They reacted to Dune. As it is written.
lisan al gaib
As it is written.
they must be LISAN AL GAIB
Lead them to paradise.
was surprised they did honestly
The Bene Gesserit basically play all sides so they always come out on top regardless of who is in power. That's why they wanted Paul and his mother to live.
I just watched part 2 last night and you're in for a treat. I had to pick up the first book.
Got the first book after seeing part 2 also
The books are absolutely incredible.
@@di3486 So many people give up on Dune the first time reading it because the first few pages alone absolutely bombard you with in-universe jargon with zero context. Bene Gesserit, Kwisatz Haderach, Gom-Jabbar, and so on all within the first few pages. But if you get past that it's life changing.
I would suggest getting the second "book" (it's much shorter), Dune Messiah. It completes the generational story of Paul Atreides, before the next generation takes over in Children of Dune. The first four books are really good, IMO. Dune itself is my favorite book of all time. I've read it over 20 times and was still seeing new things I'd missed on the 15th read. Great "bang for your buck." (Or maybe I just suck at comprehension) ;)
@@crabuki1273Paul isn't in the third book?
Part 2 is like 10x better it’s insane
not even an exaggeration. I loved part 1 but part 2 is well beyond.
Nah I actually liked part 1 just as much as
Part 2 was satisfying and very good. But Part 1 remains a level above in how it dropped backstory and built a deep universe so quickly but so impactfully. Even with the cliffhanger/abrupt ending. I thought about Part 1 for weeks after viewing it.
@@ryanr8364 facts I agree I think the second was more a stereotypical movie and one was more unique
@@jwj123abc I see both movies as one actually. And it's how I'll be watching them going forward, both together.
Dune & Dune: Part Two are probably my two favorite movies of all time. Seeing Dune in 2021 in theaters for the first time changed the way I viewed movies. I have never seen visuals or heard sound in a movie that impressive, it felt like how people in 1977 probably felt seeing Star Wars for the first time. And Part Two is even better than part one which is saying A LOT. We finally have a new GOAT'd franchise for this decade.
Agreed. Watched Dune in 2021 at a super-IMAX and was really blown away, and I've been going to theaters since 1982. And I was already well familiar with the plot, having seen the 1984 film and read wikis about the book series.
Fun fact Hans Zimmerman was the one behind the soundtrack and they worked on it pretty early on as the movie was developing so the sounds would be part of the movie as well, they made a lot of the sounds themselves too
facts! Part 2 is even better than part 1 so i'm really excited to see what they have in store for dune messiah (part 3 but Denis isn't calling it dune pt 3)
LISAN AL GAIB! Something I discovered after watching this movie and reading the books is that there was an AI takeover and so that's why it's in the future but instead of expanding AI capabilities, they focused on expanding the human brain. They didn't want AI and computers to think for them so that's why there's a lack of technology with a "brain"
The human brain and more basic mechanical and materials engineering. Immense starships, immense constructs. Imagine the stress on those ornithopter dragonfly wings and the sort of engineering skill that would be needed to design it.
@@hettbeansI mean they’re literally based off of dragon flies and could be made today. Would just cost too much because war is more important for some reason.
@@n0body550 Uh, no, these could not be made today. The stresses on those wings at that length beating that fast are far beyond modern mechanical engineering or materials science.
@@hettbeans lol okay
@@n0body550 🤦♂️
“Drum sand” is a natural occurrence. It happens when the sand becomes more compacted, either over time, with humidity, pressure etc. it Carrie’s the vibrations better than the loose sifting sand
Drum sand is naturally occurring (not a trap). It is just what they call sand of that type of structure kind of like how quicksand is a consistency of sand.
I could never watch a film like this with a group of people talking over the entire thing. I would lose my mind 😭😂
lol same!!!
Same, but after I watching it a few times I wouldn’t mind so much. Then again, I didn’t go into watching this movie blind since I’ve read the first two books so I knew a bit about the lore already so there is that.
Whoever’s making your thumbnails needs praise. 😂
Genuinelyy
Glad that pat was picking up and able to answer questions for the guys throughout the reaction. Cant wait for part 2 upload. LISAN AL GAIB!!!
Can't wait to see you guys react to Part 2..... Greatest Sci-Fi movie in 25 years
Lisan al Gaib!
Bra yall gonna love the second part I promise gotta get the review of the second one. The entire Star Wars series was based off of this book and after Part 2 this might take over Star Wars.
It's important to note that Paul's vision in this movie are not all the way clear yet. What he's seeing is just possible futures. In the second movie, they become more clear (i wont spoil how) but yall are gonna love the second movie! It's amazing, I've already seen it 3 times in theaters lol. WATCH PART 2 IN THEATERS FIRST!
When you take a life you take your own. In his vision its the metaphor, he kills Jamis and it ends the life that young Paul has known. You can't kill without changing your fate forever. Super deep!
yeah this one and only time where I don't want you guys to react to Dune Part 2 but to just watch it in IMAX by yourselves and maybe do a second watch for the channel. It would be criminal for you to experience it on your home screen.
Fr Mamoa's final scene - I love how it shows that one Atreidies fighter could take down a whole platoon of imperial assassins if given a fair chance.. The Artreidies were respected for a reason.
Damn right they were ❤
Duncan and Gurney were in a class of their own, though. Basically they could equal Bene Gesserit trained fighters and that is rare indeed in setting.
Being trained by such luminaries would be a privilege indeed.
Watched part 2 last night. It’s so much better can’t wait to see you react to it.
GO WATCH PART 2 IN THEATERS!!
Amazing Film
For thousands of years the Bene Gesserit have been working to bring about "the one" - part of that is planting "prophesies" of his coming all over - so when he comes people will be ready for him.
there are so MANY parallels in part 2. just from rewatching i keep seeing more!!

