to distract it.
I didn't expect such a quick movie video posting after your previous one. The noble houses in this movie are House Atreides, which is the water planet Paul comes from. House Caitan is the one of the Emperor who has the Sardukar as his elite troops. House Harkonnen is the previous house in charge of harvesting spice before House Atreides gets its chance. Spice is only found on Arakis(aka Dune), and the economy is totally dependent on the spice. Without spice, no space travel is possible and the whole political power structure would collapse. There are more details, but it's best for both of you to learn them without being spoiled.
Two popular things from the movie: The spice must flow, and fear is the mind-killer.
Small correction, House Corrino is the Imperial House.
Same but I glad we got this reaction this soon after because it a great movie
46:49 LOL. "Why you yell?" As a fan on shinobi and ninjutsu myself, I feel you.
Part 2 is in theaters since last Friday. Saw it, but the theater was too comfortable that I passed out a few times. And on my damn birthday. Not gonna have a highly participated film on my day again, dammit.
You two are going to love part 2, I saw it last week and it was awesome.
One of the best theatrical experiences ever ! We don't have IMAX projector in my city, so I had to adjust it with a Large screen and Dolby Atmos and it was still so surreal and other worldly.
There is so much context to the Dune universe you don't see until you delve into the sequel books. So don't feel bad if some things still don't make sense after watching the movie(s), lol.
House Atreides was in no position to refuse the stewardship of Arrakis. They would have to follow the Emperor's decree or openly revolt against the Emperor over a decision that - on the surface - seems to be a great gift. Had they done that, the Emperor would have likely declared them to be a rogue house and most other great houses, especially House Harkonnen, would have used that opportunity to wipe House Atreides out and hunt down the duke's family if they had fled.
My favourite reaction channel reacting to an adaptation of one of my favourite novels, what a gift!
"You don't need to travel interstellar" lol. I mean, I guess that's a wrap boys. Movie over. We didn't realize that we don't actually need to travel interstellar so it was all for nothing.
From one "heavy accent owner" (Real life FloridaMan here!) to a couple others... Ya'll have ridiculously adorable accents!!! We'll definitely be hangin' around for more reactions from ya'll! Keep at it, and thank ya'll!
Yes they split the movie in 2 parts. Ideally they would do 3-5 parts as well. I think there were many Dune books written. The first book is 500+ pages
Dune 2 just released in theatres this week.
Part 2 is in theaters, and Denis is writing a screenplay for a third film, which will get made in the next few years. Great reaction! You understood pretty much everything, which not everyone does, because in part it's such a complex universe to establish with its many characters, politics, mysticism, religions, economies, power structures, etc.
So, if I were you, I'd go see Part 2 in the theaters (at least twice), and then do a re-watch reaction on your channel when it's available digitally. Such a great story, amazing cast, cinematography and sound design at peak levels. Maybe the best sci-fi film I've seen since Blade Runner. Maybe ever? Thank you for your reaction.
I’m glad that someone is thinking about Paul Atreides skin in the desert 👏
Keeping your skin moisturized is most important and stops wrinkles too!
33:17 Paul’s mother is the bound concubine to Duke Leto. That said they are very much in love with one another. Because of political reasons they chose to keep Leto single so that he could possibly marry/ally with another noble house.
However, in private Leto and Jessica both knew they would never allow anyone else to come between them.
i recommend reading the book as it explains everything you need to now and its a classic
Incredible film, but it is just the first part. I'm very excited to see the next part - so excited, that I'm actually going to go to the movie theater to see it... I haven't done that in a very long time.
the sign of a great film. 2.5 hours long yet when its over, "I want more."
On the planet, there's absolutely no water, so spitting is a sign of sacrificing water from your body as a tribute.
I have been a huge Dune fans since I read the books in High School. I can't believe I missed this video. I loved the reaction and I couldn't help but laugh at some of the things they said when they were being introduced to the Dune Universe.
Great reaction.
You two should see Dune: Part Two in a movie theater, especially on an IMAX screen because it was filmed entirely for the IMAX format. The movie is immersive with the highest level of cinematography and sound design. Seeing it on a TV or laptop screen won’t come close to a theater experience.
