Good idea on the drain. I’m in Regina and have a catch can on my truck. I do find myself having to empty it out weekly in the winter. I think it is worth having the catch can on your truck.
hey you're not too far away from where i am. I'm in Opheim and was concerned about keep a catch can on my silverado. It regularly reaches -50 F here where i am.
Been watching you for almost a year now ever since I got my sierra. You inspired me to customize mine. I did take some of your ideas like the cold air induction intake, the boilers exhaust and bullet antenna. I also did a 6 inch lift with 22x12 wheels and it came out great. Keep up the great work and I can’t wait to see what you have planned next.
My might mouse has an adapter that gies to the pil.giller cap. So where does the pyher lime go to the top port on the throttle body or the bottom port on the valve cover from that hose ypu removed? I am guessimg it goes to the top port cause thats considereed the clean port? while the port that goes to the oil filler cap is dirty port?
Don’t have to but of you are worried about a warranty claim it is easy to remove. To deny warranty would require the catch can to be proven as what caused the warranty-covered part or system to fail.
When Installing the Cold Air Intake, did you have to do any Manufacturer Flash Update to the Engine to avoid any Engine Codes? I have a 2019 Chevy 5.3l. Silverado, I was looking at the Chevrolet Cold Air Intake, System, it included a Update for the Engine. Funny thing is Chevrolet does NOT offer the Cold Air Intake anymore from the Accessory Online Catalog.
Depends on the intake, but with the ones I have installed; As long as you disconnect the battery for a couple hours during the install and turn off the air filter monitor in system menu, you won’t throw a code. The MAF will read the new airflow parameters and adjust fuel mixture.
Hi Dan silly question to ask you did you put aluminum wall in your catch? Can I hear some people say you should some people say you shouldn't? I got one for my 2016 Silverado but I don't know I wanted to talk to you. You're the more of the top of your game on everything I need some expert advice.
My 2022 At4 6.2 has the right bank exhaust crossover pipe that is mashed over half flat. I hate it. Have you looked at yours? I am going to have it replaced with a proper round crossover pipe.
What happened to the illuminated gmc emblem? FYI, this is the best your truck has looked since I’ve seen your channel. Just got my 2022 1500 4x4 Sierra SLT on 11/04, and it’s everything I could’ve ever wanted.
Congrats on your new truck! The emblem had a few LED’s stop working. I have a replacement on back order. There is a video about it. Thanks for thinking my truck still looks good too!
If you want the most noise and an aggressive looking intake, S&B is my preference for this truck and its personality. I moved the CAI intake to our 2022 Escalade and it is a good addition there too, but less aggressive and quieter.
Putco! Specific to my vehicle’s hood. Still had to trim the back of the bracket a little for the wiper arm to travel. Didn’t figure that out until it rained 😂
Don, do you do Spray foam insulation? I can’t remember what video it was but I think I saw a trailer one time that said Spray Foam on it. Am I incorrect ?
I am 6ft tall and need a stool to reach the bottom of the can, otherwise I would have done that. I didn’t film me standing on stool but I was on one. 😂
It’s trapping a lot of condensation and seems to be working well. Here is a video if you missed it: Oil Catch Can: Surprising Benefits - Watch Before You Decide ruclips.net/video/_mbRNSJxCRY/видео.html

Thanks for the support Jeremiah!
Smart idea - good call. I hope it works out well!
Thanks Steven, I think it will 👍🏼

This working out good still? Wanting to do this.
Is there a way to connect the mirror lights to the low beams? I’ve already seen the high beams version but I don’t use high beams often
Probably. They would just need to be triggered by the low beam circuit. Maybe pose the question to the folks at BoostAutoParts
Well done videos. Very informative and thorough.
Thank you, it means a lot.

If the drain barb threads stick out into the can you can slot the end so it's flush with the bottom of the can.
Good tip 👍
Do you have to remove the catch can when you take it in for service?
Don’t have to but of you are worried about a warranty claim it is easy to remove. To deny warranty would require the catch can to be proven as what caused the warranty-covered part or system to fail.
How's that going to work when you're wheel well fills up with snow and ice like our wonderful winters do
Time will tell, but I think that will be a rare occurrence (if at all) since I wash it frequently.
The catch can goes on the intake side or exhaust side? I’ve seen them mounted on both sides. Great video
There are two videos before this one linked in the video description. But this is for the intake.

@@Donslife Sounds like the plan. When you disconnect the battery, do you do both sides of the battery or just the ground?
Just the negative is good

Do you like the S&B intake you have installed over the CIA model? Which one do you prefer? I’m in the market on purchasing one

Thanks Don! Keep up the great videos
What A pillor braket did you used for your pod light?

@@Donslife thanks for the reply. Doesn’t ship to Canada 🇨🇦 for what ever reason. Can’t check out? Any store in Canada?

No, we do spray applied coatings and stains to a variety of substrates such as stucco, brick, window casings, and more
I wonder how much stuff, condensation and oil, you will have in say a week of driving in the cold, can you do a short video update ?
Impeccable timing. I was going to do a follow up since it has been a few weeks since I last drained it.
I believe that if you installed the valve on the bottom of the catch can it would be more convenient, then you wouldn't have to lean under your truck
I am 6ft tall and need a stool to reach the bottom of the can, otherwise I would have done that. I didn’t film me standing on stool but I was on one. 😂
@Donslife I understand that, but when you check the oil you could drain the can, but we go with what works, thanks for taking the time to reply 👍
Any updates on how this is working for you after a few months of use?

I found a solution, I moved to Florida 😅
Do you have room for 5 more?
Don !
😂
All those performance mods for a stock motor... Might as throw that money in the paper shredder.
Catch can? I consider that preventative maintenance.