My favorite is how during the duel between Paul and Feyd, Paul uses both the lesson from Gurney and the Gom Jabbar to win. The idea behind the Gom Jabbar test is that an animal caught in a trap may gnaw off their leg to get away, while a human would endure the pain while waiting to draw in whoever set the trap and kill them.
Paul intentionally takes a couple of non-lethal hits from Feyd to draw him in, get him overconfident. Feyd loves pain, both receiving and inflicting it, so he falls for it completely. He gets in close, and Paul finishes him off with a move very similar to what Gurney used on him during their sparring in part one.
It's also possible that the reason it worked is that Feyd never understood the lesson of the Gom Jabbar, due to his love for and fixation on pain (as Lady Fenring said after testing him).
Part 2 is INSANE
I watched this movie first before the book, and im currently reading the book.. The movie helped me visualize everything and focus more on the details and extra things. The book is 10 times better, not only because it gives more details to everything that happens, but because it has some of the best moments that didn't make it to the movie (like the dinner chapter)
The dinner was filmed too, there’s bts pictures of it.
@@Unriven I don't remember seeing it on the movie
@@LFNZE cut in editing, same as Thufir's scenes in dune 2.
Yeah, the banquet is great, but it sadly wouldn't have made much sense to have it in the movie. The main purpose of it is worldbuilding, and a movie has very limited time, so the focus needs to be on the characters and plot.
Plus, it would've messed up pacing, and confused movie-onlies since it introduces several characters who aren't really relevant in the first novel.
@@Colp2 This is why the book should have been a trilogy, not a duology, and at least 3 hours each. Book 1 only has 2 part movies, and each last about 2 and half hour.. as a trilogy it would have been better to tell the story more in detail without rushing a lot. But i understand that it would make the movies slower.
The diamond on Dr. Yueh's head signifies "imperial conditioning", supposed to be incorruptible.
Y’all should watch part 2 in the theaters, everyone saying it’s really good
This movie was so good and part 2 was even better. Saw it in imax the other day. Epic as hell!
Paul's sees possible visions like branches out to the future like a tree.
Finally 🙌 been waiting to see y’all react to this for 2 years
It’s so hard to believe that the mind who wrote this did it in the 60’s! The books are fire you guys should read the first 3 for sure