Much like "Troy" (which your reviewed recently), "Dune" is another good movie based on a great book/poem.
I think those women are both nuns and witches at the same time
Exactly100%!
In truth they are actually neither. They don’t worship or serve any deities so they aren’t nuns. Also they aren’t magical so they really aren’t witches. They are also not celibate as a Bene Gesserit are expected to use seduction and outright sex as a mean to their ends.
The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve... but a reality to experience. 🤩
"He can kill, but he does not want to," well, not at this point in his journey, at least. There is an incredible amount of story and events still to come in this series.
When you think about it, the book "Dune" parallels some of Earth history. The trading of spices from the Far East (China, the Indian subcontinent because there was no single country called India at the time, and smaller states like Viet Nam, Siam (Thailand) & Indonesia) led to vast naval networks to ship it to the Middle East, Africa and eventually Europe. The spice trade was a huge economic driver and because Europe wanted to sail to the Far East without going around Africa to get the spices and other goods direct, they started sailing west across the Atlantic Ocean and eventually discovered North & South America. Christopher Columbus at first thought he had landed in India or islands near India, so the islands he found were generically called the West Indies.
Frank Herbert was also very thorough in his research about desert ecology and the Fremen are much like the Muslims of the Middle East. They became the basis of several intercontinental spanning empires after their leader, Muhammad, gave his followers the Koran which led to jihad (the religious wars that were fought to spread Islam and the basis for the interstellar nightmare in Paul's dreams). He used many Arabic words in the language of the Fremen. These topics were not very well know or written about in Science Fiction (or General Fiction) at the time. He took the deserts like the Sahara and Gobi and expanded them to an entire desert planet, Arrakis/Dune. There are many other Earth-like topics that progressed those many thousands of years like the religions, politics and drugs (since spice was a mind-altering substance that expanded humanity's mental abilities and enhanced human life).
Just a fun side-note, Herbert's wife, Beverly Ann Stuart, supported their family as an advertisement writer after he quit being a journalist to concentrate on being a science fiction writer. His "pulp fiction" (stories in magazines) career was by no means successful enough to support the family on its own until after the huge success of "Dune" and its following series of books made them wealthy. It took 6 years of research and writing before it was published! Many publishers passed on the huge book thinking it as too complex. It became the largest selling science fiction novel of all time and is now the basis of these 2 great films. We all owe Beverly a debt of gratitude for keeping Frank's great novel dreams alive!
I never thought about it, but a vision of the future about a boy who can see into the future is kinda meta. Lovely reactions, as always.
OH MY GOD these two are so cute. As someone who has read the books twice and watched this Films about 20 times. I love hearing the fresh perspective from them as they are so perceptive and use interesting vocabulary that is correct but not how an Enligsh native speaker would. If they watch Dune 2, they're in far more shock. Then when Messiah drops their heads may explode, as they see the plans with plans within plans. The calling the darts "Hunters" is adorable
This is how you adapt a book to the screen. They stayed true to the story almost exactly & it's made the movie such a big hit (not like the Wheel of time Amazon!)
Only a few things were left out or slightly altered from the book as it wouldn't make sense on the screen & they do a great job of showing some of the harder things to translate on to film.
Paul's visions being one aspect, in the book he says he always has been getting glimpses of the future and knows he has a "dreadful purpose" if he takes a certain path (the path that leads to Channi); the dreadful purpose we find out is the 1000s of years of holy war in his name. They do a good job of explaining it in the film, I could imagine people being a bit confused by it without reading the book, but you two picked upon it fine.
Look forward to part 2, which is the 2nd 1/2 of book 1 and seeing as there are a few more books I'm guessing there will be more movies coming too! ;)
Never got into this movie. Please find The Wizard of Oz 1939 one of the best movies ever.Thank you ladies, John from Texas.
hey ladies how you dune?
