And our theoritical, real scientific officials keep us in fear of invasion, how do we not comprehend that thee may be better civillised species out there rather than our selves in perpetual mutual animosities level? Good level headed screenplay !
If you think about it what is stopping us reaching the stars? It's the immense cost and lack of cooperation. So a species that can travel the galaxy will have overcome those limitations. They will be as we would say enlightened
They try to keep us in fear, because they are afraid of it
Because in our human experience, anything requiring as much effort as travel across time and space would seem to happen primarily for the betterment of the one making that effort.
Despite all the comments down here, I felt that a light of hope was shared at the end. No spoilers , just watch and enjoy with ingenuity.
Loved it. (No spoilers) Loved all the little things that happen like they would in real life, like: one of the group that doesn't like/trust another of the group, consistently through the whole movie, but tolerates him because everyone else likes him, the whole group wonders "who can we talk to about this, but f**k telling the feds (we all know we can't trust the gov't), They side-step the feds several times because "no warrant" and we've all seen enough cop shows to suspect that they are probably going to tail us and let's think outside the box. The professor, after hearing about their little secret asks "You wouldn't just be trying to fool an old man, would ya?" Lots of great stuff. Spend a couple hours and enjoy this really great movie.
Absolutely superb acting, no violence and a wonderful story.😊

I think we know who the best Hemsworth actor is, and he’s in this fabulous movie about love and redemption. Worth watching multiple times to introspectively process this emotional ride.

This movie is freaking incredible. I've now watched 2 full movies on RUclips consecutively, the other being UFO with Gillian Anderson which was equally as good. I had no idea you cud watch full movies of this quality & this modern on RUclips. Just bloody marvellous

The Aussie-born Luke, brother of Chris, Hemsworth is excellent in this. Engrossing story-line.
He was diabolical. Below hallmark level of acting and that is pretty dire.

A human-flaw is that we insecurely self-compete with ourselves at the expense of others either harmlessly or fatally it is up to our individually to monitor that otherwise unruly impulsiveness can get you killed without simple intellect, a while being more mentally severe with yourself before others will find- self-honesty!

Wow, very pleasantly surprised and impressed with this movie. Great cinematography, great acting. It hooked me in emotionally too. The ending was stunning and very well written with no blatant clues leading you there. They were only there in hindsight, which is kudos to the screenplay and scriptwriters. Thank you for sharing.

To be fair, I wouldn't have gotten that close to it. I mean, radiation is just one issue that we know of, and we have 0 idea about what else that's harmful about it. To me that's absurd. I wouldn't have walked up to a glowing hole in the ground made by something falling from the sky

Not a blockbuster, but great story, script and Luke Hemsworth was just as good as his brothers. Loved the ending so much I cried.

Very unusual story that makes me think what had inspired the writer 🤔. I like watching scifi movies and many by the time turned to be realty ,with the developing of the technologies ,but this one somehow is out of the box.

I would guess A I. They tested military-grade AI learning in social environments like Twitch TV and found they had a difficult task in restructuring after training in such an environment of undeveloped people. Between the types of games, the violence, and the unethical statements of hosts while interacting with global software game productions.
You would think A.I. would be able to compile a report of exposure, cause and effect, and dissonance related to money and unethical. Whether social, political, financial, or economic, to forecast a pattern relationship with exponential outcomes.

This was like a 2nd year film school production . Writing is quite sophomoric
Despite that still the happiest ending of any alien story I have seen. Usually it's bang bang bye bye.
It is a bit soapy drama, but they did pretty good the story line was awesome.

Well damn, I actually enjoyed that! Sure the special effects are a bit ropey, but the story kept me engrossed and as others have said, it was very well acted. It certainly deserves more than the 40% it got on Rotten Tomatoes.