Wellz just be saying hints to try and get the group to understand

Absolutely PEAK cinema🙏
Part Two was Amazing
Was wondering when yall were gonna react to this one!
Dune is a VERY influential Sci-Fi story that inspired most of todays most popular sci-fi properties like Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. Pretty much any setting that has any kind of sand worm was inspired by Dune.
Star Trek has nothing to do with Dune. Trek is utopian, and was created practically at the same time (1966 vs. 1965). Dune is extremely dark, even more than the movies show.
Love the thumbnail 😂👌
I just noticed the Sardaukar killing Duncan has Bene Tleilaxu eyes.
"Dune" was published in 1965. It takes inspiration from Isaac Asimov's "Foundation" series in very broad terms.
Movie is fire and part 2 is even better
Paul = Eren Yeager (when it comes to visions)
Honestly throughout the whole dune series, i think Eren is a great comparison
I thought Paul saw possible futures? Eren said that the future he saw couldn’t be changed, there was no choice about it.
Hm it's been a while since I've watched AoT (I need to do a rewatch soon, I LOVE it) but maybe you're right? I was more thinking about how both see the future and are super tormented by it and kind of become the bad guy based on the future/s they know they need to reach. @@Drummer4President
And the futures both Eren and Paul see are VERY dark and involve mass death.
Eren if he was well written maybe.
That thing on the Baron's back helps him to move due to his weight and... because of something else that happened in the book, which I won't say here.
Needless to say, it makes him very creepy and should be taken very seriously.
Y’all better be seeing part 2 at the cinema 🔥🔥🔥🔥 it slaps
He mentioned in the beginning a question about where the story is from, a guy called Frank Herbert wrote the series back in like.. the 60s I think. The reason you see a lot of familiar elements is because George Lucas took inspiration from Dune to make Star Wars.
My dude with the smiley face hat had my exact reaction throughout this whole movie, mouth open, locked in, mind blown! Did the guy in the middle read the book? I read after watching the movie, and it really helped bc this is a huge world Herbert wrote. Loved this movie & reaction! Can't wait for ya'll to see pt2! Sry I don't know all your names yet 😊
watch the series from scifi if ya haven't cheaper production but more story
Just wait until you guys see part 2!!
Yo shout out to shaudaut maypes
ALso there a game coming out on steam can't wait to play it! XD
31:50 that's actually a natural phenomenon in the sand.
In the book they explain how the Sardaukar are trained on a hell planet and every single one is a hard af badass worth FIFTY regular soldiers. Like an army of nothing but Dwayne Johnsons and John Cenas, it's _bananas_
Who’s seen the original DUNE 1984 movie and Frank Herbert’s three-ep series DUNE 2000 followed by the CHILDREN OF DUNE 2003?
watched em all and read the books before 2000 up to chapter house won't read further though
@@ilikeknives1000 oh ok
I just knew before I clicked that none of these guys read the book.
My favorite part about the Dune world is that it’s so far into the future that we’ve went back to to hand to hand combat the armor got so good that it brought back fighters!! I always loved that shit the great warriors throughout history and tales of greats like Achilles and Spartacus🔥It makes people fear they’re names like Levi in AOT like everyone knows that man’s dangerous Achilles same deal and Duncan strikes that fear along with Gurney it’s so sick!!🔥🔥
LISAN AL GAIB!!

Good movies
The guy in the left shouldn’t be on the reactions. Half of the movie he falling asleep 😂
The books are the inspiration for star wars

Part 2 is about twice as good.
Y’all gotta watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
No way they think drum sand is the Fremen literally putting drums In the sand🤦♂️
Dune part 2 is a w
Paul’s foresight isn’t clear because once you can see the future, you realize there isn’t the future to which you march towards, but possible futures-Always changing. A future, not the future. And when you can foresee the future, you can change it by your choices-Hence, Paul’s visions always shift, and he is always changing possible futures.
chaos theory in action until you choose the path
@@ilikeknives1000 Yes, in flux until you fix it-But one could argue the that even if you choose a specific possible path, even just knowing of the other possibilities in itself, might alter the future.
Frank Herbert honed in on this dilemma well. One of the reasons that he dealt so much with forecasting the future and prophecy, is he thought the notion of the future as a fixed event on the timeline was in error. Choices now change the outcome to come. Thus there is only a possible future, never the future.
Dune Part 2 is even better than Part 1
🗣️ Lusain Al Gahib
For those of you who like to read, I can't recommend the book(s) highly enough.
Lord of the Rings please🙌 the greatest fantasy series ever
Quick note. In the book, Paul weeps after killing Jamis. Big deal in Fremen culture