Part 2 is out now, if you'd care to provide us with a reaction to it! ❤
beautiful reaction from both of you. I once lived in the desert and even though it is very dangerous and hot at daytime it is also so cold at nighttime. but the beauty of the desert is something I never fully understood but as I've grown older, I'm so happy that I got to see the incredible beauty that is the desert and when the rains come for just a few weeks the flowers that grow in the desert are incredible.
Epic! Part 2 is out now. For another epic desert film, check out Lawrence of Arabia.
I really recommend the books. Any film thing does something wrong and something right in comparison to others.
The blue with in blue eyes are a side effect of spice exposure on Aracis from merely being exposed to it over long periods of time. The dust on the wind.
Part 2 is in theaters now. You will have to wait a while to react to it.

Awesome reaction. Thanks so much!
1984 Dune is 1 movie, it is so good and vicious, but it looks old, I like the 1984 much more than the new ones.
Paul can see possible futures and make choices
Don't feel bad for not understanding everything. Dune is a very large universe of books. This movie has cut out a ton of information about characters, the women, human computers, the guilds, etc... and compressed a lot that happened over hundreds of pages.
If you thought part one was great, wait till you see part two, it becomes very Game of Thrones with how it is all played out. This and part two are in joint place in my top 10 sci-fi movies list.
From Canada. Great reaction, ladies. I like your different perspective!
if you enjoyed this movie (and have not read the book) but are a little confused about the plot and/or lore, watching the 1984 Dune movie will help feel the gaps. It is not as visual as this version, but it explains some things much better.
and it's 90% inner monologue XD
It is a terrible movie but a good terrible movie.
Part two really should be seen in an IMax theater. I saw it a week ago and it was excellent. Far more action.
12:38 - the mother did not feel the pain, but the mother was remembering when she was given the same test when she was younger. The mother is also nervous that she will lose her son. It also tells the amount of power that the Reverend Mother has, that she would be allowed to kill a Duke's son and heir. Why use the box? The goal is to find people who have the mental control over their reflexes. People with that level of control are considered valuable, rather than people who only act on reflex.
16:48 - the city is covered, as the sun is really hot. Very few people go out into the desert on this planet during the day if they have the choice.
17:20 - Water is so valuable on Arrakis, showers are too expensive.
17:52 - Shadout Mapes has been hearing prophecy all her life, and now it seems to be coming true. But the prophecy is one that was planted on Arrakis several thousand years earlier for a Bene Gesserit to use if she got into trouble.
20:13 - that pet understands human language. Does that mean it used to be human?
20:59 - not tall, antigravity attachments that let him float
21:05 - The Baron will not kill Jessica and Paul. But if the Baron indirectly gives orders for the two of them to be dropped off in the desert, and kills the people who drop them off in the desert, then there is nobody to interrogate and prove the Baron killed Jessica and Paul.
21:25 - an umbrella to protect you from the sun in the desert = very sensible.
22:43 - you are in a desert environment, where every drop of water is precious. Spitting is a gift.
23:41 - 140 Fahrenheit = 60 Celsius. 140 Celsius is higher than boiling water.
23:47 - hot air balloons are low-tech, but practical.
25:30 - everything is calm, until something breaks. Also, spice is the most valuable item in the universe per pound.
28:09 - guess who got a face full of raw spice
31:41 - Paul is not a Fremen, but he may have to develop their skills. Paul was then talking about how Jessica is pregnant.
32:00 - not drinking the blood, applying it to the foreheads
33:08 - she is a concubine, not a wife. She provides excellent political advice to Duke Leto, and since Duke Leto is not married then other Houses of the human empire can try to offer a daughter to marry him and bind their Houses closer.
34:50 - not nuclear, just very powerful. You also saw how the explosion was contained by the shield at first, so all the destruction was applied to the ship instead of going outside the ship.
35:47 - they fight by swords because shields have made guns effectively useless. Slow things can go through a shield, fast things bounce off.
36:18 - they also have anti-gravity items in their outfits to let them fall safely. Notice how the guys in black armor were killed off rapidly, but the guys in white armor killed quickly.
37:41 - the doctor drugged Paul, and it was a very effective drug.
38:28 - why would the Fremen care about two outsiders fighting each other?