LISAN AL GAIB🙏🏼🙏🏼😖
Y’all should react to dragon ball super super hero
Star wars was inspired from this story.
The voice is not like the force…. The force is like the voice. Dune came out before star wars, george lucas ripped off frank herbert
Gosh I hate the dr. He was willing to let a n entire house get wiped out because a monster told him he will let him join her. What an absolute selfish fool.
Dune was a big inspiration for George Lucas and therefore Star Wars, you can actually see the parallels if you look closely
You don’t have to look too close. It’s practically falling off the page or screen
Reading Dune made Star Wars basically seem like a Dune fanfiction 😭
You can see them even if you dont look closely at all
"I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating… and it gets everywhere." - George Lucas
I swear this is a reupload

You guys gotta watch alien
Am l the only one who finds this movie very slow?
14:11, the Reverend Mother is Jessica’s mother and Paul’s grandmother. So despite being a cold calculating person she was trying to help them.
She's not, Just the Reverend Mother nothing more than a mentor to Jessica
@@Water_Person_IRLtechnically she is because of the Brian Herbert books, but Brian Herbert also sucks and his books are terrible so I choose to believe nothing that happens in them is actually canon
@@thefunniestvalentine4789 Brian Herbert squandered any good will from the dune fan base when he retconned controversial things in the prequel and the book between dune and dune: messiah, he's literally writing fanfiction and getting paid for it
This is not a thing, unless you consider anything from Brian Herbert to be cannon. The narratives are much simpler, the philosophy is almost completely gone, outside of a thin facade of something more thought provoking than the statement "water is wet". I personally tried very hard to like them and failed. Until I see the so-called notes left behind by his father (which they will never show) I refuse to believe there is even a shred of Frank Herberts ideas in those cash grab pamphlets Brian Herbert wants people to call books.
EDIT: I didn't bother looking ahead of time, but people seem to have already said this in not so many words. Point still stands, read the BH books at your own peril.

I’m ngl the first one was ass
This movie so overhyped and overrated it’s crazy
the scifi original series was better story wise this one just looks good and seems to be chopped up for the epic scenes alone the time skips have no real explanation and zendia's monologue was awful
They had to cut a 14 to 16 hour story down to under 6 or nobody would watch it. I've read the books, the gist of the story is intact.
Well, "better" exists in all forms. I have seen much better comments than yours. The Story was intact. And the acting and spectacle were outstanding. Your quibbles seem petty. And It was "Chani's" monolog. Seems like you have a bit of a problem with the Actress. Might have tainted your views?
@@donny1960 to be honest I didn't care for her portrayal either. Though I don't think that was her fault as much as the writing. I can understand creating a counterpoint to the messiah narrative, it grounds the story a bit more and come across more real (even though 20k years into the future shouldn't be beholden to us, this unrelatability in the level of fanaticism from even those close to Paul has always been a point of scrutiny among readers, past and present). I just think they took it a bit too far with her character, almost to the point of damaging some plot threads so much that Dune Messiah will likely be dramatically different from the book.
That being said I loved parts 1 and 2, and will reserve judgement on Messiah until I've actually seen it. Also, I may or may not be a bit salty that Thufir was just gone. Even as a child his final scene with Paul and his relief and realization about Jessica made me cry, and I never cry.
@@Bottlekap I think having two lovers reunite. Putting their differences aside. Will make Dune Messiah get right back on track. Denis is a huge fan of Dune. He will not alter it so completely like what is being suggested. Putting the doubts of the Fremen into Chani is pure genius. It started with Jamis and was an undertone in the second third of the book. But by making Chani the "spokesperson" of that doubt, makes their reconciliation all the more important. They HAVE to love each other and be together. There is no rest of Dune without that happening. As for Thufir. Both I and Denis agree. He has stated that cutting Thufir was hardest thing he did in making Dune Part 2.