45:23 - take the gloves off to better feel his weapons. He knows he will be outnumbered while fighting the best of the best, so he needs as many advantages as possible.
49:52 - they would have to be crazy to follow into a storm.
55:26 - they walk like that because rhythmic steps attract worms. It is hard to do, but better than having a worm wake up and hunt you down. Also, a thumper attracts worms. Why would the Fremen have an item designed just to attract worms?
58:37 - Stilgar doesn't know how a lot about Jessica.
58:51 - Stilgar just learned something about Jessica
1:01:26 - she expects Paul to die, and wants him to die holding a decent weapon.
1:03:00 - Paul was also trained to kill someone wearing a shield. So Paul would slow down his knife out of training, meaning Jamis thought Paul was playing with him.
1:03:56 - they thought Paul was someone who could be trained, it turns out that Paul is very well trained. And in the knife fight it showed that Paul was much better than Jamis, one of their better fighters.
1:04:20 - now you know what Dr Kynes was getting ready to do before she was killed.
Someone's probably already said in the comments, but the Bene Gesserit are an order of priestesses who have manipulated events for thousands of years to make sure things happen as they see fit. They are trying to create a super-being, the Kwisatz Haderach, who will lead all humans into a golden age. They do this by advising and controlling the great houses, arranging marriages and ordering their priestesses to breed and give birth to daughters, as they want the Kwisatz Haderac to be female.
The Reverend Mother is angry with Jessica for giving birth to a son out of love for the Duke, since it breaks their plan, and tries to make sure Paul is under their control... but things won't be that simple.
Nice summary, but I think they needed a male Kwisatz Haderach. They wanted him to be from a female Atriedes (which Paul was supposed to be) and a male Harkonnen (Feyd Ruatha). But Lady Jessica disobeyed them and had a male child that was 1 generation too soon, because she loved Duke Leto and wanted to give him an heir. The Bene Gesserit had the ability to access all prior generations' knowledge from the female lineage, but they needed a male strong enough to become like them AND to access the knowledge of all the male lineage. The ability to foresee the future was even more important but I don't remember if the Bene Gesserit actually knew for sure that would be the result. Jessica's daughter, Alia, also had the precognitive visions like Paul.

12:39 They don't both feel the pain. Jessica remembers when she took that test. She's afraid her son will die.
I've seen all 3 screen versions of this story. This one diverges from the book further than the others do. For that reason, I like this version the least. It does have the best ornithopters though by far. I've heard you say you're confused a few times. It confuses everyone. That's because it's hard to turn a book like this into a movie. You'll understand it better if you read the book. It's very good.
You should react to the 1984 Dune movie, Its really different in style but I think its a fun movie

There is a lot to Dune. I love, love...and I mean Love the novels. I have strong feelings about the David Lynch Movie, it introduced me to the Dune Universe, but then I read the books and now can't really stand it... but that's my opinion, so if some likes it I don't mind. I really enjoyed this adaptation and the sequel. Thank you so much for sharing your reactions with everyone. I really enjoy them
For me honestly, I think while lynchs movie was full of lynchisms (which are not everyones thing), it mostly failed in the second part, completly ignoring the moral of the novel turning the story into a revenge/hero-plot imo.
Dune Part One is a great movie. The Second one is also great.
Both of them did better than the 1985 version (even though people would say that film covers the entire book)
I take Lynch's Dune as a true "adaptation" in the sense that its not necessarily going to follow an identical structure as the source, and it's a movie I personally enjoy a great deal and wish it didn't get such a poor reputation. At the same time though I understand why people dislike it.
People just like the '85 adaptation because of nostalgia. Give it another 10-20 years and these Dune movies will be remembered by most as the best.
@@Karlach_give it 20 years and we'll have another adaptation where the spice is actually blue
@@Karlach_- The 1984 movie, despite all its flaws, has outlived all other adaptions for me.
And this tries to impress by being big and epic, and shallow, and 40 years from now it won't be as well remembered as the 1984 movie is, imo.
There seem to be two versions of this film…this one is much darker (literally) than the one I own. You literally can’t see anything that happens at night.

House Atreides has no choice but to accept. They are a noble house under the authority of the Emperor. "Asking" them if they accept is a formality. You are 100% right that it is a bad idea to go there, but the reality is they cannot refuse without declaring open treason against the Empire. Which is EXACTLY the point...

Calling him "young human" was basically the point of the test. The test of pain is a Bene Gesserit method of weeding out those who do not have the strength of will and concentration to ignore base impulses. The metaphor of "the animal in the trap" reveals what they consider the true measure of a human: i.e., an animal caught in a trap will be overwhelmed by its impulses, and do anything to escape the pain, whereas a (true) human will, by an exercise of their higher reasoning capacity, endure the pain and pretend to be dead, tricking the hunter into releasing the trap and giving them the chance to surprise and kill the hunter (thereby escaping the pain AND eliminating a threat to their species in one swoop). The true measure of a human, to the Bene Geserit, is the ability to resist base instincts in the pursuit of a higher goal.
The dune books are incredible dense and cerebral, but I've never met a person who had read the books who wasn't absolutely floored and deeply affected by the series, although dune book 2 and Dune Messiah are by far my favorites
"Aaah, ooh, yeah" counter is over 200
Am looking forward to you watching Part 2,:)
You guys are awesome!
Since you are new to Dune:
The setting for the movie takes place far ... really far ... in the distant future (10,191 AG or After Guild to be exact which translates to around 25,000 Anno Domini in the Gregorian calendar of today), to the point where Earth is all but forgotten. Humanity has spread across the known universe and is ruled by an Imperial Dynasty and numerous noble houses governing their own planets. There are no aliens, just highly evolved and divergent groups of humans who come from different colonized and terraformed worlds. The plot revolves around intrigue between two rival houses, Atreides and Harkonnen, focused on the planet Arrakis (aka Dune) which is the only place in the entire universe where the most precious resource in existence known as spice can be found. This commodity, capable of unlocking humanity's greatest potential, gives the spacing guild's navigators the ability to fold space, that is travel without moving.
Also, due to Thinking Machines nearly eradicating the human race long ago, intelligent computers (A.I) are outlawed. You won't find Droids, HAL or any kind of sentient technology. It’s all about the mind. And "fear is the mind killer." - Duke Leto Atreides
Zendaya's character is a member of a native population of humans on Arrakis called the Fremen. The vibrating effect you see between Chalamet, Brolin, and Momoa's characters are personal shields which are virtually impervious to bullets/lasers. Because of this, warfare has reverted back to hand-to-hand combat and the use of melee weapons which can "slip" past the shields. „The slow blade penetrates the shield!“ - Gurney Halleck
The novel was written by Frank Herbert in 1965. It is the basis of most modern sci-fi tropes. Imagine crossing the sci-fi from Star wars and the political intrigue from game of thrones with the mythology of Lord of the Rings, all three of which were highly inspired from Dune. The book is considered the most influential sci-fi book ever written. In a nutshell: If Star Wars is for kids, then Dune is for adults. It even puts Game of Thrones to shame when it comes to character driven narratives.
„Father! The sleeper has awaken!“ - Paul Atreides
Hi Movies Munchies !
First one, yes the movie was produce with american, but the realisator is Canadian. Denis Villeneuve produce many great movies. Perhaps you must react at Arrival. Have good week.
Certain spacing guild navigators ingest such extreme amounts of the spice melange drug that they begin to go through a metamorphosis into hybrid human/sandworms. So their strsnge outfits and helmets are both to hide that appearance, and because the suits are airtight and continually flooded with spice melange gas they're breathing 24/7 or they'd experience extremely painful withdrawal and then die
it just occured to me that the tube structure in space which the space vessel is exiting resembles a hollowed worm without the teeth.
The director, Denis Villeneuve, is a French-Canadian, we have many of them locally, but they rarely make it this big in the US. You should watch Sicario, the first one. He did many other very good movies too!
40:22 the wife was turned into that spider "pet" in the Harkonen room. The place with the bald guys.
Part two is a masterpiece
I can't wait to watch it for the 2nd time :)
